Derrick Polder – The Polder Group

I have done business with the Polder Group twice before. First time was good. The second time was just Ok. This time they have breached my trust. They gave my prequalification information to a realtor with out my permission. Prior to this happening I tried to reach out to Daniel Ford, which was supposed to be my contact, on a few occasion. He never returned my call. I reached out to Derrick Polder after the incident happened and he has yet to return my call. Please be careful if you decide to use this group.

I know, like and trust Derrick Polder and my experience with him has been excellent. Perhaps that’s because I’m not a first time home buyer with unrealistic expectations. Yes the process is time consuming and hectic and they ask a lot of questions, but that’s because you’re begging a bank to loan money to you. (If you were going to loan 6-​figures to a stranger, wouldn’t you check their credit, take your time and ask a lot of questions too?) Typically, if you’re not happy with your interest rate or points, etc, it has more to do with your income, ratios and credit worthiness than the broker you’ve hired. He doesn’t make money unless your loan is funded, he’s on your side. Derrick is rated in the Top 1% nationwide by Mortgage Originator Magazine. That’s why I recommend him and his team. They get loans funded and that’s what counts.

I was referred to Derrick and his team by a mutual friend. This friend heard my stories of frustration regarding the loan process. I was not in the position to get any type of loan according to the several companies I went to who promised me everything until i got in the door. My friend told me Derrick would be able to make it happen and if he didn’t, no one could. I heard this through several people EVEN other lenders. I gave it a shot. Regardless of how busy Derrick is, he has a team that works around him who compliment his every move. Derrick gave me financial/​credit correction direction and it all went from there. The things he said that could happen if certain things were corrected and fixed, came to be exactly as he said. Within a month, I was able to be submitted in as a candidate for a loan. I also went in with the open mindedness that I could depend on the whole team to help me if Derrick was not available. His team is nothing less than incredible. From the staff who first answer the phones to those who particpate in parts of the process out of Phoenix, every single interaction was handled with attention and care.
Along with the service they provide, the speed and precision of the process was right on and ahead of time. With my accountability of getting them every document they requested on time and quickly, they processed it and moved forward to the next step. There were no delays and the loan was submitted in for approval almost 2 weeks prior to closing date.
I thank this team, immensely, for the position my family and I are in now. We are about to move into the home we intend to make our home and our place to retire in. The first time I saw it, i told myself it was my dream home and I would have something like it someday. Well, because of the Polder Group, its ours now and my dream has become reality.

Being a young professional in the Tucson area, many colleagues and friends are in the midst of buying their first homes. I have referred many people to Derrick and his team because I know that they’re the best at what they do. Everyone I have sent to them has had great experiences and will use them again for their future home purchases. From what I’ve seen, they really go the extra mile to make sure that your needs are taken care of.

Being a first time home buyer, you would have thought that this company would have been a bit more understanding and compassionate about how overwhelming this process was for us. Everything with went sour right from the beginning. The rookie loan officer Kyle didn’t even have the decency to call us back anytime we called him, out of about 20 plus calls I spoke with him one time and he was rushed. Dealing with him was so bad, he even caused the contract on the house to expire and the house was put back on the market. He made false promises and pretty much bullshitted us though the whole process. We had to come in with money that was never discussed and we were even «promised» to get monies back.
Loan officers should always go to their closing’s (heck that’s their money they’re making off the deal) so that they can make sure everything goes smoothly. Per his boss Brian Winkle, they only do that upon request. If you’re a first time home buyer, how are you suppose to know to ask that. Come on Brian!
They gouged us on the closing cost’s by charging almost two points to do the loan and also made a mint off of the interest rate. I would never go back to them and please beware you’re just a pay check to them. The only thing that had personality there was the building that they’re located in. That was pretty!
Let me clarify something with the reviewers of my grading. My son and husband were on the loan that went through Summit. I choose to stay off of the loan but they sure did pull my credit and released any and all information to me when I was able to talk to someone there. We already had a loan in place with Fairway and they solicited us and stole the loan from Fairway.
To this day member’s of Summit’s staff are still emailing me to plead with us to come back in to sign additional forms they forgot to have us sign before. Now that’s being thorough.
