Gourmet 100% Angus Burgers
History
Established in 2009.
Monkey Burger is a casual restaurant serving hamburgers, salads, french fries, roasted corn on the cob and fried pickles. At Monkey Burger, we use 1⁄3 lb. 100% natural Angus Beef hand-pressed patties along with signature spices and gourmet topping combinations. Because our customers deserve the best, we use only the freshest produce, and burgers are served on rolls from Tucson’s own Bakehouse Bakery.

Business Owner
Roy Schaefer has always been drawn to the comfortable familiarity of a hometown restaurant. Born in the «old pueblo», Roy worked in his family’s restaurant since his teen years, Roy soon immersed himself in food culture managing such restaurants as Sauce Pizza and Wine, Pf Changs China Bistro. Going from family restaurant to high end chain restaurants to guiding the startup of Burger City seems like a natural progression for a young man with drive and enthusiasm and a will to succeed.). His goal is to serve the best burger and create a unique dining experience. «I look forward to coming into the restaurant every day, where I can often share a burger and soda with one of our regulars, including local chef celebrity Janos Wilder, or arts supporter and ward councilman Rodney Glassman. You never know who you’ll bump into when the atmosphere is welcoming and the food is good,» says Roy, «Remember, a burger is the all American favorite. It should always be made with love and creativity.»
