A year after the last review, I can say with confidence there is no prejudice at Sporty’s. The first time I went, my partner and I got the all you can eat fish fry, tilapia on Friday. The kids got pasta with meatballs to split. The fish was just a little on the bland side, the batter seemed lacking in salt… but it was crispy and the fries were awesome. The kids ate almost every last bite of the pasta, the bite I had was flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. This morning I stopped for breakfast and had the monthly special – steak and eggs for $ 4.95. The eggs were a perfect overeasy, I ordered hash browns, which were crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside(just right). The steak was closer to well than the medium I ordered, but it was seasoned just the way a breakfast steak should be, no salt, pepper or a1 needed. I was so full I didn’t touch my toast, even though it looked to be buttered just enough and came with strawberry and grape jellies. The orange juice tasted like it was fresh squeezed from home grown oranges, sweet and pulpy, yum. Next time i’ll be trying the hamburgers, which look full of promise. I can understand the previous reviewer’s confusion and frustration, there have been plenty of times i’ve been in the area when I had thought they should be open but weren’t, other times when the«open» sign was on but nobody was there. I will say if you can make it there when they are open, it will be worth stopping in.

We got there, were looking at the menu, which was posted in the window, someone came out, turned off the«Open» sign and told us it was closed, so we went next door. When we came out, we saw the«Open» sign illuminated again. Let’s just say the strange experience reminded me of what it must have been like to have been a person of color in Mississippi in the 1950’s. The place just got there and already I do NOT like it. I do NOT recommend this place, first impression is that there might be a prejudice problem there.
