History

Established in 1990.

Andy Schandl and a business partner started the business in a warehouse off of Trosper road in Tumwater. Andy has a business degree from the Evergreen State College and his business partner was an expert in installation. Together, over a fishing trip they envisioned starting their own store. His wife Heather Schandl joined him in 2004. She has a degree from Washington State University in Humanities with an emphasis in Interior Design so the carpet business was the perfect fit.

We strive to provide the best most knowledgeable design assistance available and have the Abbey warranties to back that up.

Business Owner

Andy started his career working for the state of Washington Department of Information Services, after graduating from Evergreen State College in 1989. He also installed carpet in the side. After he and a business started Floor Express in 1990. He has since built two custom homes along with running Floor Express and has an unquenchable knowledge for building and contracting. He applies this knowledge daily to his projects at Floor Express and in his endeavors as a custom builder.

I found Andy and Heather to be completely honest people. Their prices are very reasonable. My old kitchen floor needed replacing. Their technician, with over 30 years of experience, removed my old flooring and installed a beautiful new floor. How he moved that heavy refrigerator of mine is beyond me. ;-) Heather has a great eye for color and style, and I used her suggestions. Floor looks beautiful.
