We used this service today for our friend of 13 years, Igby. I can’t say enough about how wonderful these people were throughout the process of saying goodbye to our cat. Dr. Meg was wonderful and caring. We could not have asked for better help. Igby died peacefully and surrounded by love.

What was truly one of the hardest decisions we made as a family, the entire staff at Home Pet Euthanasia made it heart warming. From the beginnings of the process with Tracy, the amazing care that Dr. Meg gave our Zackers, to the delivery of our precious boy’s ashes, and anytime I needed support, they were there. Having never had to go through this experience before, they lend the most genuine care for your family and your pet. I’m so glad to have involved them in this experience. As my son said, «Mom, it was as perfect as it could have been».

It is hard to believe that putting our 12 year-​old dog to sleep could be such a beautiful and peaceful experience. Dr. Annie was obviously called to do this type of work. She is a gift. Her gentleness with both Lucy, our dog, and us was so appreciated. She talked us through everything and gave us options. Lucy was home surrounded by our love when she went to sleep for the last time. I wish I knew that she did hospice care because we could have used it. I will certainly call her when the time comes for my other dog. My husband and I highly recommend Home Pet Euthanasia.

I’ve been meaning to write a review for months now and am sorry for the delay, because everyone who is going through a tough time with their loved ones should know about these amazing folks. I called Home Pet Euthanasia when my older kitty was in need of help. I didn’t want to take her to a Vet hospital, stress her out further and have her last breathes be on a cold metal table. I called in complete hysterics and spoke with Todd first and then Annie, both of which instantly had compassion for what my kitty (and I) were going through. They talked me through the process and my options in a very clear way, and I could really tell that they cared. Prior to this phone call I had called other companies and was told I’d have to wait (meaning, they were too busy with other clients and could not fit us in). I was also given extremely high prices/​quotes (which, I know shouldn’t be a factor when you just want to make the journey for your pet as smooth and wonderful as possible) with the other offices. I felt that these guys had extremely reasonable fees AND they are truly caring and compassionate and want what’s best for you and for your furry family member. I will not go anywhere else in the future, if I should ever need euthanasia services again. This group is an absolute blessing!

It’s a horrible choice for any pet owner to make but Dr. Annie made it a little easier with her kindness and compassion. Our big dog, Hunter, was on his bed on the patio and Dr. Annie made a dear friend of him the moment she arrived. I won’t describe the rest of the process other than to say that she was tender with all of us — human and animal. The process was quiet and peaceful and Hunter didn’t seem to be in any pain at all. Dr. Annie also called me the next day to follow up to make sure we were ok. Thank you, Dr. Annie, for making a terrible thing a bit less terrible. You are an angel.

I have been a nurse for over 20 years and am very familiar with the difficulties people face when making end of life decisions. I have witnessed people passing gently, with love. And I have experienced the complete opposite. I always thought that when the time came for me to make an end of life decision that I would know exactly what to do… I was wrong. When our precious 4 pound yorkie became suddenly ill I was at a loss. We tried to save her until she gave us a look that said «please stop». I begged her to get better, and then I begged her to die. I did not want to make this decision. Thankfully, just 1 day prior, someone had told me about Dr. Annie. I looked at her website and read about how dogs express pain differently than humans. I took the «quality of life» assessment test and quickly made the decision to call. I was hysterical. The person who answered was calm and caring. I remember saying «hurry before I change my mind».
Dr Annie arrived and I knew she was probably the only human who understood exactly how I was feeling. I knew I could trust her. I held my little Roxy and did not want to put her down. Dr Annie allowed me to go through the process at my own pace. I knew this good bye was forever… it was excruciating. That was 2 ½ months ago and not a day goes by that I don’t think about that day. At first these memories made me cry, but now I smile. Our Roxy had an amazing life and a peaceful and loving death… who could ask for more. I am forever grateful to Dr. Annie

Sadly, our amazing dog, Zeus, was just too ill to get better. Our family loved him dearly bit we new it was his time. It was clear we had to do our best to make sure his crossing over was without fear, pain or anxiety.
For me, death is a part of life that we ignore, fear and focus on as a sad thing. I wanted to celebrate Zeus so that he would cross over feeling loved, adored and safe. He was such an awesome dog who brought so much love, laughter and joy to me, my husband and our family and friends. His companionship made some of the harder and bumpier parts of life’s road easier and I wanted to honor that. It was indeed one of the saddest days of my life but also, it was an honor to be a shepard for Zeus in this life and to the next. Zeus had the best end possible for any living creature: at home, surrounded by his favorite humans, being loved and adored, and then he went to sleep. It was an ending fit for a king and one that most humans hope they get when it is their time.
In home euthanasia was the only option for us. Dr. Annie arrived at the time we agreed. She came in and was very calm and loving. It was a peaceful and quiet passing, Zeus was so sweet, at rest and finally without pain. The whole room burst into tears at this point.
It was an amazing experience, one that was fitting for such a wonderful dog like Zeus. Dr. Annie made the experience much easier for us. We cried all day and night but despite the fact we knew he had to go, the service Dr. Annie provides allowed us to give Zeus the going away party he deserved.
I highly recommend Home Pet Euthanasia of Southern California for in-​home euthanasia. It allows you to celebrate or mourn your animal friend the way you need and want to, in the comfort of your home, so your animal is not nervous or more afraid than they already are. Dr. Annie has a lovely demeanor, very kind and gentle, and is good at her job. She is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. I’m thankful we had the option to call on her when our dog needed help crossing over.

It was a sad Saturday when we realized we had to put our beloved cat to sleep. I knew I wanted to spare her the fear of being bundled into the cat carrier, and brought to a noisy waiting room, and then into the cold room and the impersonal steel table and 5 minutes of rushed talk and injection.

The calls I made were answered caringly and compassionately, and they were able to arrange for a late evening visit so that a family member returning from an extended out of town stay could be back in time to say «goodbye» to our dear girl.
Dr. Meg came by when we expected her, and as promised, called to let us know she was in the driveway, to avoid ringing the doorbell and scaring the cat.
Everything she did and said was done with a great deal of concern and compassion, and while this is always the hardest thing to be done for our animal friends, the treatment from Home Pete Euthanasia was sincere and helpful. I’m glad our kitty could spend her last day and hours in her favorite spot, on warm blankets, and with only quiet sounds around her.

One of the hardest moments in our lives does not have to be the hardest to arrange and go through with. If you have made the choice to do Home Euthanasia for your furry family member then you definitely want to go with someone like this company. Something I thought would be a nightmare to deal with while grieving the poor health and inevitable passing of my best friend.
Home Pet Euthanasia was the best decision I had made when it came to my Dog Alabama. It’s been a couple years now but even today I am soooo thankful for the ease, the care, the attention to detail this company had provided me.
My girl was sick, and after numerous visits to the vet for a rapidly growing cancer… it became to late for any surgery to fix her. Her health rapidly decreased and I decided it was time… time to end any suffering she was experiencing. I decided to schedule her appointment for the end of the week since she stopped eating and I had to carry her out to goto the bathroom… at that point I knew she was suffering but trying so hard to hang on to please me as our little pals do…
Then about 2 days in she fell… she panicked… and was dizzy… I ran over to pick her up and a big sadness came over me as I knew I needed to do something immediately… well home pet euthanasia came to my rescue… they rescheduled my appointment for first thing the next day.
The experience was very peaceful, very respectful, and very loving… she allowed me to spend moments with my dog… there was no rush. there was no… wham bam… load your pup up and leave…
I spent some final moments with my dog in privacy thanks to the Dr., then i held her as they gave her the shot… and then allowed me more time in private with my girl.
I can’t explain how much I appreciate this place and would/​have recommended these fine folks to anyone who has ever asked me.

We were so blessed to have our beloved, Titus, for almost 20 years and to be able to be with him in his final hour. Because of Home Pet Euthanasia of Southern California, we all received the love and care we needed during this terribly difficult time. They truly care, understood, acted with compassion and mercy from beginning to bitter sweet end. Our sweet boy died as he had lived… sweet, innocent, loving and being loved, and purred up until his very last breath. He left this world in total peace and serenity… I have no doubt and am so thankful for that!
From Dr. Annie emailing and explaining things to me months ago, to her gentle husband Todd, who so warmly answered my terrified call, to Dr. Meg (A.K.A. Earth Angel) who compassionately and professionally entered/​exited my home and had the hardest job of all… I can’t say enough about this company! They truly do God’s work and sincerely care.
Titus’ sister died 3 years ago at over 16 yrs old and wasn’t fortunate enough to have this wonderful ending. I vowed then that things would be different for Titus. Because of Home Pet Euthanasia, he was able to stay in the comfort of his own home, in our loving arms, with his fur wet from our tears and just slip away in peace. I’m so thankful that I found this company to help me through one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made.
It was about 10pm on a Tuesday and my dog of 15 years looked so defeated. I knew I was going to have to put her down soon, but this particular night she looked like it was just time. I called this company (I had been researching for some time about where I could find an in-​home euthanasia) and they said they’d send someone by midnight.
And, there she was, ready, compassionate, not in a hurry, super sweet … we all hung out with our dog until she passed, which was incredibly sad, but could have been so much worse in a sterile vets office. And overall, it was very peaceful.
A little over a week later they delivered her urn to my house within the exact one hour window they said they would. They had to call a few times to ask questions and were always so polite and understanding.
Yes, it’s expensive. Worth every penny to me though. Thank you.

I want to say many thank yous for the compassion that you showed while dealing with Toby and of course myself. She was absolutely without hesitation the best.
It is very hard to say good by to a pet that has been with you from two weeks old, who is consonantly at your side from the time you wake up, to the office, vacation, you name it, Toby was there.

After a few days of puzzling ailments, our Bean took a turn for the worse and we knew it was time. Although Home Pet Euthanasia recommends scheduling appointments in advance, they are quick to understand our beloved pets can’t and don’t always give us forewarning. It was such a relief knowing that they could accommodate an appointment within a few hours of contacting them and our Beanie would not have to face prolonged suffering. Dr. Meg showed up and treated Bean with such reverence and bestowed compassion on all of us as she guided us through the process. We were even surprised to receive a follow up phone call by Dr. Meg days later just to check on my wife and I. I can’t imagine a better service to help a family in such a difficult time. Wonderful company, wonderful people.

We are SO grateful for Home Pet Euthanasia’s incredible service. In these extremely difficult times, our best friends/​family deserve the absolute best. We unexpectedly had to make this terrible call for our beloved 10 year old rottie Bruiser, and I couldn’t have found better service if I looked for weeks. Dr. Meg was able to come to us on short notice and was extremely kind, gracious, and caring and made Bruiser feel all the love he deserved on that day. I cooked him up a nice juicy steak and bacon minutes before, so all he knew was he was having a great day surrounded by his best friends, and one brand new friend. We cannot express enough how much relief we feel to know that our baby was comfortable and happy during the procedure, never felt fear or stress for a second. We owed that to him. You know it really means something that watching his suffering was so much more painful than letting go. We miss you so much, Bruiser, and thank you Meg and the rest of your team for being there and making this process so much easier for everyone.

Our 7 year old dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The one thing I was certain of was that I did not want her last memory to be at the vets office, where she would be anxious and scared. Dr. Meg helped us say goodbye to our fur baby. Our dog was able to be on our bed, her favorite resting place. My husband, son and I were all able to be with her. Dr. Meg explained everything very well and had sincere words and genuine kindness. Very professional. I was extremely happy with my choice and would recommend this service to anybody who wants to give their pet a comfortable passing. Thank you so much.

Cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Forslund and the services she provides. Knew exactly what to say and do without me having to say a word, which was great as I was a sobbing mess. The fact that my sweet boy could leave his painful body behind in peace, at home in his favorite spot — that means the world to me. Aftercare was outstanding too, including a kind person delivering my boy home to me and a gorgeous paw print with an inscription I wrote on the back. Lots of contact after to check in on us. If all vets and doctors were as kind and compassionate as Dr. Annie, the world would be a better place.

Our cat Lily was diagnosed with cancer in January. She was given two months to live, but fought valiantly and lasted twice as long. As the tumor in her mouth grew bigger, she found new ways of eating, drinking and coping. When it became too difficult for her to eat on her own, I had to start feeding her with a bottle, which she hated.
We wanted Lily to pass away with grace and dignity. She hated the ignominy of being put into a carrier, driven in a car and she especially hated the vet’s office. We didn’t want her to be angry or afraid in her last moments. We wanted her to be at peace.
We called Dr. Forslund at Home Pet Euthanasia to help us. Not only was she comforting at the emotional level, but the level of detail covered in the paperwork I filled out before the event reassured me that we were making the right choice for Lily. Dr. Forslund was very respectful of my family’s beliefs and emotional needs.
When Dr. Forslund arrived, she lightly knocked, so as not to scare Lily. She was very concerned about what would be best for both Lily and our family. Lily was able to pass away on a blanket in the grass, with the smell of grass and flowers, the sound of our neighbors’s fountain, and the sun warming up her fur. She wasn’t afraid, she died in peace, being touched by the family that loved her.
I have had to put down other cats due to illness and I can unreservedly say that this has been the best experience for my family. The service was well worth the cost and I would highly recommend Dr. Forslund and Home Pet Euthanasia.

Three weeks after saying goodbye to our Shepherd, this is still hard for me to write but I really want people to know that Dr. Forslund has provided us an amazing service and this was the most loving way that we could care for Lola on our final day together.
Dr. Forslund is compassionate, soft spoken and truly cares. These are qualities that cannot be faked and we thank her for making us feel at peace with our decision and being so wonderful to Lola. She was on time, encouraged us to spend private goodbye time and then when it was time, the euthanasia itself was quick and peaceful. It literally took seconds and Lola was able to die in her own bed. Dr. Forslund’s website has a lot of resources including a section on having your other pets present. Though initially I was unsure of this, I think having our lab present gave her the closure she needed as well. She wasn’t upset — just sniffed Lola a couple of times afterward and then walked away. She knew she was gone.
If possible, I would encourage anyone to go with a service such as Dr. Forslund’s over going to the vet for euthanasia. Dogs don’t want to go to a place that stresses them out when they are sick and near death and for us, we really needed our privacy. We’ve had to put a dog to sleep at the vet before and I swear I never will again.
The price is obviously higher then the traditional vet but when you take into account that your baby is going to be less stressed, treated with amazing compassion and be in his/​her own home when it is time, it is completely worth it. I know how hard this is for people who love their pets and that it can be an incredibly hard decision to make.
