This is the second time I use EZ Air Control for a furnace issue in Capriana in Ardenwood. They are great, Jose knows his stuff very well, and his prices are very reasonable. Naturally, if this is the beginning of a heat wave, or beginning of the cold season, they will be very busy and might take several calls to get through, but they are worth the wait. Jose is honest and won’t overprice you like some others HVAC repair folks. I have highly recommended Jose to all my family, friends and neighbors.

Jose is awesome. We had a problem with our A/​C. He was prompt in getting back after I left voicemail, and, amazingly, came to our home on 4^th July noon and got the problem fixed, because he was booked solid for the following week. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Even though he was in hurry, he spent some time checking the other a/​c system, and answering my questions. Highly recommended

I have a 1980s vintage Payne furnace that wouldn’t turn off, even after I replaced the thermostat. Jose diagnosed it over the phone with me and came to my home the next day. He could’ve taken advantage of me, I guess, but he didn’t. He replaced the control board only (an app $ 150 part) and it’s been back up and running ever since. He was on time, professional, and saved me a ton of money at a time in my life when I really, REALLY needed a break. I highly recommend his services to everyone!

Jose is great. He came and fixed my air conditioner on my Ponderosa house in Union City. Just fixed what was needed. Looked at my other one (I have 2) and said it was fine even when I was willing to have a «service» done on it. Great guy with very reasonable prices.

Does anyone else think this Winter has been WAY colder than last? Man, it’s been freezing and my place has felt like a walk-​in freezer for weeks!
When the chill hit The Bay about three weeks ago, right before Christmas, I set my thermostat to pump up the heat in my house. Unfortunately, after a thorough inspection, I realized my furnace was broken and needed professional repair. Timing couldn’t have been worse. Since we were in midst of the holiday season plus the frigid weather, it was impossible for me to get a tech out to my place.
After waiting a couple weeks, I finally got a hold of Jose at EZ Air Control. During our first conversation he asked what I did to verify my heater was actually in need of repair. I told him all the tasks I performed to ensure it was actually broken. After a 15-​minute conversation, Jose determined it was time for him to roll out to my place with his guns blazing!
I took his first available appointment which was about about a week out. He came by on a Wednesday morning at 9;30am. Jose brought his son, Brandon, with him. I thought that was cool. Keep it in the family! They located my heater in the attic and went to work.
They spent about 1.5 hours at my place. Jose inspected every little detail, trying to gather as much information so he could properly diagnose the problem. After first he thought it was this, then it was that. He tried his best to keep the price as low as possible. He was trying to avoid the expensive repairs/​replacements. In the end, it turned out the circuit board on my furnace had fried. I told him to replace it no matter the cost! No joke, two more days in the cold would have killed me.
After Jose and Brandon finished the job, hot air immediately started flowing throughout my place. It took no more than a couple minutes to completely heat my condo up. It felt AWESOME!
The heater has been working like a charm and I no longer have to bundle up at home. Gone are the days when my place is sitting in the 30s when I wake up!
I highly recommend Jose. He’s SUPER professional and personable. He makes you feel extremely comfortable and won’t attempt to rip you off. He’s honest about his work and business.

Jose is your man! First and foremost he’s just a really nice guy. He is also very conscientious, dependable, and reasonable. When his regular parts distributor didn’t come through in time, he drove out to Dublin to pick up parts to repair my furnace on New Year’s Eve because we were forecasted for frost that night and the following day was of course a holiday. It did indeed frost, but the house was toasty warm thanks to Jose!

Jose came in to my work to repair our heater at the end of the day yesterday 12/​29/​2014. My co-​worker was super pleased with his professionalism and reasonable rates. We strongly recommend EZ Air Control!

I just had to write this review as I was touched by the genuine concern Jose showed by returning my call on CHRISTMAS DAY when my furnace stopped working! Although Jose was not working on the holiday he returned my call anyway leaving a message advising he would be able to give me some simple things to check if I called him back and/​or come out the following day.
I was fortunate my situation resolved itself prior to his contacting me however, I will definitely use Jose for any future needs as his response says it all to me.

Even with all the positive comments my expectations were overwhelmingly exceeded by the professionalism of Jose and his team. They came on a Saturday night to fix my heating issue, the pricing was very reasonable and fair. They diagnosed this issue very quickly. Most people would have fixed the issue and went home right away (Saturday night after 5pm). Not Jose .he stayed longer to explain best practices of my heating and AC unit and how I can save on my electricity costs. Would definitely recommend.

Jose is a great guy and runs a classy business at affordable prices. He and his guys installed a brand new heating and air conditioning system in my house, which was being added on to. He worked with me at each phase as necessary. He explained to me that he’s not looking to get rich, he just wants to provide quality work and be payed a fair price for it. A lot of his business is service work. Make sure to call him before deciding that you need a whole new system. He may be able to get you up to speed with a few parts at a lower price than you would think! Be patient for a call back, sometimes he gets busy but he will definitely call.

Jose just left my home a minute ago and I had the urge to write this review. He came by to fix my heater and went up to my small attic which isn’t easy to get to. He found that the attic was already warm so it must be working! It was just a matter of me using my fan which was so strong, it was cooling the hot air. I know, I’m an idiot.
He took the time to explain what was happening and left without charging me. Shady contractors could have charged unknowing clients. Jose is honest and I plan on using him when my furnace eventually dies out.

Jose and his staff did an excellent job replacing a 25+ year old furnace and relocating it to the attic. He also helped work with my budget by providing the option to prep the furnace for AC so I would have it ready to go when I could afford to finish it off at a later time. Provided great communication and was always on time. I am completely satisfied with EZ Air Control’s work and would recommend them and use them myself again.

After relocating to the Bay Area from NC almost 2 years ago, I have found myself using Unilocal quite often when we have a need arise to hire a professional. As I have become a more frequent Unilocal user, I have made a vow to spend more time actually writing reviews so that others may benefit.
In this case, after spending 2 summers sweating it out inside with windows open and fans everywhere, we determined that the theory that AC is not needed in this area is, in fact, false. Maybe it’s our southeast US roots, but we needed some cold air STAT!
After checking out Unilocal reviews and contacting a couple of professionals in our area, we decided without hesitation to use Jose and EZ Air Control. Not only did Jose offer a very fair price for the service, but we felt like he was honest, experienced, and would take excellent care of our home. We were not disappointed.
I had to leave a couple of messages for Jose, but persistence pays off. Being self employed makes it more difficult to answer all calls or return voicemails right away. I get that and understand. When Jose called me back, he asked me to walk him through the project and my needs. He was able to give me an approximate cost and said that, if we were interested, he would come to our house for a more formal walk-​through and quote. We were, and he did. His price did not change after a review of our home and our needs.
Jose asked me to provide him with some dates I could be available for installation. After confirming with his installation assistants, we settled on a date. Jose brought 2 gentleman with him on the day of the install, both of whom were professional and considerate. They worked diligently all day to to get our AC up and running and also replace our 34 year old furnace. We couldn’t be more pleased. Jose and his crew cleaned up before they left, and Jose walked me through all of the work and instructed me on how to maintain the system, operate the new thermostat, etc.
If you need heat or air work done, don’t hesitate to call Jose. As for us, we are now looking forward to summer. Bring on the sunshine!

I called Jose to have him look at my A/​C unit that hadn’t been working since we moved in over a year ago. We set up an appointment date and he called me about an hour before he arrived. He ended up being about 15 minutes later than the proposed time, but we live in the Bay Area and sometimes traffic is a bitch so I wont ding any stars for it.
While he wasn’t able to fix my A/​C unit (it’s from 1980, so, no surprise) he was very informative and was able to get the fan feature on the thermostat to work. He was friendly, and honest about everything that could/​couldn’t be done. He quoted me for a new set up and went on his way.
Great customer service, reasonable pricing, knowledgeable; I only ding one star for the inconvenience of not taking credit cards.

Our heater went out a few days ago and i thought i can get by with our small space heater, but i wake up at about 4am in the morning and with no heater, it is really… i mean really cold!
So I called EZ Air Control and Jose called me back within 2 hours and scheduled me for a repair that afternoon… very impressed with his professionalism as well his advice in up-​keeping our furnace. He was in and out within 20 minutes and I left much more educated about furnaces and air filters.
