Our School welcomes everyone and anyone who is looking to get in shape, learn self-​defense, and improve the overall quality of their lives.

We are part of the legendary Gracie Barra, a worldwide Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu organization with hundreds of Schools around the globe. Our Professors and Instructors were trained under the Gracie Barra Curriculum created by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and our Head Instructor and 3rd degree black belt Professor Marcio Feitosa supervises their work.

We strive to touch as many lives as we can through the art of Jiu-​Jitsu. We welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about the benefits of Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu.

History

Established in 2010.

The first Gracie Barra academy was founded in 1925. Since its inception, the GB Family has been in constant growth. Under the leadership of Master Carlos Gracie Jr., Gracie Barra has evolved from one small school at the suburb of Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, to more than three hundred schools all around the globe, forming a community of thousands of individuals on five continents.

GB Upland is one of the more recent additions to the GB Family, but we will continue to uphold the core values that lay at the foundation of our success.

Ana Laura C.

Manager

Instructor Ana Laura Cordeiro’s drive and focus make her an invaluable part of the GB Team. An avid martial artist, she remains undefeated in over 40 fights in a glorious competitor career. Ana Laura finds teaching Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu to be among the most positive, powerful experiences in her life. Off the mat she is devoting a lot of time to studying English and learning more about the American culture.

Excellent kids program! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive instructors. They teach and demonstrate clearly and thoroughly and make it a safe and fun environment for the children. My boys enjoy training here and learn much more than just BJJ. They’ve developed such a great sense of sportsmanship, discipline, and taking care of themselves and others.

My daughter just started the class and she loves its. At first she was kind of shy but the instructors told me keep bringing her at least to sit and watch sure enough second class she jumped in their 3 rd class she’s starting to come around the class is great and the instructors are great with the kids you can tell they love what they do.

My son and husband both train at Gracie Barra Upland. My son started out in the Little Champs class a little over a year ago and has absolutely fallen in love with Jiu-​Jitsu. There are classes available almost everyday for him. The Professors and coaches are exceptional! (World Champions!) Such kindness, professionalism, eagerness to share their love for the sport and a healthy environment for every age! I highly recommend you get in on the action! Our family has also made some fantastic friends with the other families involved. Ages 3 — 103!

This is an excellent BJJ school. Professors Rafael and Anna are very knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Students are interested in learning and not out to hurt the other (which is important). Fun and the instructors are fantastic. It complements my tae kwon do training.

i love Jui Jitsu it’s a great workout and skill you get at the same time. The fellow students are great, no ego’s and in most part I suspect as a result of the talent and skill of professor Rafeal and Ana. They are excellent teachers, patient and very helpful. I tried Jui Jitsu 7 years ago and quit because the instruction wasn’t very structured and many of the students had «nasty» attitudes and ego’s. I’m fortunate to have tried it again with Gracie Barra upland.

I’ve been to a few jiu jitsu places before this one but this one is by far the best. The instructors Ana and Rafael are awesome. They do a great job of explaining a technique and making sure you understand it. The atmosphere is the best, everybody is there to just improve and to get better. I recommend going there!
