Koncepts Salon, Spa & Barber

I went to Koncepts for a massage and a mani/​pedi for my birthday. My fiancé had made a 1:00 appt, I arrived 10 minutes early and was told they were running a little behind but would get to me soon. I was not taken to my massage until 2:00, they apologized for the wait; however, having someone wait that long seems a little much. My massage was incredible, the lady was very thorough, nice and talented. She apologized for the incredibly squeaky table and had to leave the room to ask other workers to be quiet cause you could hear them way over the music. After I had a mani/​pedi which was in a really relaxing cute room. They only had one person working and there I waited another 30 minutes. The lady doing my nails was very personable; however, it was very evident she was either brand new or maybe incredibly tired. My nails looked horrible, she definitely didn’t know how to do a proper manicure. She mentioned that with the influx of new customers due to groupon that they pulled her from the floor (doing hair) to nails, again she was super sweet but I could’ve done a better job. I wouldn’t go back.

I received the Swedish massage. I was just expecting a basic massage but the lady that did it took her time and used essential oils and hot stones. It was a wonderful experience! I will definitely return and I have recommended to others.

Koncepts with a K. I went yesterday and had a great experience. I had a Groupon special for a mani/​pedi so I thought I would give them a try. It is located by the courthouse in Upper Marlboro MD. It was easy to find since it sits right on the street-​housey/​storefront looking building, but very nice once you get inside. I was taken very close to my appointment time which was great and the Lady who did my mani/​pedi was Valarie. She was very gentle with my feet which I was glad because my feet are really sensitive. Also, It was a small setting only 2 people get there feet done at a time and the person who’s working on you gives you there undivided attention which I like a lot. Overall, my experience was good-​service and professionalism. I definitely will be back to for another mani/​pedi as well as try their other services– It’s a Salon Spa as well;so they do hair, massages and facials. I really think they are worth a try.
Extra Tip: They have limited parking directly near the business it’s self so you will have to park .5−1block away. But the parking is free on Saturdays. During the week you have to pay for meter parking.
