Description

Specialties

At BackDoor Bistro, our top priority is our guests.

Our standard is to deliver to you wholistic, fine dining, wine, and excellent service presented in a charming atmosphere.

All of our ingredients are sourced locally and organically whenever possible; our menu changes based on seasonal and local availability.

We are also capable and willing to cater to your gluten-free or vegetarian needs.

History

Established in 2012.

Starting out as a pop-up restaurant open just three nights per week, BackDoor Bistro started small, sharing a space with a local café for almost a year. Over the course of this year, however, the wholistic, gourmet cuisine gained local favor and popularity — BackDoor Bistro became more and more popular. And thus, in July of 2013, they closed, re-opening October of 2013 with a restaurant of their very own.

Meet the Business Owner

Lindsey G.

Business Owner

BackDoor Bistro and Wine Bar was founded by Chef Lindsey Gilpin. Lindsey grew up in Vacaville, graduating from Vacaville High School. After a degree in business from Humboldt State University, she felt a need to explore the culinary arts, and so she did, graduating from the Napa Valley Cooking School in St. Helena. She worked for over two years for the Solage Resort in Calistoga at Solbar, a Michelin Star restaurant. She later also worked doing catering for her father’s wine business. She dreamed that she might one day have her own restaurant — with this hope, through hard work, creativity, and a little bit of magic, this dream became a reality; and thus BackDoor Bistro was born.
