Really clean. and I like their carne asada

I was looking for pre-​seasoned meats for a birthday barbecue, and found this place on Unilocal and decided to drive over! Great fresh salsas and guac. Guac is a bit thin for my liking, but I believe that is more authentic, so I get it. Tons of meat choices pre seasoned and unseasoned as well, thought I did not find a tri tip, but again, not an authentic Mexican cut.

I love the simplicity of this restaurant. The food is fresh. The environment is clean, modern and comfortable. The service is always friendly. The menu us a great example of simplicity and customization. This is the only branch I have been to but very impressed overall

Don’t let the appearance fool you. It’s tasty food, and in large quantities. Staff seemed friendly too. I got quesadillas, and they put A LOT of meat in it. Highly recommend. It’s like Baldos without the need to be blasted.

Best Mexican store in town, marinated chicken, marinated flap meat (arrachera preparada), always fresh vegetables. I just love going to this place.

This review is long overdue. I Unilocaled this place and read mixed reviews, I decided to trust my own instincts and gave it a shot. The burritos were delicious. The customer service was great. I would definitely go here again.

Love the meat, but the service is not so good if you’re not a man or white! Numerous occasions as proof. Very sad

Cashiers not very friendly in the one in vacaville they don’t do there best to help the Customers I wish they get some kind of good manners how to deal with customers before they start Been a cashier but I been going there for yeas and this cashier do not get experience yet.

We were in town visiting family and wanted to BBQ. The staff here was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Great corner store with reasonable prices on produce and special finds. Pan Dulce takes me back to my childhood. The Taqueria inside is Deliciouso. Love their tortas! The bigger store in Fairfield on Texas is just as good and they have aqua fresca in many flavors.

The market had a great selection of fresh meat. The produce looked fresh. Meandering around, I was greeted with many smiles from local moms shopping with their bambinos.
Lots to look at and the smell from the adjoining taqueria was amazing. After taking our time and being offered a couple samples, we were ready to order. DJ is a Chile Relleno fan, so that & the Caldo Especial was ordered for him. I had a chicken burrito supreme. And after a sample of Lupita’s Aquas Frescas, we ordered a small one to enjoy. This was her own concoction of OJ & Mango juice. Not too sweet-​but refreshing.
The burrito had plenty of meat. Not too much filler as DJ points out. It was muy bueno! Not a chili fan myself, I left that for him. But I’m told it too passed the test. The Caldo Especial was the closest he could get to menudo this day. And I’m not a big fan of «parts,» so I left that up to him to critique as well. And again, passed the DJ test.
We’ll be returning soon for their El Pastor, which, I’m told is done the old fashioned, proper way… On a spiket. Another good reason to return.
The market and taqueria were clean, the employees and patrons were friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

I really like this small, quaint, neighborhood market. Their selection from produce, meat & seafood, in-​house salsas, pastries, as well as their in-​store taqueria were all quite impressive.

The people that I met, from the clientele to the employees were all very nice. I’ve been here a couple of times and each time, I like to take a stroll of the store, browsing, just checking out the different items.

We stopped here for a late lunch which was perfect, not too crowded & no hurried pressure to decide with a dozen hungry people behind you in line. I haven’t been feeling well lately and was hoping to pick up some menudo but I believe it’s only offered on the weekends. The young lady working the counter was great, «Lupita,» (sp?) As I was looking @ the various hot items, Lupita suggested I try the «Caldo Especial.» (It was the closest thing to a soup that they offered that day.)

Lupita even offered me a sample, it was good… ‘And that’s what I had! Of course, they also had chile rellenos on the menu… ‘And just for god measure, I ordered one of those too. EL inquired about the Aguas Frescas (Orange/​Mango Blend), and Lupita gave her a small cup to try as well… ‘And we ordered that too! ‘Great customer service!
EL ordered a Burrito Supreme — Grilled Chicken. It was a good sized burrito, about 7 ½″ in length and for six bucks, a good value. I took a small bite and it I liked it, tasty, not dry, and a fair amount of chicken.
Personally, I’m more of an al pastor kinda guy, barbacoa also works! The al pastor is one of the the things fellow Unilocal*ers write very highly about here, authentically made, slow cooked on a standing-​spit in traditional shwarma fashion. Al pastor & a chile relleno are my usual default order when available but being that I wasn’t feeling too great, I went with the soup to be safe… The chile relleno was a bit of a risk. (‘Which I enjoyed immensely!) If you’re an al pastor fan then you would know how hard it is to come by a place that does it great & prepared properly. As I draft up this review, I’m thinking that I just might take a short drive and get myself an al pastor burrito… ‘Very tempting.
The Caldo Especial and chile relleno were very good. ‘Great tasting, good portions, loaded with flavor… ‘And lots of fat! (That’s not a complaint mind you, trust me… I have the @ss to prove it.) It’s a great, authentic, taqueria. It has that no frills, hole-​in-​the-​wall feel but it’s more than that… It’s also a local, Mexican market as well. (‘And from the regular flow of customer’s, a relatively popular one.)

Overall, great find for local produce, marinated meats, salsas, and lunch or dinner! It’s not your healthiest food fare BUT then again you’ll never find granola as tasty as this! ‘For a relatively small shop, Mexico Meat Market has a lot to offer. The people are friendly & helpful… I fit in like a naked Cambodian on a porn set & they made me feel right at home. Mahalo for the aloha, Lupita!

I’m a fan of their marinated carne asada. They have several salsas to choose from. Full & fresh meat counter & if you don’t wanna cook. they have a small restaurant. Their taco Tuesday’s are a great deal.

This place is the place to go if you want a Mexican Grocery Store. The people who work there are friendly and very helpful. The meat counter has a wide variety. I have used their thin sliced beef to make beef jerky. They even took the time to slice it the exact thickness I needed. The attached taqueria also serves pretty good food.

Excellent Mexican food. Top in town. Great value.
The trade off: This is cafeteria style not dining out with waiter service style. Great for lunch. No soda fountain. Sort of the bad part of town.
The connected store is terrific — good value and fun authentic ingredients to work with. Cactus y cabron anyone?
This is a great place to plan a meal around. Do take out. Select some great cooked meats, rice, etc. They made a great value roasted whole chicken one evening. Get some small corn tortillas, salsa and cheeses next door by the pound and have taqueria night at home. Learn to make an aqua fresca they have what you need.

Don’t let the name fool you. This a very good taqueria. A clean and tidy spot. Definitely in the top 3 for the vacaville area. I’ve been here a few times now and the folks behind the counter are helpful and friendly. Super burritos are huge and the combo plates are a good deal too. The pastor is legit — love the pineapple bits and its cooked on a real rotisserie (gyro style) behind the counter.
A solid 5 stars for tasty legit mexican food and excellent value; none of this corporate-​chipotle-​gringo style meals. An extra star for a fresh salsa bar with limes, pickled jalapenos, green, red salsas, radishes, etc. I tried the pork tamales special today for $ 1 each– Muy bueno! some of the best I’ve had a long time. I also noticed they have weekend specials like barbacoa and menudo. I will be back!

The variety of Vacaville eats has expanded in recent years, but nothing’s changed at the top of the Mexican food charts… Mexico Meat Market’s still the only excellent choice for comida de la raza. 3M’s pastor is still the only pastor in Vacaville to be shaved off of an upright spit, shawarma-​style, like the originators of al pastor in Veracruz, and flash-​grilled for a smoky lit’l bit o’ char. Indeed, this traditional style is not especially easy to find anywhere!
Mexico Meat Market’s staff are all proficient in Inglés. Maybe not up to Mitt’s or Newt’s or Santorum’s standards, but they do just fine. By the sound of her accent, I’d guess that the cashier is no less than 2^nd-​generation born-​in-​the-​USA. Then again, Brian… some Mexicans didn’t need to cross the border to get to California. The borders crossed them! Even this far north. Crack a history book, or just get outta Aztlán already.

This is where you should go for delicious Mexican food in Vacaville. Although it appears to be a local mexican market, the left side is dedicated to hot-​foods and a menu you can order from. Their meats are already prepared and you can look at all the different selections: carne asada, carnitas (in the green chili sauce, or red hot sauce), grilled chicken, shredded chicken, etc.
Chips are free and serve your self, same with the salsa bar. Horchata is delicious! So was their pineapple juice (very pulpy and refreshing).
They have specials too. We came on a Sunday and they had Sunday specials and we ordered a Mexican pork stew. The pork was literally fall-​off-​the-​bone consistency and it was spicy. Add a hint of lime and you are good to go!
Burrito: I wouldn’t recommend their chicken, just because they grilled it beforehand and it can be a little dry. I prefer their pork in the green chili, so delicious and flavor was just right.

Small Mexican grocery store with a taqueria attached. I wasn’t lucky enough to try the fried pork skin, but the boyfriend did and he said it was awesome. I’ll likely drive back up there in a few weeks just to try it. Crispy pork skin with bits of meat and fat still attached? YUM! It’s pork sexy!
Salsa from the meat counter was awesome and the selection of meats was plentiful.
Parking is a breeeeze.

The carnicería looks like a gold mine for people who know their Mexican food and can cook. All I can do is look and dream. ..
