Really smart electrician and came right over.

Awesome! They did a great job with several lighting projects at our home. We were able to get an appointment quickly, the electricians did exactly what we needed and cleaned up perfectly after. They are also General Contractors, so we will using them on our upcoming bathroom remodel.

I was helping a friend with his commercial juicer for his food truck on a Sunday. The machine died and I found Alan who doesn’t normally do this type of work. He was so nice that he let me bring the machine to him to take a look.
We were so lucky. He fixed the machine for me and let me test it out before I left. Definitely a good man who is willing to help and did a great job. He went above and beyond and saved us.

Unfortunately, I have to give Alan just one star. We called him to ground an outlet before our new microwave was going to be installed. The outlet worked for years with our old microwave but when we took the old microwave out we noticed it was not grounded. Alan came over later that day and fiddled with the outlet. He noticed the wiring was old and pulled out the wires altogether. He was rushed and ended up pulling more wires in the garage wall and broke the drywall in the garage doing so. Once he tried to plug something back into the outlet he realized it now was broken. He checked the breaker box and everything and said he would have to come back to fix what he had messed up bc he had another appt to get to. So we had a working outlet but once Alan worked on it and pulled the wiring out he completely broke it and now it doesn’t work. We told him the microwave was going to be installed in a few days and he said he would come back before the install but he didn’t know his schedule and for us to call his office to schedule an appt. Over the next three days we called numerous times to all of his numbers and left many messages. We never heard back from Alan. Not one call back after he pulled all the wiring out, made a hole in the garage wall to figure out what he did wrong, broke the outlet, promised to come back to fix what he did… we never ever heard back from him. I would avoid calling him and having him do any electrical work for you. Unless you want him to make your situation worse and not fix anything at all. He clearly is not interested in small jobs… he made it clear when he was working that he was in a hurry to go to another job. So I guess his way of making a point is to completely break our outlet and not fix it when it was 100% his fault.

Wow I couldn’t believe it… I called on Saturday around noon and Alan literally was downstairs in front of my building within about 5 minutes. Not kidding. My electrical panel was making some popping and crackling noises so his extreme timeliness was definitely appreciated. And the guy worked like a mad scientist pulling out breakers and switching wires with expert know-​how. Ran down to his truck to switch a breaker, quoted me for an electrical panel overhaul that needs to be done eventually at a fair price, then was on his way to enjoy the sunny afternoon. I quickly checked all the lights in the house and everything worked perfectly. If only every house call was like this one, the world would be a better place.

I am writing this review after having Alan come install 2 switches for my dental office. He knows his job! He came in at the time he said he would… (no 4 hour time slot like most repair guys often give you). His prices seemed fair, and he didn’t keep changing the price, which I appreciate. I am writing this review about 1 year after I used his services… (I thought I needed an electrician again and came on Unilocal looking for his number) I can’t believe I didn’t write the review before. I didn’t end up having to call him afterall (A quick call to my dad and disaster was averted… I guess he deserves a 5 star review too), but I have no hesitancy using Alan’s services again and I just saved his number in my phone because I panicked briefly when I couldn’t find him on here for a couple minutes…
A year later and everything is in working order. Thank you Alan!

Great! Had Alan come out to fix electricity at my place in Venice. He was super efficient. Clearly knew his stuff and just ran through fixing what needed to be fixed. He gave me what I thought to be a very reasonable quote and was on his way. I’ll definitely use him again when I need more electrical work.

After some good reviews on Unilocal,I gave them a call. Left a message and they have not returned my call in 3 days. Does not speak well for customer service.

Kudos to Alan and his team! I called to have my newly installed thermostat checked out. We had many freezing nights and so I bit the bullet and called. Alan explained the wiring could be tricky at times and so rather than spend hours trying to get the right combo of wires, he referred us to an expert. The problem was not the wiring but a faulty fuse at the heater. He could have dragged the repairs out but chose the right thing to do. I had the feeling that this was a good businessman! Call Alan for any repairs!

I phone twice to get a service call (spoke to Alan each time) and I emailed him as he requested to schedule an appointment. I never received a response. Therefore I cannot rate his skills but the professionalism of this company needs definite improvement.
Just got a call from this company. They said they never got my email. The Unilocal page has their website and on the website is the email. Checked and that is where I sent it. Oh well, they did offer to come out now but I have already found another company.

I called Alan on a sunday to help install an above-​the-​range microwave that required an electrician’s expertise… lots of wires going all over the place, etc. Alan came over to our place in less than an hour and completed the work in about 50 minutes. Excellent work, professional and reasonably priced.

Very hard worker and good prices, but if he gets busy you may never hear back from him on your needs. Has happened to me three times now and I’ve had to move on to someone else.

Alan is awesome!!! He came, he diagnosed the problem and then he fixed a few things doing the way! Definitely keep him on the speed dial!!!

in a word: AWESOME!!! like others i followed the great Unilocal to Alan, calling him midday after the second day of spotty power and surges. He was in his van, and asked me to email him the details and address and he’d call me back. I noticed that his office was literally 2 blocks away from me, so sent a google map along as well. A couple hours passed without a call back, so i thought, «oh well, must have gotten busy…» About 30 seconds after i had that thought i heard my front gate open and there’s Alan: he figured he’d just come by, since he was so close. He discovered the problem right away, fixed it and replaced some shoddy work by the previous contractors. Took about 15 minutes and charged me a more than fair price for his work.
I would never hesitate to recommend him and will certainly be calling him back when it’s time for more work.
Bonus, he has a sense of humor!

Alan was quick – but he would not show me a bill of sale and when I pushed he said he could just take the hot water heater out!

What a find — thanks Unilocal!Unilocal is SO much better than Angies List! I had such a good experience with Mr. Goldberg. He came out, assessed the problems and then came back THAT night with parts and fixed everything quickly and SO reasonably. I am hoping our HOA will hire him for a structural job that we have.
HIGHLY recommended!!!

He came, he saw, he got it done quick!
If you send email, he gets it — if you call, he has a good cell phone and he answers the phone, which is a hard thing to find these days!

This guy is awesome. Showed up on time. Followed the right procedures to determine the problem. Came up from under the house to inform me that the last guy had cut a wire and tied it together so that he could make more money off me. Then said «no charge»! (I obviously gave him money anyway)
Can’t recommend him enough. Smart. Fair. Knows his stuff. And someone to trust.

Alan and his guys did work on my old house and my new place. Both times they were fast, professional, reliable and on budget. Alan’s also up on all the current lighting and fixture options and has great lighting design sense. Can you ask for anything more?
