Advantage Physical Therapy

Dr. Matt was great. He quickly accesses the problem from analyzing your gait and other movements and by asking questions. He gives you relief while you are there, then sends you off with exercise’s to strengthen and correct. Great experience for me all around.

After seeing an orthopedic surgeon for my shoulder pain he recommended PT to help with my torn labrum. The therapist was very nice and patient with me as this was my first time. With the stretching and gym style exercises Lisa and Darmesh saved me from having to have surgery. The support staff was very effective in making sure my treatment plan was followed… I would go back

It hurt to stand, it hurt to sit, not a good thing… especially having a career where you are on your feet 8 hour out of the day. My back got so bad that at work I used a cane to help me get around (very bad for a person in their late twenties) Went to the doctors who gave me 4 different type of meds (I hate taking pills) After a few months finally got referred to Advantage Physical Therapy!!!
This is as good as it gets! Defiantly the place to come to if your in pain. They took their time no rushing me in and out, strength trained me, they are kind & considerate. They taught me how to strengthened the muscles in my back and got me back on my feet and acclimated back to the gym.
Now it’s back to myself! Hiking, gym & bike rides! Thank you Blayne for giving me back my life!!!

I really liked this place. The staff was all so friendly and helpful, even explaining billing to me. It’s a friendly atmosphere, where patients talk to each other and people get therapy side-​by-​side. They also have private rooms if you are shy.
I got great therapy, good explanations of what was happening with me, and I was on the road to recovery quickly.

I can say I was one of those people that grumbled at the idea of having to attend PT. I wanted an insta-​fix for my back injury that occurred in late February, so when my physician assigned me to PT I thought life was going to sting that much more.
I admit I hated it at first I was given routine stretches, where I thought my Therapist wanted nothing more than to make me some sort of contortionist. The first 2 weeks I was on a ²⁴⁄₇ grumble fest when I left the office, thinking that the results weren’t coming fast enough, and these damned stretches no matter how hard I tried would frustrate me.
But I had 4 more weeks to go, and I played them out til the end. Talk about a complete attitude change. Lisa was my primary therapist and she was incredibly wonderful and encouraging, keeping on me about doing my stretches outside the office. I cannot thank her enough for doing that, the more I did them the more flexibility I gained as well as the less pain I found myself in. Thanks to Lisa not only do I appreciate mom’s more, cute little lady is near due to have another little one and still working hard with silent grumblers like me, I also appreciate and value stretching. I would have never thought it would have such an impact to helping with my injury but it did.
I owe many many thanks to the entire staff. Each with their own personalities and equally wonderful, friendly, hard-​working, and dedicated (this includes the two lovely ladies at the front desk as well).
Had you asked me 2 weeks in I would have shrugged my shoulders and not thought twice about this place, but after 6 weeks I can say I would recommend and go back if ever needed.

Back in May I could hardly use my left arm so my Doctor (internist) had an MRI done and told me as per the results from an MRI that I had that I had a rotator cuff injury and tear in my tendon. Prescribed Physical Therapy so I went hunting for a good place to go. I picked this place because of their professionalism when I called to make an appointment. They asked me questions regarding my condition, Insurance and were very professional. The other place I had called just made an appointment for me and did not ask any questions at all. I choose Advantage Physical Therapy
I choose correctly. They have been great. My therapist Lisa while mangling :) my shoulder (to make it better) is a delight to be around. The PT assistants — Michelle, Jamie, Brian, Brent, Katie and Katlin all are great. Theresa as my PT sub when Lisa was out was wonderful to work with as well. They are all a team and it shows in how well they work together. Jessica and Johanna at the front desk are always friendly and upbeat when you arrive and leave.
When I first arrived I could barely move my arm. Within two weeks Lisa had made it so that my arm was 50% better. However, the Therapy did not seem to be fixing the issue.
During the 3 months I was at physical therapy my Husband, Mother– in– law and even Lisa suggested that I see an Orthopedic Doctor. I resisted because I was sure that who ever I went to see would want to do surgery, which I do not want to go through. I finally gave in and went to two different specialist who both just took xrays of my shoulder and diagnosed my ailment as bursitis. I have had two cortisone shots within the last 3 months and that has helped.
Bottom line —
Positive: I would definitely go back to Advantage Therapy
Negative: Never believe the results from an Imaging Center and if you can see a specialist go for it.

*I must admit that my review is about 2 years old, so you might take that in consideration whilst reading it. However, at least part of it is relative to the business culture/​philosophy, which I would be surprised to hear had changed.
My overall impression of Advantage Physical Therapy is that their primary goal is not the healing of their patients, but to make money.
The therapist that was assigned to me had a very flat affect and obviously just doing his time. I recall that, as is the case in most health-​care environments these days, I had to insist on care (that I received heat) before the treatment was received in order to reduce pain, despite having complained previously. I had the distinct impression that this was because it would take more time to accomplish. I also noticed little progress after many weeks and was generally unhappy with the service I was receiving.
When I visited the referring physician, he stated that the PT was purely elective and that my condition would get better on its own, so that if I was unhappy that I could try going without, or that he could refer me to another PT service. So I cancelled my remaining appointments.
Then began the phone calls. I was being hounded by them despite my telling them I wasn’t interested in their services anymore. When I spoke to one representative, she told me that my doctor had said that I needed to continue therapy, contrary to what was said my last visit. I immediately called the physicians office and was informed that they had communicated no such thing.
I suppose there are many different explanations as to why I had the wrong information communicated to me, however I felt deceived. I have told several individuals that they should avoid Advantage, and the referring physician said that he would not be sending patients their way any longer.
