Dr. Goodman was amazing! I am also in medicine so we got to chat a lot and she was excited that I had good insurance and I let her use as many of her tests and cool tools she doesnt get to use all the time. She was very professional and my exam went well then I picked glasses and tried on many! Ton of selection at Community Vision Center on Victoria (Next to Vons).
Only reason I didnt put 5 stars is I was told I would get my glasses in 7−10days and when I called in 9 days for an update they told them hadnt come in and wouldnt come in until the following friday (so thats over 2 weeks!) and I needed them ASAP since I was going on an over night road trip very soon. Then the girl got off the phone and said she would check the back and yep there they were! So she didnt look when I asked her to, I dont appreciate that. But I got my glasses now and they are gorgeous Valentinos and I can see! I will be referring my fiancé to them in a few weeks and as well

After years of playing volleyball and tennis without wearing glasses I decided to try contacts for the first time. As I’m a grumpy old man I knew that the office staff would be put to the test. The front desk was pleasant and all the pretesting was right on time. The initial exams were completed and Dr. Goodman was prompt and thorough, she explained the results and gave me her recommendations and explained the costs. I had asked on the phone prior to coming to the office about the costs so there wasn’t any surprises. The Staff (Candy) worked with me in putting contacts in for the first, second and third times. I thought I had it figured out but I couldn’t get them in the next morning so I called and came in and they sat down and trained me again. They were all very pleasant and patient with me. Today when I went to put them in at home with all the extra training I was able to put them both in 12 minutes (I timed myself). I’m very happy with the results and with Dr. Goodman and her staff.

Worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life! After confirming my insurance called me back to let me know that I’m not eligible until summer but failed to tell me that if my prescription changed it would be eligible. So when I went in to have my glasses repaired and they were not repairable, they wouldn’t fit me in for an appointment saying that it was booked and have to wait two weeks to even get in for an exam

Dr. Goodman is a an excellent optometrist. She explains everything so clearly and is very friendly. She really knows how to put her patients at ease. Her staff, especially Cesar, are also courteous and eager to help. I recommend this practice every chance I get!

My family has been coming to Dr Goodman for years. Dr Goodman and her staff take the time to explain everything. When my daughter decided to try contacts for the first time she was so nervous she couldn’t get them in, the staff each gave her tips and tricks until one worked for her. They were awesome.

Dr. Goodman is a wonderful, kind, and professional optometrist. She and her staff walk you through your exam and always ask how you’re doing and feeling throughout the process. The whole staff make you feel comfortable and welcome. I’ve been going to her for 4 years now and feel confident that I’m getting the best services. She has a great selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses too.
The wait to be seen is short and she’s very efficient yet you don’t feel rushed. I highly recommend her.

Best eye doctor!!! Also the staff is SO helpful! I had an emergency and was able to get in the same day and they saved me! While I was there for my first visit there were a few rude customers and the staff was still so nice (of course as they should be) but I could see people like that writing these 1 star comments. I am very happy with the doctor and staff! I would recommend them to anyone!

This place is a freakin joke! I showed up at 8:15 for my appt because I thought the lady said 8:15 and realized the door says they open at 9, ok so I’ll just wait in my car my appt must be 9:15 I prolly just misunderstood her, so 9:15 rolls around and I come in and the guy working the front says no ur appt was 8:50 so now we have to reschedule! Hold up how the F*CK is my appt at 8:50 when it says you don’t open till 9! How did you expect me to get in if your not even open! So the guy says we’ll I was here at 8:45! Well Thts great for you but I was sitting in my car till 9 when YOU OPEN! So now there saying we have to reschedule which is ridiculous because I passed up an appt at a different place to come here and now the other place would have been sooner then the reschedule! Worst customer service ever!

Very disappointed. Took my 5 (now 6) year old here last July for an updated prescription & exam. His eyes were not dilated for the exam and he was given the wrong prescription. Turns out he has a serious eye condition (found out after visiting an ophthalmologist) and he has been using a WAYYY off prescription for almost a year! Used our benefits up and now have to pay out of pocket to correct the prescription. Felt like his condition should have been noticed by the Dr. but it wasn’t even mentioned.

I’ve known of dr. Goodmans office for a while but never been in before. I decided to step in for some glasses adjustments. I was greeted right away by the front desk upon entering. I got my glasses adjusted also had some questions about my vision plan. The optician corrina was patient and efficient. Great customer service

I showed up to my appointment on time and ended up waiting two and a half hours before I was seen. The staff was lazy, unhelpful, and disrespectful. I asked them to look up my insurance information after providing the insurance provider and the staff was incompetent and unable to do so because of «policy.» I have been going there for years however there is no loyalty to customers and I will not be back ever. I do not recommend this place. Go somewhere else.

I arrived at my appointment time, was greeted immediately, filled out paper work, and was immediately taken back for preliminary exam. Went to the waiting area, sat down for 1 minute before Dr. Goodman was ready for me.
She was very thorough with the exam, and explained everything to my understanding. Dilated my eyes for further examination and sent me out as a very satisfied customer. I will definitely return.

Both my wife and myself have seperately had terrible experiences with Dr. Suzanne L. Goodman and the Community Vision Optometric Center in Ventura, CA.
First off, their office institutes all manner of unneccesary «rules» regarding how you are to go about obtaining their glasses/​contacts/​prescriptions. They basically will hold you hostage by making you come back for repeat appointments before they turn over the perscription, each time charging you appointment fees.
Second, if you don’t buy their obscenely overpriced glasses (they charge 3X the amount you can find online) then they will charge you additional fees ($ 10) if you need them to re-​check their prescription.
Thirdly, Dr. Suzanne’s attitude is really bad. I politely asked her some questions regarding these policies and she responded with great hostility and defensiveness. This is not a quality you want in a doctor who is supposed to be helping you. My wife had a similar experience, so I know it isn’t just me imagining things.
I recommend going elsewhere.
