We have been servicing fine cars and trucks for over 11 years. We are proud to provide auto repair and maintenance for the Ventura area and the area around Ventura. I founded Dependable Car Care in 2001 after working in the auto repair industry since 1986. Working at different auto repair shops in different capacities over the years gave me great insight into how I wanted to run my shop. I wanted to provide high quality auto repair and maintenance at a fair price. I started as a one man shop, and built it to where it is today. We have expanded the services provided to meet the needs of our customers. Our warranty, 3 years or 36,000 miles, is the best in town, and I can offer it because of our high standards of repair and the quality parts that we use.

Dan is so great to work with. I trust him implicitly with my Escalade. He clearly explains what repairs need to be done now, later, and even what to expect even farther down the road. He’s worked with me through engine rebuilds, transmission problems, oil changes, etc. and he and his team knock it out of the park every time.

Dan and his team are wonderful to do business with. Not knowing much about cars, it is hard to find a mechanic who doesn’t make you feel like you are being taken advantage of; and I never feel that I do with Dependable Car Care. Dan explains all the work that needs to be done and why, and is patient with any questions I may have. They also get the work done pretty quickly! Their courtesy vehicle is a plus :)

I have been taking my car here for maintenance and repair for over 5 years now and have never been disappointed. Dan and his team do an outstanding job of making sure my vehicle is well maintained and safe to drive, and they do within my time schedule. Not only do I bring my car here, but I have referred other family members to Dan who now take their car there as well. In fact, it was a friend’s referral that brought me to Dependable Car Care in the first place.

Dan and his team are consistently fair and honest, and their rates are similar (if a tad higher, that accounts for their exceptional warranty and paying their employees fairly) to the competition, and believe me, I have done a lot of research. Dan will carefully explain, taking all the time you need to understand, the reason for a suggested repair. We have been taking our Subaru Baja and Toyota Prius to Dan for several years now. Only complaint, and it’s minor since it allows the crew to have a life outside work, is that they’re not open on the weekend.

We took our 2005 Pontiac Grand Am in when the window stopped working. Dan let us know it was going to be a while since they needed to take the door panel off to see what the problem was. They gave us a ride home, found the issue quickly, called us back to tell us they would need to keep the car overnight since we needed a whole new window. Ouch. But, they got it done, picked us up at home and brought us back to retrieve our car. Simply put, I am very happy with the services I received and will be taking my car back to Dan the man whenever I have issues.

Reasonable prices and good service. I got my brakes done here, the brake pads needed to be swapped after my initial visit. Contacted the owner and he apologized profusely and offered to do anything he could to make us happy. I think it’s important when establishments care about their customers.

Spoke with Dan today, apparently the motor that runs the regulator was replaced and not the regulator itself. I let him know I appreciated the work that was done on my other vehicles, however, after seeing this incident turn out the way it did with this inifiniti of mine. I did not want to take the chance to allow them to correct this issue. Dan let me know that he would credit me toward a future job after I bring in the work order for the new regulator I had installed. This was an isolated incident and I appreciate the effort Dan made by calling me and letting me know of my inaccuracies in my review. I am still disappointed as I paid around $ 800 for this window motor from Dependable Car Care and it did not operate functionally and as a result of the window being pulled up manually there is now a vertical scratch that has been on my drivers side window for the last 3 ½ years. Furthermore, I was unwilling to pay for further diagnostics for this car and give them that 2nd chance to correct this issue. After pricing around I got my window motor and regulator replaced for $ 190 elsewhere. Being that the other work on my cars was indeed adequate, I find leaving a one star review was truly unfair and I am now raising that to two, thank you again for calling me Dan. I appreciate the effort made.

Dependable Auto Care is just that. Very dependable! I have taken our car and truck there a few times for service. I even get a ride back home as they have a local shuttle service. The prices are alot lower then what the dealer charges. I usually deal with Charles. I believe he is the manager. Very nice and goes the extra mile to get you back on the road. A few times they didn’t even charge me for a few minor things. Now that is service!

Friendly mechanics but I would get a second quote from another place before getting service here.
About 2 weeks ago, I brought my car in because my check engine came on. They told me my thermostat needed to be replaced (~$ 300+) but since my car was also over 90,000 miles it would be a good idea to change my timing belt which would be another $ 900+. I’m glad I didn’t jump to the gun and had my car serviced there because they were overcharging! I took my car to another auto shop and got my thermostat, water pump, and timing belt changed for only $ 240! I paid only about 1⁄5 of the cost they would of charged me and saved hundreds of dollars.
I appreciate them letting me know that my timing belt needed to be changed but I recommend getting quotes from other auto shops before selecting one. Not just with this auto shop but for all! Also, even though they are open at 7:30, the mechanics don’t roll in til 8am so if you come early you’ll prolly have to wait til the mechanics show up.

Dan try to send u a message but it wouldn’t let me through my iPad. You must have me mixed up with another customer. I was asked to bring my car due to not giving an estimate over the phone, I did. When I brought it in you’re employee gave me an estimate of $ 300 for back breaks without looking at my car. I did tell him how I called and was asked to bring it in but still he was letting me know the cost would be around $ 300 and then he tells me «not trying to scare you off»

I recently found this auto repair shop when I needed my oil changed. I asked about the price to have my tires rotated as well. Dan, the owner, told me the oil change would be $ 18.95 and the tire rotation was $ 15! I loved howDan and Charles took really great care of my car. This is absolutely where I will be doing business from now on. They explained in simple terms what they would be doing. I was incredibly impressed with this business.

I have had many problems with my truck, most of which bewilder every GMC dealership in Ventura County, but one trip to see Dan at Dependable Care Care solved my problems.
Not only are the mechanics there know how to diagnose and repair your vehicle, they come out and explain to you in simple English what the problem is, how it got that way, and how they will repair it for you. They even bring out the old parts and show you the wear.
The prices on repairs is reasonable and they do give you as many options as possible to help you get your car working again.
I cant thank these guys enough for getting rid of my headaches of auto repair issues and stress.
