Yum yum. Good good. Mild salsa. I enjoyed my tacos and choosing salsa from the salsa bar. Enjoyed the décor and smiling service.

I dig the crunchy tacos but the al pastor has a bit too much gristle in it for my taste. Carne asada is bomb. I dig their salsa bar. Sometimes when they package Togo others the tacos end up soggy.

Make sure you try the potato taco at least once. I’ve never had something like it before and pretty much get one on every visit.

I love this place. The fish tacos are the best. Looking forward in trying the pastor tacos. Portions and good size. Environment is pleasant. Employees are very polite. Will definitely come back

Food was okay. Not great. I had fish tacos– they came on flour tortillas– I don’t think they have corn. If so the option was not offered. Brother got a chicken quesadilla and a gigantic basket of chips. Salsas are pretty boring. Wouldn’t be in any rush to return and wouldn’t really recommend to friends. It was quick and parking was easy, so I guess it was convenient.

Hi! My friend and I enjoyed quite a healthy, refreshing dinner here at Snapper Jacks. Wow! Their salsa bar offers many delicious choices. One of my favorite ways to customize my dinner is the salsa flavoring. Also highly recommend their guacamole side. It was so tasty and made of the freshest ingredients. Warning! Have everyone at your table get their own serving. The place is clean, plays great music and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Enjoy!

Great spot for a quick meal. We had the snapper taco salad bowl and fish tacos. Both were great!

*This review is based on the Chicken Taquito Plate and Cancun Burrito* Pros: Customer Service Tasty food Awesome salsa bar Cool atmosphere Cons: My husband ordered the Cancun burrito(it has shrimp, real crab, rice, avocados and tomatoes) and received a burrito that was mainly rice. There was not enough shrimp and he only tasted the crab in two bites. He Definitely felt like they skimped him on the meat portion. Would I recommend: Yes Will I return: Yes! The next time we go we are going to try the tacos.

Great food and excellent customer service. My family has been in several times, and each time we have been more than satisfied with our visit. The chicken burrito and taco salad are consistently good. The salsa bar is always clean and fresh.

My favorite place to eat by far! I go to Ventura College so it’s so convenient to just walk over and get some great food! Everything is delicious especially the potato tacos! I highly recommend coming here. Great customer service and great salsa bar as well!

Great food but terrible customer service. Won’t be coming back. After spending over $ 100.00 on tacos and burritos we kindly asked if we could have a larger container of there secret sauce so we didn’t have to fill up a ton of smaller containers. The manager of named Ryan rudely stated«we are here to make money» and would not give us a larger container without charging us. Didn’t make much since to me, as you can go over and get as many smaller containers as you would like for free and we had just ordered a ton of food. So I spent about ten minutes getting secret sauce for everyone we had ordered for. To be honest, at this point is was not even about the sauce, it has been sometime since I was treated with such disrespect. Penny wise pound foolish.

I’m not a fish guy. I see a lot of customers ordering fish and they seem to like it. I rate the place a 3 because it’s okay. Breakfast burrito is alright but they are always wrapped in a way hard to eat – messy. Chips are standard and salsa is mediocre. Not bad food, and might be better if I were into fish. Seems like a white guys mexican food. Makes sense since most customers are white and it’s usually busy. Cinnamon chips are good.

On the day I went for jury duty, my husband was kind enough to come have lunch with me. I found that there was a Snapper Jack’s not too far from the Ventura County Court, and more importantly, was in the other direction from where most people go on their lunch hour away from court. It was worth it. Not very crowded(the older I get, the more I hate crowds) and looking very festive in its décor, we both ordered the shrimp taco combo plate. I liked this location much better than the one we normally go to in Thousand Oaks. Seemed cleaner, calmer, not as messy with salsa spills all over the place. Could have also been that they just didn’t have many customers when we arrived, but whatever the case, it was very easy to dish out the salsas, which this chain always has plenty to choose from(and seemingly consistent between the chain of Snapper Jack’s). The shrimp tacos usually come with cabbage, tomato and jack cheese inside, but my hubby and I always opt out for lettuce instead of the cabbage. We also get the crispy shell version. I tried their soft shell version before, but I prefer the crispy at Snapper Jack’s. I then add guac(GOTTAHAVE the guac !!) and salsa. Taco complete. What I love about Snapper Jack’s is this… whatever shrimp dish they have(and I’ve had 3 different items over the years), they are always very generous with their shrimp, AND their shrimp are always well seasoned. Do you know how many restaurants are stingy with their shrimp and/or don’t have them seasoned at all? Don’t even get me started. However, at Snapper Jack’s, they do it RIGHT !! I am always happy, full and content when I leave any Snapper Jack’s. While they have other food items that I haven’t tried, I am stuck on anything of a shrimp nature at this chain. If you love shrimp, give Snapper Jack’s a try, and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Fish tacos are good. Too much cabbage. Not great, but perfectly fine. 3⁄5. But those potato tacos, paired with the special sauce! That’s where it’s at, right there. Delicious. 5⁄5. 4⁄5 overall. I was hoping the interior/vibe would be a bit less Rubio’s-ish. Oh well.

Tasty. The place is nice, the service was pretty good. Not great, but good. They got both of our orders wrong, but they corrected mine without a problem. My only complaint… Ease up on the cabbage, lettuce stuff so we can taste the fish. way to overpowering. I will stop back in the next time i’m in the area. You should give it a try!

I was so excited to come back and finally get some delicious fish tacos after my last first visit, but was slightly disappointed at how the tacos tasted this time around. I ordered two fish tacos– in a soft taco shell and grilled fish. The tacos size is bigger than your traditional street taco and definitely filling. The only thing I really didn’t like so much was the fishy aftertaste I had with each bite. I don’t remember tasting that when I had the crispy fish taco, but it could’ve very well been the crunchiness of the taco that masked the fishiness. The store itself reminded me of chuys, with stuff on the walls, colorful and of course with an awesome salsa bar with the special sauce. After we placed our order, our food was very quick to come up, even though it was during lunch time and the dining area packed. We also ordered a side of guacamole, which was okay but not as great as the first time I had tried it. I’m definitely not ruling SJ out, but I think I may stick to Rubios for fish tacos when I’m in the area again. Parking can also be a nightmare… so come early!

This was my fifth visit to Snapper Jack’s and it’s one of the few places that I keep coming back. I brought Ruben a few years ago and he loves it! The plaza is shared with several other businesses and gets very crowded. Fortunately, there’s a quick turn around for parking spaces, so although it’s almost always packed, you don’t wait long. You walk into the left door, order at the register, then grab a table inside or outside. The menu isn’t too large, but still offers a good variety of Mexican-American fare with my favorite twist of snapper. I know that fish tacos are fairly common, but this was the first place I’d come across that offered a specific type of fish on all their items. And I love the snapper! I’ve always ordered Snapper Nachos($ 8) on each visit, so this was no exception. The snapper was delicious, but I wasn’t as crazy about the nachos as before. We also ordered Grilled Snapper Tacos($ 3.15/each) since I’m really into«traditional» tacos lately. I was weary of the cabbage that accompanied the fish, but everything was good — especially with the salsas. I wish I would’ve tried the battered version of the fish and a hard taco option, but there’s always next time! Oh yeah, the salsa bar is definitely worth a visit. There’s a reason it was voted Best Salsa Bar! There are two creamy«salsas» called Secret Sauce and Aztec that are really delicious. The Aztec is a creamy green sauce with cilantro and a nice little kick of spice. Both are really good with everything! I also like the pico de gallo, cilantro with onions, and medium red salsa. Ruben likes the Habanero salsa(which is supposed to be hot, but it wasn’t bad).
