Daphne Hendricks was our realtor in the recent sale of our home in McLean. From the beginning my husband and I were attracted to her warmth, attention to detail and knowledge of the market. She guided us through the process of staging, Open House and negotiations with a smooth discipline always responsive to our budget and needs. We sold our home in less than average time, at a very satisfactory price and with a smooth closing process. Key to this success was Daphne’s thorough and consistent follow through with interested buyers after each Open House. Since the market was slow and we were selling in the fall being strategic and dogged was key.

We are so glad we listed our house with Daphne! She was knowledgeable and proactive and communicated with us every step of the way. We felt like she marketed our house very specifically, and even had her wonderful designer, Susan Lex, work with us on staging our house so it would look its best. When we discovered that our new house in Tennessee was closing the same day as our house in Vienna, she negotiated those tricky details with our Tennessee realtor and the title companies in both states and made the whole process as seamless as possible. Selling your house and moving is always a huge undertaking; but Daphne made the experience much less stressful. Plus, she’s a lovely, charming lady and we enjoyed getting to know her. When I first met Daphne, I was interviewing potential agents in the Northern Virginia area. I was immediately struck by her professionalism, market knowledge, and passion for doing the best for me. Despite our unique, complicated situation, she articulated a clear plan. Her passion and engagement showed in that our 30-​minute meeting went way over, blowing past lunchtime without either of us realizing.
After we selected her as our agent, she quickly set us up on an online portal and started previewing houses for us. We were shopping from out-​of-​state and were hoping to make only a few trips to find our house, so Daphne’s pre-​work really helped in creating an efficient, focused search. Early on, we decided at the last minute to make a weekend trip to look at houses. On very short notice, Daphne put together a 12-​house itinerary with printed analytics and spent the full weekend with us looking at houses. When I say full weekend, I mean all day, each day. On Saturday, when we were deciding whether to put an offer down, Daphne stayed up until at least 11 PM crunching numbers on comparable analysis, despite having started the day with us at 8 AM and planning to start at 8 AM the next day. Daphne works hard because she will do what it takes for her clients.
With only a weekend to decide on a house, we had a lot of very time-​sensitive questions about the houses we had seen, and Daphne would respond almost immediately to any text, call, or email we sent her, regardless of the time of day. She was also reaching out constantly to the agents of the houses we liked and kept us completely in the loop as to what they said. Time is of the essence in a seller’s market; her responsiveness was extremely valuable and better then I have experienced /​heard about with other agents.
Once we put in an offer, Daphne was excellent throughout the remainder of the process. We won a multiple-​bid situation based on Daphne’s strategy and the rapport she was able to build with the seller’s agent. Her network of loan officers, inspectors, and contractors made the closing process smooth and her knowledge on houses helped in pointing out items to be picked up by inspection or things that will need maintenance over time. In the end, we got the house we loved, with no surprises, and we did it in a weekend.
After purchase, Daphne continues to stay in touch. I use her recommendations for contractors and she even introduced us to other families in our neighborhood that she has worked with. Daphne is a super-​agent. She is extremely responsive, organized, professional, attentive, and committed. Being a first time home buyer, the processes could have been intimidating and lengthy. With Daphne, the process was neither of these. Daphne is extremely organized and loves to tackle each step quickly and methodically, while doing a great job of communicating and keeping me in the loop. She didn’t move on to any other step without making sure I was completely informed. I did not once feel as if she was pushing me, or coercing me to make a decision. In fact she encouraged me to take my time, to make sure I was completely comfortable with the property.
Daphne read the entire Home Owner’s Association agreement to make sure I was receiving everything I was owed by the seller. She then fought tirelessly for me to make sure I received everything before closing. I am still in awe of how well of a job Daphne did for me and I could not be happier in my new place! She is amazing at what she does!
