OH MY GOT! This place is amazing! Got the Waffle Burger the other day and wow! Just wow! Will definitely be stopping here more often.

I have had this location bookmarked for some time. While in the area I was having dinner dilemmas and remembered that I wanted to give them a try.
Now I went in with the full intention of getting a waffle burger. I ended up with wings (JK style and Caribbean candy) which were great. The Philly steak egg rolls was different yet filling for me. I am going to have to make another trip here to sample that waffle burger.
They offer a military discount and the customer service was fantastic. The co-​owner was so nice and easy to talk to. Her daughter was sitting at a table near by & we struck up a light conversation and she was a doll. You feel the family vibe when you dine here.
The prices were affordable, place was well maintained and it had a «real» feel to it. It’s essentially comfort food with a spin on it.
I wish this business well & longevity. What are you waiting for? Add this spot to you bookmarks and get to gettin!

I tried this place over the weekend. The waffle burger spiked my interest but there was not a «wow» factor. I chose two stars for creativity. I did enjoy the waffles on the waffle burger, so I may return to try the chicken and waffle meal. We also ordered the philly cheese steak egg rolls, again there was not a «wow» factor. However the sauce was delicious. We really enjoyed the sweet tea and sweet potato fries.

I did an order for pick up. I order waffles, french fries and chicken wings. Unfortunately my waffles were soggy and cold my French fries were soggy and cold but my chicken wings were absolutely delicious.

This was my first time here. The restaurant is small and had a welcoming feel to it. The staff was friendly. We were seated quickly but we waited about 45 minutes for our food after our orders were taken.
I heard this place was known for the waffle burger which I wanted to try but decided to opt out. I’ll definitely return to try it. I had a platter with wings, onion rings and their cheese steak egg roll. The cheese steak egg rolls were delicious! I’ll definitely come back. A good place to grab lunch.

I actually loved this place being my first time and I ordered multiple items just to taste test and to my surprise I not only liked but loved everything. I appreciate good food and they have excellent food and customer service.

I walked in after a doctors appointment simply because the pictures of the waffle burger looked way too good. I got in there and THOUGHT I ordered a waffle burger but actually ordered a bacon burger.
So I confused the people in there which I was super sorry for bc they were a little busy. But it wasn’t an issue for them, they just put my bacon burger on the waffle buns and sent me on my way. I definitely goobered them up so I was glad they were so accommodating.
Anyway! I get in my car and realize I don’t have any ketchup for my fries, so I walk back into the store and get some ketchup. But after I got back into my car and ate a couple fries sans ketchup, I decided I didn’t even need the ketchup I got. Some fries are dry and flavorless? These were good. Moist and potatoey.
I ate all the fries and then started on my sandwich. OMG. I almost died in traffic four times tryna stuff this burger in my face. People were giving me the finger and cussing me out and honestly I couldn’t have cared less, they were not gonna steal my joy. At one point on my drive I was next to a cop, so I had to put my burger down in order to drive like a decent human being and I was so upset. I eventually pulled over at a gas station to get a drink but mostly to finish my burger in peace without all the haters.
It was so delicious. The waffle was soft and a little sweet; And the burger was well seasoned and juicy. The burger have me life and a rich flavor pallet. I even ate the pickles and I hate pickles (that’s really sayin something).
I was really happy with my trip to j&k. Even now, I’m sad I didn’t write this review yesterday because I just made myself super hungry thinking about the juiciness and nothing nearby is gonna be that tasty or hit the spot the way that burger did.

Staff are. Very friendly and quick. I ordered a waffle burger and 6 wings. My food was hot fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back.

JK’s waffle burger is bar none the best burger in the Hampton Roads area. The staff is incredibly friendly and I can’t think of anything bad to say about the place.
Honestly it’s my favorite place to eat in the seven cities.

I’m driving. I’m hungry. I’m en route to a meeting with an hour to kill so I go down a road in hopes of finding something. I spot a red burger sign. I park the whip. I pull out my phone, open the Unilocal app, and look up J&K Style Grill. 4 ½ star rating. I’m game. Let’s do this.
Not sure what I was getting into, I decided to just go in just off their star rating. I’m greeted by two friendly folks who welcome me to their restaurant. They tell me all the things they have to offer but tell me special their waffle burger is. Without hesitation, I tell them to hook things up. The only difference with this waffle burger is that since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, they’ve tinted their waffles green.
I really and truly mean this when I say, THIS IS THE BEST WAFFLE YOU WILL EVER EAT. I loved the burger aspect of this: burger meat, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, and an egg along with the fries served on the side. I LOVE even more the waffle. I’ve always been a fan of waffles, not because of their taste because honestly, I’ve never had a delicious waffle. It’s always been just the novelty of eat one. Today was a game changer. Soft, not too chewy, tasty, moist, everything you want in a waffle.
With a meal like this, one can expect a food coma (and well deserved) so I ate half my burger and boxed the rest for dinner. I ate the other half for dinner tonight and continue to be amazed with how delicious this waffle tastes.
Next time I’m there, I’m going to try some of their other menu items but I assure you that I will be requesting waffles as a side order!
And to top all this off, I had the opportunity to tell the owners how great their food was. They were appreciative of my words, thanked me for the opportunity, and invited me to return. All around great experience.

Ughh it’s more like a 2.5 but I rounded up bc the people here are just soooooooooo nice. The Food was just ok. The burger wasn’t as juicy as I would like it, the fries were overcooked, the onion rings were the frozen kind, and the waffle was way to thick for the burger. BUUTTT the wings were pretty freaking good!
*****Warning*****be prepared to walk out smelling like grease bc it’s an open kitchen.

This place is amazing. Keep up the great work. Best onion rings I’ve ever had. Burger was great, vegetables on it were super fresh.

FOOD IS GREAT JUST DON’T go to dine in. Ok so first the food, then the one gripe. The food is delicious! I had a grilled chicken and waffle sandwich, sweet potato fries, and wings. EVERYTHING was fresh, hot and tasted great. The waffles were thick and fluffy and had some kind of special sauce cooked right into it. The chicken was tender and seasoned and the wings were hot, crispy and saucy! I was pleased and plan to eat again soon; but NOT dine in.
The place is in an obscure corner of a fairly dead strip mall so it’s easy to miss. But if you’re fortunate enough to find it– you will be rewarded!
But now I must gripe… As I walked up the loudspeakers positioned on either side of the front door outside on the sidewalk through me off. Apparently there is an Internet radio station that is sponsored by J&K and always onside playing music and DJ’ing. On THIS particular day there was a comedian inside performing. GREAT — if you have lots of tables and seating; NOT great when you have 5 tables, a bar that only seats two, and WELL over 80 people in your establishment… especially since this day I came to sit down and had a party of 4. The place is so small us standing and waiting for a table to open up while people who had been finished with their food for well over ten minutes but decided to linger at their table to listen to the comedian– was a little annoying… There was never NOT a line waiting to order and pickup take out orders and so they’re certainly making the money to consider expanding the dine in area to accommodate the great food and apparent desire to also provide entertainment.

Food was incredible and service was amazing !!! Please stop by and let them take care of you. This place was fantastic and I will definitely be back.

These folks are crazy excellent when it comes to Customer Service and making things right. Here I was at work, having a typical not happy Monday when I hear the door open and someone ask for me. Now, we do not get outsiders at work or unannounced deliveries so I was at a loss as to who would be requesting me. Imagine my surprise (and delight) to find a sweet woman standing there with an orange Fanta and a bag. The bag had some tasty, hot and fresh onion rings (which are yummy! devouring them now between words) and a CUPCAKE! I just got the best Christmas present! This little visit was totally unnecessary as we had already decided y’all would be on our lunch rotation because our first foray in was so delicious but y’all MADE MY MONDAY! Thank you for taking the time out to make me feel valued and for actually reading our reviews. Y’all ROCK!

Came in during my break on Wednesday around 3 with my friend. My cousin recently tried J&K earlier that week, raved about how delicious it was and had to give it a try.
We both ordered the waffle burger with sweet potato fries. Both the owners were upbeat, generous, and attentive. J&K gives the «feel at home» mood. It’s a small place about 6 tables and open kitchen seats. You can talk to the cooks while your waiting for the food to come out. It started getting busy when we got there. It took about 15 mins for the food to come. I was pretty hungry upon arrival and was ready to EAT.
Took my first bite and it was pretty good. The food is quite simple traditional American style cooking. The waffle itself has a subtle sweetness to it which is great balance to offset the saltiness of the patty. I don’t know exactly what it was but I wish the burger could have been seasoned a bit more and was juicier. It was a bit on the drier side for me. That’s my only constructive critique. Personally for me, I don’t want to depend on condiments on burgers if I don’t have to.
We both ended up finishing our whole plate. Both of the owners were so surprised a petite lady like me finished the whole thing lol. I mean… what can I say, if I’m craving a burger I come prepared. The owner wanted us to take a picture with him for cleaning off our plates. Phew! I left ready to take a nap. Unfortunately, I had to go back to work :(I will have to come back and their the chicken and waffles.

Visited yesterday and it was a good experience… The wings and fries are absolutely the best things on the menu. But their customer service is on point.

Excellent customer service and DELICIOUS food at affordable prices. You can’t beat that. YOUR LIFE IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL YOU TRY A WAFFLE BURGER. :) Soft waffles with a hint of cinnamon and a juicy burger, cheese, a fried egg, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. I went the extra step and put syrup on it. It was amazing and huge! This place is a must try!

I like the whole waffle burger concept I think it’s pretty cool, the burgers here were good I’m giving j&k an extra star for convenience, there are more popular upscale restaurants that have waffle burgers in the 7 cities but are just not very convenient for me because of location.
J&k is quite plain when it comes to décor but that’s cool with me. The burgers were good as well as the wings and fries however the prices are a tad bit high in my opinion.

The ‘J&K’ stands for Juan Holt and Kelvin Dooley. They are the owners, managers and chefs of this establishment. The ‘Style’ is their cooking and oh man can they cook. I walked in here thinking it was just a burger place and left having had a masterpiece of hamburgerology. Yeah it was that good!
My co-​worker Mariah and I were politely greeted as we walked in the door and told we could take a seat anywhere we liked and we just that grabbing a table just about midway through the establishment. One of the owners, and I’m sorry I don’t know who’s who yet, brought us menu’s and took our drink order. I started looking at the menu and almost immediately I saw it… My dream burger. It was one of those moments where you discovered you had known something your entire life but weren’t aware of it until it was in front of you. The J&K Waffle Burger. It was right about then that I caught the smell in the air… Fresh waffle buns were being made. The entire place filled with aroma of the cooking batter. It was glorious.
I placed my order for the Waffle Combo and Mariah ordered a regular cheeseburger. A short time later our lunch arrived and all I can say is that a work of art was placed in front of me. What a vision. A hand made Angus patty with all the regular toppings, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, mustard, ketchup & pickles. Then added to the mix were grilled onions, bacon and a fried egg, all inside a waffle bun. The owner said «Think you can finish that?». Challenge accepted!
The burger was delicious and every bite had a wonderful mixture of flavors. I managed to eat the whole thing but I could see the future that day. The afternoon was going to be a struggle after that epic meal because I was going to want to take a nap and they frown on naps at work. :) Delicious, simply delicious. In addition there were some lightly seasoned fries which complimented the burger nicely. Mariah enjoyed her cheeseburger as well and she had an order of very large onion rings with hers. She said it was great.
The lunch hour was winding down so we wrapped things up and paid the check. Great people and great food. I can’t wait to go back and try something else on the menu. The chicken sandwich is on my short list… With a waffle bun of course!
