This location is open on Saturdays at 8am not 7am. The info on the page is false and inputed wrong.

Fast service and surprisingly friendly staff who is ready to help you out. The lady at the information desk helped me with my problem and sent me on my way in a short time. The security guard was also very kind wishing me a «blessed day» as I left. Finally a DMV that has it right

The idea that DMVs are terrible places is turned on its head by the experience I just had here.
Helpful, organized, no bad attitudes, even a few smiles during the process were nice surprises.
I spent about 40 minutes total, taking care of at least three separate items with zero hassle.
On the negative side, this is the worst restaurant ever. They don’t even have a menu!

I love how there is no need or desire to assist customers efficiently and expeditiously. Great place for family day trips. My son and I spend hours enjoying the «makes no sense» numbering system, crying babies and the I could give a crap you have been here for two hours look from employees. Also I am thankful for the DMV website for not allowing me to fix my issue online like a civilized human being, but instead forcing me like a barbaric neanderthal to enter their under staffed facility. AVERAGE WAIT TIME: is currently hahahahahaha

Despite coming early on the morning to a nearly empty DMV, having all my documentation, and being cheerful when I arrived. The long painful wait is difficult to endure.
The good news is it’s a full service DMV at a good location (easy access in and out), plenty of parking, and generous amount of seating inside. Still, that can’t overcome the snail moving state government administrative offices of Virginia, 2 Stars.

This location is hit or miss in everything. You can go there and expect to deal with someone that goes above and beyond or someone that is nasty and doesn’t want to offer you any help. They’d just as soon throw you behind the counter to do your own leg work (their job) and then collect the paycheck. All in all it kind of balances out. On some occasions the visit has been quick while other times it is outrageously long.
It seemed that years ago before they had a line to a counter upon entry that things ran smoother and more efficiently. All the extra bodies (staff) seem to prolong things and create chaos and confusion. That is their job, yes? After all, it is government.
The waiting area is generally pretty clean with a few floaters left from kids whose parents don’t tend to them or teach them to have good manners. The seats are not comfortable, but they aren’t terribly uncomfortable when the wait time is a little long.
Going on the website to check wait time is not always accurate, so don’t rely on it too much. It really does depend on the location.

Don’t try to call, as the DMV won’t answer. The line was longer than the actual wait, and customer service was professional and prompt. 2 stars for no phone service and not being able to reset my online account, AND for being closed on Jackson — Lee day with no warning (the website did not post info until Thursday).

I’m giving a DMV a 4-​Star, can you believe it… A DMV! (And NO, I have not been drinking at the time of this review…)
I came in to pay the $$$ to get my license reinstated again. (Third ticket in 3 yrs, Mr Duke was driving a little too fast on 264, whoops) The cost was $ 175.00 to do so, but hey, that is the price I pay for driving too fast, so it’s on me.
If you wondered where the cash comes from to pay for that spacious and modern Virginia Beach Courthouse district? Those nice brick ‘university’ like buildings? That was me in good part with my ‘contributions’ over the years, I assure you.
Short and sweet of it: Folks, go to the DMV about 2pm on a Friday afternoon. Seriously, think about it: Everyone is getting ready to party and Unilocal it up for the weekend. Who goes to DMV on Friday afternoons? Not many folks in there at all. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. (The wait in the line at the Wal-​Mart down the street took Longer). So that is the secret folks, «Friday Afternoons…»

Worst dmv in Virginia Beach. There is no customer service. They hate their jobs and need a personality class to improve their face motion.

It’s the DMV — it’s crowded — workers are typically friendly.
wish they would make DMV’s with a play area/​playground/​playroom for the kids.

do they do DMV appointments here? they did in California, so I just wondered if they did here also.
BTW, I’ve been to the one in VB near Trader Joe’s, next to McDonalds… that was was a bit larger than this one and less crowded, although the wait time seemed about the same.

This DMV is clean and orderly. You still have a long wait just like any other DMV.
The location is nice right next to a Target and Party City — that’ll cheer you up after your long long long wait! :)
