UPDATE: I had my cleaning today and i didnt feel an ounce of pain. This has never happened with any other dentist ive seen. Cheryl was outstanding and talked me through my entire cleaning to make sure i knew what was going on and that i remained pain free. I have never left a dentist smiling, but i did today. Cant wait to go back in May for another cleaning. I feel like im finally on the right road to a healthy smile.
Im confident that this place is the answers to my fear and anxiety caused for past nightmare visits to my old dentist. This place for one is gorgeous… Doesn’t smell or feel like a dentist office at all. As a new patient, my xrays and first exam was free. Dr. Coleman (the dad) is who i met today and was such a friendly, understanding and gentle man. He explained to me a treatment i should undergo for my gums and for the first time in 4 years, i’m actually looking forward to my cleaning (which they scheduled me for tomorrow, super fast) and to have a feel good healthy smile. and lastly, they even gave me a present lol! Highly recommend this practice and my fiancé will be coming here too. Extremely good find. :)

Coleman dentistry is the best. Prompt appointment times and they follow up after procedures. Got a call next day after major dental work to see how I was doing. Amazing practice, highly recommend.

I had severe anxiety and fear of dental work up until today! I’ve had bad experiences with dentists in the past but as soon as I met Dr. Coleman (Jr.) and his Assistant I felt more at ease. Today I had a filling and cap put on. They took their time with me and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. They took frequent breaks with me and explained everything they were doing and what it would involve and how long it would take. I will never go to another dentist! I didn’t even need to take any anxiety meds or use the free gas they offer!

I have been to the office for a preliminary quote to have a tooth extracted. So far the dentist has been kind and comforting. I will be going to the office this Monday for the extraction. I will let Unilocal know how it went and how post op will work out. Instead of Coleman and Coleman Dentistry pulling my tooth, they called on the same day and said I should go to an Oral Surgeon. They waited until the morning of the appointment. I was sent to North Coast Dental Surgery in Vista. It became an emergency situation for that day.
I did get the tooth pulled however the appointment was for 2:00 PM and the tooth was not pulled until 5:00 PM that day. The actual extraction took only 5 minutes after waiting for 3 hours to see the oral surgeon. Since the oral surgeon had 3 emergencies that day, the job was finally done at 5:00 Pm. Not happy that i had to wait for 3 hours to get a tooth pulled. I wrote on Unilocal to say «Stay tuned». Going back to the oral surgeon on Thursday, January 21^st to see how I am doing.
Hard to find a good dentist in San Diego County.

Looking for a new dental home for my mouth and decided to check out Coleman and Coleman. Called the office and Kim was able to work me in with Dr John for a complimentary consultation. I received a tour of their facilities, met most of the staff, and had a very thorough evaluation of my overall dental health. Very upbeat, vibrant staff and I was very impressed with Dr John. No up selling like my previous dentist. Felt very comfortable with the entire office and have scheduled some needed work with them. Looking forward to a long lasting relationship.

Dr. John Coleman and his team at Coleman and Coleman took care of my 12 year old daughter exceptionally! She is a new patient referral and we were looking for an alternative to treating «food stains» or what could be the start of decay of new molars without the use of needles, drills and sedation. After speaking with 3 other dentists and doing research of more gentle and non-​invasive techniques, I was curious about micro-​abrasion. Since my daughter’s problem seemed to be on the surface of her «grooved» new adult teeth, it was certainly worth exploring.
Coleman and Coleman is true in their representation of being «advanced» in their field and it took some investigating and the kind referral of a pediatric dentist to locate them for our situation. As a caring parent, I was so happy to find out that Dr. John offered this procedure and also felt it was a good way to go. I don’t believe there are many in San Diego that offer it and I was amazed at how varied each doctor’s approach was that I consulted with.
Dr. John’s care was skillful, gentle and thorough. He explained every step of the procedure as he did it and it went absolutely seamlessly. I appreciate his treatment of my daughter and his manner with her. She is almost a teenager and felt like he respected her with his one-​on-​one approach and didn’t «talk over her», as some professional may, just because she is a child. She was very confident and felt well taken care of. Dr. John’s dental assistant was also very instrumental in the procedure. All and all, what others said would take 2 hours or even 2 appointments/​days, took about 30 minutes. Fantastic!
I highly recommend Coleman and Coleman and they are now our dentist of choice!

I have VERY sensitive teeth and both Dr. Coleman’s take extra care and explain everything before I even open my mouth. Very gentle.

For being at the dentist. This is the best you can get. Small, welcoming, super friendly staff, and efficient. These guys get so much done in such a small amount of time and you know you’re not sacrificing one bit of quality in the process. They get you in, take really good care of you, and get you out. If you’re like me and you’re not really «excited» to go to the dentist then this is your spot. This is as easy as it gets.

I’m a new patient of Dr. Coleman’s. I found him online when I was looking for a place to get Invisalign. I already had a dentist but wasn’t crazy about them. Once I stepped into Dr. Coleman’s office I knew instantly that I not only wanted to get the Invisalign from him but to make the switch and just have him become my full time Dentist. My life has really changed since I found their office. My teeth look and feel better than they ever have and their staff is awesome! Everyone is no nice and make me feel special every time I come for a visit. I’m a patient for life and would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing dental office and staff. I’ve been coming to this dentist for two years now. Before I was horrified of going to a dentist. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with past dentists. This office is by far the best. I am now regularly keeping up with my appointments because they have earned my trust. I know when I go they will put my nerves at ease. I’ve had a root canal, crowns, cavities, and cleanings here and I won’t leave this office. If you’re scared or nervous this is the place to come. Try them out what have you got to lose!

Dr John is the best in the business and amazing at what he does. Going to a dentist is never fun or something you look forward to. I feel safe and happy when I am under Dr Johns care. You can’t go wrong with Coleman.

Honestly I am horrified of the dentist. I hadn’t been in over 7 years but I had no choice. After lots of research I decided to call the office to make a consultation appointment. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the consultation was free. Most of the other dentists I had looked at wanted $ 150 — $ 250 up front to be credited towards any work done in the future. What if I didn’t like them?. But not this office!!!
I was so nervous when I went in but Dr. John and the staff quickly made me feel very comfortable. I had the exam and x-​rays and we were able to come up with a treatment plan that fit my budget and gave me the smile I have always wanted.
My first appointment went without a hitch and thanks to the sedation dentistry I don’t remember a thing. Now I am all finished and have a smile I can be proud of. Thank you Dr. John and staff for being so awesome. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment for a cleaning.

I’ve never done well with dentists. Genetically I don’t have stellar teeth, so dentists tend to make me feel pretty terrible about myself. That whole «kicking a guy when he’s down» and drawing negative attention to someone’s deepest insecurities thing. The condescending tones I’m given at dental offices, combined with a general fear of pain and overwhelming financial burden have always driven me away from dentists after the first visit. I’m THAT person who goes once and never goes back.
Dr. Coleman was nothing at all like any of the dentists I had seen in the past. Him, his hygienist, and his front office staff were all very welcoming and accepting. I never once felt the slightest bit judged by any of them. Dr. Coleman listened to my problems with my teeth, and asked about any apprehensions I may have had in the past about dental visits. He explained his process thoroughly every step of the way. I felt like I was really the one in control of my treatment plan, and that he had given me enough information for me to make informed decisions. His front office staff was very informative and explained my financial options to me explicitly, and accommodated my busy schedule for my upcoming visits.
I can say with absolute confidence that I won’t be ditching this dentist like I have all my previous ones. I’m so excited to finally take control of my dental health under the care of a team that makes me feel comfortable and secure.

It had been 4 years since my last visit, but a filling fell out last week and I had to go in. I was very nervous about going in, but when I went in, they took great care of me. Dr. John is amazing, I had a big crack in my tooth and needed a crown. I didn’t feel a thing. The whole staff made me feel at ease.

Also, I’ve gotten the most comfortable cleaning here as well — I think her name is Cheryl and she’s booked like a month in advance! I like Dr. Coleman because he shares interesting tidbits with me while he works on my mouth and I really feel like I can trust him. I’m very picky with my doctors and he really puts me at ease.

Seeing as my previous review was thorough I don’t have much to add to it other than over the past 2 years I’ve had the same hygienist each time, so I can say there is very little turnover here. It’s not just about building that relationship with the dentist, but the entire staff.

I have had a long history of dental problems and had never been comfortable with a dentist until I went to Coleman Dentistry. I had more than a dental phobia, it was dental panic. I was in need of a cleaning, so I tried Coleman. The staff set the tone of the office. The ladies who great you when you arrive are so nice and genuinely friendly. First timers get a tour of the office (good idea) and the best first impression you could ask for.
The hygienist was gentle and took her time. I knew I needed work, so I wasn’t surprised when she mentioned it. I met with Dr John and was pleased with his calm demeanor. Everything I needed was explained without pressure. I could get another opinion if I wanted, and they would keep my file in case I decided to return.
I’ve been going there for a few years now and I couldn’t be happier with Coleman. No more anxiety, no surprise diagnoses, no mystery procedures. I’ve had several good checkups now and finally have a genuine smile.
