Pacific Family Chiropractic

A non working neck emergency brought me into Dr. Dette’s Pacific Family Chiropractic office. Located in Downtown Vista easy parking out front. I had no appointment he took me in off the street at 430pm. His hands are nothing short of magic he worked his skill on me and I felt better as soon as I walked out. Previous chiro experiences left me feeling overcharged and taken advantage of. Dr. Dette is clearly in his field to improve people’s lifestyle and not just a drive thru chiro office that wants to sign you up for monthly fees. I signed up for Unilocal just to review Dr. Dette he deserves accolades for his skill.

Dr Dette is great! Very professional and he is great at giving me adjustments when others say I am hard to adjust. I always feel better after I go see him.

I should have Unilocaled first. It didn’t occur to me to Unilocal for a chiropractor. I was in a lot of pain and went on fb and asked my friends and family for chiropractor suggestions. Then I emailed the 3 closest to me explaining my insurance and that I would like to stay in network because it covers chiro for $ 15 a visit and that I would not be interested in any other package. This place got back to me first and said they would be able to take me that day. Great, I thought. Well I went and he said I needed to do x rays first. Okay. That seemed smart. So I did X-​rays (even though an urgent care had taken some the day before and said I was clear and I explained that to him) and came back he next day. He went over my x rays with me and said I had very little space between my bottom vertebrae which both the doctor and my new chiro said is not true. He said I could pay over a thousand dollars cash now to come for the next 8 weeks. He also said my insurance did not cover visits even if I was in network. Um, no. I disagreed with him and left. I’m mostly upset that he wasted my one when I was in pain when I was explicit that I was looking for an in network chiropractor. Then I came to Unilocal and saw that he has done the exact same thing to other people. Probably even more who don’t Unilocal.I have him an extra star simply because he did quickly forward my X-​rays to my new chiropractor.

I would like to comment on how disappointed I am with his practice.
I truly believed in the beginning that he could heal my injury-​I even asked the odds he said 95% chance this will completely go away no more headaches, better sleep, no pain or inflammation.
I feel like I was a bit taken advantage of honestly. In the beginning I was given Xrays and told that a ‘traumatic injury’ had causes the natural curve in my neck to straighten, which is a bit odd knowing I’ve never had a traumatic injury. He recommended me to come 3 days a week for 3 months and assures me I’d feel better within a month. So I paid $ 1,000 up front. It seemed like I was in pain after the adjustments– which he always had an answer to, (your muscles are re-aligning.ect.) I believe that, but when the 3 months was over he tried to tell me its recommended to come 2 times a month (indefinitely). Which I could not afford.
I felt a little better at this point, even the xrays looked different, however a month later I feel like I did when I walked in to his office for the first time if not worse. I am not shaming the chiropractic practice, and yes it may work for some, I’m expressing my disappointment in the certainty he gave me that it would work-​especially for a pretty big hunk of cash. I would like to recommend going to a real orthopedic dr. to anyone who experiences pain or discomfort in their spine. I hope this is helpful to some.

Dr. Dette is fantastic! Had horrible back pain and decided to check out Dr. Dette because of a Unilocal deal. Soo glad I did! Had X-​rays to determine the cause of my lower back problems as well as any future neck problems. I love that I can walk in at anytime and get adjusted. Also, Dr. Dette is a fitness/​running guy and he has also given me amazing tips and advice about which running shoes I should get based on my chiropractic needs as wells as tips on my running stride.
He also is an amazing pediatric chiropractor. I have taken both my daughters in to Dr. Dette and when my 3 year old had a horribly painful ear infection it wasn’t until seeing Dr. Dette did she finally stop screaming about the pressure and pain in her ears. I always see Dr. Dette at any sign of the kids having pain in their ears.

I have struggled with debilitating sinus pain/​headaches for many years. Since I began going to Dr. Dette, I have not had one episode of sinus pain/​headaches. My neck pain is scarce now, and I feel so much better over all. Dr. Dette and his staff are so kind, and welcoming. The atmosphere is really great. Thank you Pacific Family Chiropractic. I recommend them to everyone!

Office had a posting on Unilocal $ 45 on first time clients for consultation, xrays, adjustment… etc. This posting was to be bought on Unilocal,when I showed up to office it was posted in window $ 39 walk ins and first time clients same deal. I was honored the $ 39 deal. Good thing i didnt purchase on Unilocal.The front office staff was professional but made me feel like there might be a catch. I received xrays and spoke to dr right away. Dr said let me review your xrays and come back tomorrow. Mind you I was in excrushating pain… he then said well let me check your back, he felt around and said oh your extremely inflamed do an ice pack a couple times and come back tomorrow. I felt very rushed and pushed out. The dr made it clear when I came back my so called adjustment and consultation was included in todays visit but come back tomorrow so he can really decide my treatment. When making an appt I was. told by the front desk tomorrows visit was a separate charge. I was like no the dr just told me different. I left and returned the next day. Come to find out the dr just had some plan for 20 visits at an outrageous amount. If I wanted an adjustment that day which should have been included like I was told at first was $ 50 on top of the $ 39. Then they offered 10% off the total cost if you pay upfront bc its an inconvienience to accept payments every visit… wow those were the dr’s words i was shocked. I also asked for some sort of documentation on diagnosis, solution purposed and cost and all I got was a business card with red sharpie marker. Horrible horrible… needless to say I would never return or refer! Mind you I would have bought a package deal that day had they stuck to their deal, not push me out and insult me.

Dr Dette is a caring chiropractor with extremely pleasant staff. His top of the line technology helped evaluate my chiropractic needs.
