I was visiting SoCal from Hawaii and wanted to bring back some tamarind treats for the bf. I was lucky to find this store, they had all the popular mexican tamarind candies. There was also tons of huge fresh bags of chicharrones in the store. I would have loved to bring back a bag home but it was too big to carry on the plane. There is also an option to buy the«dough» to make them, but I decided not to at the time(big regret!). Owner is very friendly but speaks limited english. Store is very clean and the bf is very happy!

I probably would have never given this shop a second thought if I weren’t specifically looking for it. It is a small mom & pop shop at a corner of a plaza. This place carries authentic Mexican snacks and candies– various tamarind covered lollipops, Lucas, limon, chaca chaca, wheat chips that can be covered in chamoy and/or hot sauce. It is a small shop that offers an alternative to M&M’s, Jolly Ranchers and potato chips. The shop is located near a high school and generally a busy area. I stopped by here as the high school was getting out. There were a groups of kids stopping in for snacks and hanging outside the store. If you want to avoid the crowd, then come by while school is in session.
