As little as I like dental procedures, I can always trust that Dr. Rader and his staff give me the best, most comfortable experience on my dental visits. Dr. Rader’s has such a upbeat staff and they always use the latest equipment, products and procedures. If you are looking for a great dentist I highly recommend Dr. Alex Rader.

Amazing! Dr. Rader and Dr. Rainero took me out of my misery. Had a wisdom tooth that was bothering me and caused some infection inside my mouth. After a week of my original dentist not taking me in or giving me any pain medication I had to go into the ER to see what I can do. I called Monday morning to Dr. Rader office and his staff spoke to him of the situation and gives me an appointment for 8am Tuesday. His staff sent me the paperwork over email so they can see me right away when I go in. Tuesday comes and Dr. Rader sees me and tells me the pain is from the tooth. He also gave me some advice about another situation but right now it’s my wisdom tooth. He recommends me to the oral surgeon up stairs from his office and his staff gives Dr. Rainero office a call. They explained the situation and told me to come in at 11.
One of Dr. Rader staff (really nice) told me to go in right now to ask about some things. They gave me a folder with more information and he even prescribed me some medicine.
Dr. Rainero did whatever he could and moved some patients around. Within an hour I get the injection put in and some laughing gas. That tooth was out within 5 min. No pain! Maybe later that day and the next but never have I felt better then how I was before that misery of the tooth and my original dentist not wanting to help. Thank You to both offices and of course both Doctors! Very clean and amazing office and staff. Even got a tour in Dr. Rader office. Forsure going back.

It’s been 2 years now since I started going to Dr. Rader’s office. Just this week, I finished my final restoration. Over the past two years, I’ve had fillings redone, crowns replaced, teeth whitened, etc. Dr. Rader’s care, professionalism, and work has not faltered. His work is impeccable and consistent.

I have been to so many greedy dentists in my past. I finally found Dr. Rader who is so professional, knowledgeable and great at his skills! He made a crown for me using his 3D machine in one hour. His staff is so friendly. Overall a great place to go if you have to go to a dentist… which we all do!!!

This is truly the best dentist I have been to. The staff is very friendly. The office is clean and very modern.

Other than the great cleaning I really appreciate Dr Radar. He is honest and doesn’t try to sell unnecessary work like some of the others. I have been to nightmare dentists that try and up sell thousands of dollars of cosmetic dentistry and they say that it is needed.
He is however extremely knowledgeable if this is what you are looking for. He made me a custom orthodontic retainer for a great price. I highly recommend you check this dentist out.

I found Dr. Rader by using Unilocal to find the best reviewed dentist, near my home, who was also covered by my insurance. I had put off visiting a dentist for way too long because of anxieties around having dental work done. So I was putting a lot of faith in the reviewers here to guide me to the right doctor. Unilocal reviewers steered me right! Dr. Rader is a great dentist.
So what qualifies a as a ‘great’ dentist in my book? Well first off a dentist is a doctor and, ideally, a great doctor should not try to heal a symptom or even an ailment but rather should try to treat a patient as a person. This is to say, that while I was indeed in need of good dental work the anxiety keeping from getting that work done was a big part of the picture. Dr. Rader’s attention to me as a patient and my initial anxiety was every bit as important as his expertise as a clinician. He and his staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and to assuage my fears.
That said, I believe Dr. Rader is remarkable at the physical aspect; the craft, of dentistry, as well. By way of example, I have never experienced local anesthesia administered so painlessly. Moreover, the precision with which Dr. Rader works is evident in the fit and finish of the crown I now have.
The fitting of the crown and the root canal that proceeded it were executed so meticulously by Dr. Rader and his assistant that the rhythmic efficiency of their work was calming and confidence inspiring, in and of itself.
So far, after a deep cleaning, root canal, and crown, everyone working in Dr. Rader’s office, from the front desk to the dental hygienist, have been consummate professionals and very friendly as well.
This is a great office and a great dentist.

We have been going to Dr. Rader for over ten years. Dr. Rader has done some serious work on me and has always been great. I came in with fear and embarrassment because I had gone to Western Dental (or something similar) and they made me feel horrible about myself. Dr. Rader made me feel comfortable and reassured me that there are many people who are just like, afraid of the dentist and avoid going. He did all my cleanings himself because he cared about how I felt and knew I was the most comfortable with him than anyone else. When I got over my fear I was able to see Cynthia who does a phenomenal job, remembers little details of my life and always makes me feel comfortable and most of all is gentle on me and get my teeth cleaned. If anyone ever asked me where to go, 100% absolutely, hands down, refer them to Dr. Rader. They have recently expanded and their office is absolutely beautiful, I literally want to live in the bathroom, it is designed so beautifully. The vibe in the office is relaxing, calming, and serene. No stress at all. Dr. Rader, Evelyn, Pamela, Cynthia, and the rest of the office are amazing.

I switched my dentist because I was no longer happy with my current dentist. I decided to go to the same dentist my fiancé is currently going to and boy did I make a great decision!
I’m EXTREMELY afraid of any kind of pain, but Dr. Rader made sure that I don’t feel a thing. Throughout the whole process he makes sure that there’s no pain. He is simply amazing!

I have been going to Dr. Rader for a couple years now, and I am so happy with him and the team there. The office was renovated recently and looks great. It’s extremely clean and modern looking. I have been with Dr. Radar for over 6 years, and I’ve always been very happy with him and his team.
He recently noticed that I was beginning to form a cavity, and booked me to have a filling done before it got severe. He asked me if I was in pain about 10x throughout the entire procedure. Luckily I didn’t, because he had given me enough novocaine to begin with. This example is the gist of the kind of service I have received from him for years.
He is very fast, thorough, and cares for his patients. His staff is attentive and quick as well.

If you’re looking for a gentle, professional and caring dentist, who provides best in class care, I’d recommend Dr. Rader. I have had fairly severe TMJ and chronic headache issues for many years, and Dr. Rader is the first dentist who has worked to address these issues as part of my dental care, and this has made a major difference. In fact, I drive an hour to go to this dentist because he’s just that good.
Dr. Rader’s staff is also wonderful — they’re warm, smart, and good at what they do. I have really appreciated the way they have advocated for me with my insurance agency and gone the extra mile to get me the care I need without extra cost. I am going to start off with that for most of my life, I had an extreme fear of going to the dentist. I dreaded going to the dentist every six months and when I was finally off on my own (after college), I did not go to the dentist for about six years. Yep, a looooong time because I was so afraid. Needless to say, I finally decided I needed to go in ²⁰⁰⁹⁄₂₀₁₀ so I asked my co-​workers for suggestions. Almost all of them recommended Dr. Alex Rader in Walnut Creek. Everyone said he was great even though a couple people warned me that they like to «sell things» there. So I thought, «What the heck, I’ll go.»
What an experience! Yes, my teeth needed help because it was so long but Dr. Rader was so nice about it and had me fixed in no time (a few cavities and a crown). And the office is beautiful. Someone is a good decorator here. Even the bathroom is nicely decorated. As a new patient, they have you fill out a questionnaire. If you state that you don’t like to be sol extra things, they will NOT try to sell you anything. I’ve been there for three years now and I have not been told I need whitening and sharpening or whatever it is that’s cosmetic.
There are many reasons I like it here but I’ll only highlight a few:
1. Dr. Rader is one of the most passionate dentists I know. And by passionate, I mean he really, really loves his work. I can tell when someone is passionate for what they do and he is IT. You can tell by the way he works, the advanced technology he uses and his knowledge. Everything he’s done to my teeth has been done with care, quality and expertise. I am thoroughly impresses with his skills.
2. Since Dr. Rader knows I get scared, he talks me through every procedure. For example, he’ll say, «You’re going to feel pinch in your gum right now,» «(while drilling) Does that hurt? No? Then you can relax because if you didn’t feel that you’re not going to feel anything at all…» It’s just SO great that he tells you what to expect so that there are no surprises. That’s what gets me… the anxiousness I feel as I wait to feel pain but Dr. Rader will make sure you know what’s going on.
3. The technology. In the past, my old dentist had to give me a temporary crown because they had to order the real crown and I had to wait for it. That took weeks! But at Dr. Rader’s office, they have the technology in-​house. In a matter of 10 minutes, Dr. Rader x-​rayed my tooth, measured it and then had it made with this machine. I was shocked! I don’t even have to come back.
4. The staff. They are so nice! I have never once gone in there when one of them was rude to me or dismissive. They treat you like you’re a regular at a coffee shop. I have to admit that I enjoy talking with each of them. They are so friendly.
Overall, I totally recommend Dr. Rader. He is the first dentist I have gone to where I don’t completely dread it. It’s a world of a difference from years ago. I actually don’t get scared anymore.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Rader for 5+ years and always enjoy my visits with him and his wonderful staff. He has a wonderful method of giving shots where I don’t feel A THING! As a child, I’ve had traumatic experiences with shots, cleanings, and dental visits and with Dr. Rader’s office I feel comfortable, confident and well taken care of.
He and his staff are very professional and focus on keeping my dental health at its best. Dr. Rader is very well educated and does not oversell me on any unnecessary procedures as I’ve experienced with other dentists in the past. I have complete trust under his care.

I have been overly happy with Dr Radar and his staff for the last 8+ years that I have been a patient.
I have sat in dentist chairs more than the average person over the last 25 years. From retainers to braces to night guards and cavities. I had an excellent dentist as a child and found myself in the hands of barbarians when I moved away about 12 years ago. You can really tell, when you know what you’re looking for, when you are in good hands.
Dr Radar is a complete professional. He always takes the time to walk me through the process and explains the benefits and drawbacks of the situation. Though the options can sometimes be expensive, he always offers a range of choices to fit within my needs and limits. Just remember — you only get one set of adult teeth for your life — So take care of them!
He keeps his office up to par with the latest dental technology so you know you are getting the best care out there (though honestly the mouth camera can be a bit much — I’m not sure I’m meant to see that!). His staff is practically family in their attention and concern towards you. Sometimes I wonder if my hygienist and my mother speak on a regular basis, can you say FLOSS :)
I would 100% recommend Dr Radar if you are looking for a trustworthy dentist in the Walnut Creek area.
(I have actually moved to Alameda County to multiple places over the last 6 years and refuse to find a new dentist — it’s worth my sanity to travel the extra mile for an excellent smile!)

Dr. Rader and his staff are simply the BEST and I ought to know. After 5 years of searching for a dentist I could trust, I was referred by a colleague to Dr. Rader in Walnut Creek. I had poorly done veneers that I wanted replaced. I had seen several dentists and either didn’t agree with their approach (replace veneers with porcelain fused metal crowns) or intuitively, I didn’t trust them. The replacements had to be an improvement and teeth I could live in for years to come. From the minute I started working with Dr. Rader, I was comforted by his years of experience, cosmetic dental education and overall compassion. The fact that his staff and office are highly professional helped with my decision.
I’m happy to report, all went well and I’m delighted with my new veneers. The entire experience went smoothly and results are what I wanted. Therefore, I give Dr. Alex Rader a five star rating. I will recommend him to friends and family.
One other comment: He’s very gentle and attuned to the patients needs. Dr. Rader ensured that my anxiety and pain levels were kept to a minimum. I can’t thank him enough.

Great Dentist, one of the best dentists in the Bay Area

How do I love Dr. Rader and his team, let me count the ways…
1. I have a DEATH fear of needles! I’ll pop anyone in the face (or anywhere within punching distance) if they come remotely close to me with that thing. Dr. Rader performed a root canal today, a real doozy of a root canal apparently, and I felt absolutely nothing. TWO THUMBS UP!
2. I can’t say enough great things about his staff! Typically, there’s an amazing doctor or dentist, but his/​her staff is sub par, or vice versa. SO not that case here. TEAM RADER ROCKS MY SOCKS!
3. The office is beautiful, clean, and cutting edge! How can anyone not love that?
4. The location is so close to my work and I love that their office opens early. I’m a fan of early appointments because of my busy schedule and this makes it very convenient.
