Jim’s Auto Body

Jim’s Auto Body did a great job repairing a badly dented fender on my Lexus, finishing the work on time and on budget. We’re very happy with the result!

Sad to say The Bearmobile had to visit Jim’s! However, once they took over the experience was painless and smooth. Jim’s did a fairly good job of keeping me up-​to-​date with progress and the work was first-​class. The cool little coffee mug that was waiting in my cup holder was a classy touch! Five stars — but don’t take it personal when I say «hope I never come there again» LOL.

Tom was my contact person. He was attentive and thorough. He called me almost daily to update me. The work was perfect. I’m a very satisfied customer. Highly recommend them.

A negative rating would be more appropriate. Took several weeks and three return trips to have my car repaired. Had to involve our insurance company who categorically told them that their work was not up to standard. Failed to perform wheel alignment and called to let me know after having the car for two weeks and on top of it broke the springs on the hood. Worst customer service. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

These folks were absolutely wonderful. Kirk was particularly helpful and made the whole process of fixing our car so stress-​free and simple. The pricing was fair and the work was perfect. They even cleaned the car for us — which is a nice touch! I highly recommend Jim’s Auto Body!

I got rear ended and the person who rear ended me’s insurance company gave me a choice between Jim’s, Cooks, and Mike’s. I had a bad experience with Cooks, so I opted for Jim’s.
I arrived at Jim’s early one morning, checked in and got no look of recognition from the cold receptionist when I told her my name, despite me calling their office the day before to confirm that they had my claim on file, which they said they did. She then had problems locating my file in her binders but said my name sounded familiar. In the meantime, she had me wait and offered me refreshments. Music in the office ranges from Clapton to soft rock radio. There are nonni’s dark chocolate biscotti, coffee in pots, tea, water jug, and sodas in mini fridge. I waited about 20 minutes until they finished the estimate. Tom presented me with the info and let me know when to come back. He never introduced himself formally to me, moderately friendly, and short with his communication.
The rest of my dealings with Jim’s yielded a similar experience… cold receptionist (including a miscommunication regarding whether or not I could wax my bumper… clearly, I misunderstood what she was trying to communicate and she did not correct me. I confirmed the information with my service contact, who thank goodness, was much clearer and friendlier), short and business like dealings with my contact for the service (including a phone call where I said hello? for about 10 seconds before receiving some sort of greeting on the other line).
Pros: easy to get a rental car through Hertz and drop it off at Jim’s when I retrieved my car, on time with the estimate that was given to me, and they almost fully corrected a dent that was in my car before the accident (a dent that was not fixed by Cooks).
I’ll try Mike’s if I ever get rear ended again, just to avoid the receptionist here, who was consistently unfriendly.

Highly recommended! Stopped by late last week after discovering a side/​rear panel had mysteriously separated to see if Jim’s could help. I’m new to the area and had no idea what body shop to go to, but between the Unilocal reviews and Jim’s being a couple of miles from my office, it was a no-​brainer. Robert took a look and said if I came by early this week, they could take care of it in about a half hour. Not only did they fix it (replaced some screws/​brackets etc.), but the service was on the house! What place gives you 30 minutes of their tech’s time, labor and parts, free of charge, these days? I guess Jim’s Auto Body does :) The waiting area was clean and comfortable as well. Though I hope to never need body work again, I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my car back to Jim’s if I was in that unfortunate circumstance.

This review is based on Customer Service alone. I was in a car accident and Jim’s is a preferred body shop of my insurance company that is close to my house so that’s why we chose them.
After being there for two days our estimator called my husband (who didn’t drop off the car and was not involved in the accident) and asked about the damage and said that it was from an old incident.
My husband left me a voicemail regarding the conversation and I called the estimator back.
The individual I spoke to ACCUSED me of lying about the accident stating that the accident couldn’t have happened like I said it did. He then said that my husband gave him a different account of the accident. I was confused and informed him that my husband wasn’t even involved so I don’t know why he would even say that. I called my husband after I completed the call and my husband said that was a complete lie.
Needless to say we are having our insurance company move our car to a different collision shop.
TL;DR — Horrible experience, would not recommend and would never return.

Really great customer service! I dropped off my car after I rear ended someone in my 3 week old car and my insurance company recommended Jim’s. The front of my car looked pretty bad (to me) but they fixed it in one day and it looks like a new car again.
Tom was really great about checking in and letting me know the progress.
Hopefully I won’t need auto repairs again but if I do I will definitely go back and I will recommend Jim’s to my friends.
Oh…and they washed my car for me too!!!

Worked with Tom on the repair of my Acura. Great service from start to finish with daily updates and meeting his projected completion date. BTW, the music in the lobby gets better in the late afternoon! That’s everyone at Jim’s for the awesome service!

Referred by my insurance to have some under-​body work completed on my 1 year old Mazda CX-​5. I was kept up to date with the progress and work was completed 3 days earlier than the original estimated timeframe. I felt like I was driving away a new car as it was cleaned up so well too. I’d highly recommend Jim’s Autobody!

I went in for an estimate. The person helping me was very friendly until I mentioned I was getting estimates at multiple places. He suddenly became very short with me. I took my business elsewhere.

I was referred here by my insurance company after an accident. They were really helpful and friendly throughout the entire process and I was happy with their work. They were able to give me an estimate of when my car would be ready right away and then were even done with the work a day earlier than promised. When I needed things out of my car they let me come by and get them without any hassle. They were also happy to accommodate me when I wasn’t able to pick my car up during their business hours. And I was thrilled when I picked my car up and found that they had detailed the inside. It was above and beyond service. This was about a month ago and so far I haven’t had any problems with the work they did. I would definitely do business with them again, although, since it would mean something had happened to my car, I kind of hope I never need to again.

This place got number #1 in my book! Someone as picky as me to be satisfied should definitely tell you something. They made my car look good as new! Though they did get grease or something in my backseat, nothing I can’t deal with myself. I DID just drop off my car and let them deal with no hassling them or anything bc again it was MY fault I got into a wreck! So I just have appreciation for places like Jim’s. Their LIFETIME GUARANTEE on their work is unbeatable though. I like that type of work.

They did a good job on my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid after an accident. I did notice that the lines on the front bumper/​from fenders are a little off though. All in all a good experience

By far the best auto body shop experience I’ve ever had. The estimate was quick and they stayed true to their estimate of time my car would need to be there. The staff had great communication about what was happening with my car. I definitely recommend this shop for collision repairs.

Great experience at Jim’s Auto Body!
I went in today after having a bad experience with their competition next door. I used Jim’s about 8 years ago and had a great experience then. I initially went with their competition because that’s who my insurance company, State Farm, tried to get me to go with. I had a really bad experience with the competition (Cooks Collision), but my experience at Jim’s could not have been better.
The woman who greeted me was friendly and efficient. She took my insurance paperwork, asked me to have a seat, made a copy of everything and then returned it to me in the lobby. She told me that an estimator would be right with me.
Within moments a guy came up and introduced himself. We went to look at my car. He took his time reviewing my insurance estimate and my car. He took pictures and asked questions. It was clear that he wanted to get to know as much about my car and the necessary repairs as he could.
He told me that he would have parts back in 2 — 3 days and they could begin work then. He said to wait until then to bring my car in and that would cut down on my rental costs. He went over the process for payment (insurance/​deductible).
When your car is damaged you want a facility that knows how to make quality repairs and understands customer service. Jim’s Auto Body has it all.

I am, unfortunately, a repeat customer. If you find yourself in the need for body work, Jim’s is the best choice to make. Pete is knowledgeable and the work is always done on time and with great results. This is the way a business should operate. I recommend Jim’s very highly. But don’t get in a crash! Not highly recommended.
