I had been to another store prior and they were very rude and unprofessional, so I was upset, but not after the experience I had at Morgan’s!

They helped me rebuild a head for a 1998 Acura Integra with Supertech valves and Skunk2 Springs.
I had previously mis-​shifted and bent a valve guide. They suggested I replace the valve guides since I had bent the one, which wasn’t a big deal.
The head performed great after the fact and would definitely return for machining services.

My boyfriend bought $ 350 worth of fittings and other parts for his car, he used some of what he bought and found that he needed different parts and some were wrong so decided to return what wasn’t needed to buy the right fittings.
When he got to the store, the lady greeted him with attitude and was not happy about the return and said «You can’t return all of this.» My boyfriend replied «Why not? You told me I could return whatever wasn’t used. I have my receipt and haven’t used any of it.» She said «I didn’t mean all of it!» (It wasn’t everything) He said «Relax, I’m still going to spend money on more things, I know exactly what I need now. «She was not happy and showed it.
After the return, she was short with him and wasn’t as helpful as before… It’s unfortunate that they’re lacking in customer service because they have a pretty good parts selection.
He is building a car and will need more parts but they have lost a loyal customer, we will continue to shop at Summit Racing, Jegs and Gottelis speed shop even though it’s a lot further from our home but they have great customer service and Teddy is very helpful…
Not to mention, it took over an hour to get all of his parts together on the purchasing visit to Morgan’s. (I was waiting in the car). The two stars is because they have a decent parts selection and speed shops are a rarity.

Buyer beware. I tried to bring my business here to keep it local for many years now. Every time I visit I am either treated with an attitude as if I’m an idiot due to lack of knowledge of certain products. They are not willing to educate and help what so ever and prices are outrageous. I was quoted $ 900 to clean heads and a value job which I got done for $ 350 at Joe’s Machine shop in Concord. When I was given the $ 900 quote by Tim he then asked me if I was going to price shop, don’t waste his time and get out of the store that was the straw that broke the camel’s back, I couldn’t take it any longer and had to post this review. FYI– Any quotes that are given are not hard prices and is just an estimated price and then you are charged by the hour. I was told that they would internet price matched and when purchasing the product they changed their mind. It would be nice to have a local speed shop that were welcoming, informative and fair priced, instead I now take my business to Summit online and Joe’s Machine shop.

I have to give Morgan’s all 5 stars due to the fact they are the only speed shop left in town.
We all know you can find an internet forum on any subject for advice and buy all your parts from Jegs and Summit. But to be able to walk in and talk to guy as knowledgeable as Chris and get your parts on the spot, has to be valued.

AMAZING SERVICE. Needed a new battery ASAP and they were quick and thorough. Chris was so helpful and explained everything and even helped prevent future disasters. We love this place!

I like Morgans. I wished I could say I ordered more of parts there. But with sales tax and shipping I tend to play the system and get things from Nevada where there is no state sales tax and free shipping.
I do use morgans for advice, small electrical parts, which they have great stock of. Suspension parts. Chris and Tim really know there stuff. My friend had them build a motor for him, it ran great.
They are one of the last remaining machine shops, this kind of business is going away due to the advent of the «Crate Engine.» People just aren’t rebuilding things that much anymore. I myself got a used LS1 from a recycling center and it runs like new. I didn’t have to do anything except get a computer tune.
I do try to shop there for my needs because I want them to stick around. Thanks Guys!!!

Tim DID build my 455 and it runs like a raped ape. These guys have more knowledge than anyone around. Next maybe my 389 pontiac will be in their shop. I’ll have to save up for awhile first.

From what I hear the machine work is great! O. G is a wizard back there doing all the machine work. Good inventory and Chris is very knowledgeable.

I just now stopped in to get replacement windshield wiper blades. Garrett was GREAT about explaining the difference between the stock junk on my Jeep and my brand new silicone blades. The lady at the front was just as great. I’ll be back again!

very unimpressed — made me a recommendation on tire cables. Turns out they really weren’t knowledgeable on the subject. The cables came with no bag, and I had to but an extra cable to make them work. Then when I found better cables a day later, I was told ‘no returns’. Take your business somewhere else

Tim is the most knowledgeable machinist for high performance engines I have ever come across. He was able to repair the poor machining done on my block by another shop and provide some excellent advice. For high performance engine machining, I would not go anywhere else. Also No BS as to when my parts were ready. Every time I took work there, they were ready when Tim said they would be. Thank you for the excellent service and competitive pricing.

Great place for builders, racers, hobbyists — or if you are just looking for great advice on maintaining mechanical and cosmetics for a daily driver.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that take the time to understand your what you are looking for and make great recommendations.
Their machine shop and performance engine building capability is the among the best. Highly recommended.

I am very late in writing this review but better late than Never!!! I had been getting the run around at various auto parts stores and dealerships about my windshield wiper blade replacements. Basically telling me I was going to have to pay over $ 50 and had to have the entire wiper replaced. I just happened to drive by and thought I’d stop in. The gentleman at the counter was so helpful he went out in the rain took one look at my blades (not the who wiper), replaced them and reinstalled them for UNDER $ 50. I am amazed at how helpful and how much this company went out of the way to help me. I will remember you and be back when the timing is appropriate. :) Stefani Martin, Martinez, Ca

This place is pretty good. I go here all the time. Never really had a problem except once when i broke a socket i just bought from them… But they replaced it and all was well. Shouldn’t buy cheap tools to begin with but i was in a jam.
Good place though.

The guys, and girl at Morgans did it again. After having my BMW strait six engine machined here, and being very happy with all aspects of my interactions with Tim, Chris and everyone ells at the shop, I decided to come back to get my fly wheel resurfaced and lightened here. Ones again I got top of the line communication from Chris and Tim on exactly when my part would be done, how much it would cost, why the work that was done was done, and how it was done. I also picked up a few AN fittings, a fuel filter and some fuel hose while I was there. Chris helped me find the parts I needed that were right for my applications. Ill be back for some oil cooler fittings and hose.
I live in San Rafael, and work in SF. Its a bit of a drive over to the shop but it is always worth it. I leave the shop more knowledgeable then I was before I came in, and with a big smile on my face.

Awesome little shop! I lost a v band clamp for my exhaust going over a bump and was scrambling to try to find someone who carried a specific size and manufacturer. They were super nice, helpful, and had reasonable prices. It was just a couple of bucks more expensive than have a part shipped from AZ (where my car was tuned) so I’m okay with instant gratification if that means I can stop worrying about my exhaust sooner.
It looks like they also have a HUGE selection of auto care products. And now that I know they’re really close by, I’ll support the local guys!

Chris and Tim, always go above and beyond to help me and my customers. Its nice to have a go-​to speed and machine shop with old school values and honesty. the quality of work is top notch, and they always take time out of their busy schedule to answer questions.

If we could give ⁵¹⁄₂ stars we would or even 10 stars.
The main sales guy is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If he doesn’t know or have the part he will find it or find out how to get it.
The other great thing is they match prices. If your a car part buyer like my husband and I, you know how to price shop. They will meet the large, mail order, Summit type prices. With recommendations catered to your application.
If you’re lucky and crazy enough to build your own motor, you will be dealing with Tim, aka. The Man, also the owner. That is if you’re worthy.
He has more knowledge on any type of motor than any other person I know alive. Offenhauser, Boss 302’s, Ferrari Engines, and even Chevy’s
We have had machine work done to one 385 series 460. With one look at the stampings on the block, he was able to tell me, year, make, even type of metal the block casted from.
The motor was being built for a 1973 XR7 Mercury Cougar, Single Owner. We had the block cleaned, & prepped. We supplied our own vintage forged pistons.
Which being out of date, Tim was able to modify the pistons to meet above today’s standards.
Our short block was boared 30 over with tork plates. Balanced and blue printed.
We supplied Morgan with top notch, stock, Dove heads. After Tim magnifluxed and inspected the heads, multiple cracks were found. I was notified of the problem and a date was set to discuss each other’s research.
After a very, very short debate… the suggested replacements were raw Elderbrock Castings which Morgan, (aka Tim), would massage the heads to a good flow and shave the name «Elderbrock» off, because we actually cant stand Elderbrock. (for more info PM me)
After all of the machining and paying the bill, Morgan reluctantly let me leave with my motor in pieces. Morgan hates not assembling his own work.
A real man never lets anyone else assemble their own motor.
