Same Day Garage Door Repair

Super friendly, super fast, super easy! I called around 11am on a Friday and they were waiting at my home when I got home at 2:30. The door had become dislodged from the opener mechanism and it was fixed in less than 30 minutes at a great price.

Early one Thursday morningthis week my garage door spring broke, and I couldn’t open the door. I called one recommended company who said they could only help me by the following Monday, altho they guided me how to get the door up and get the cars out. Then I looked on the web and saw Same Day Garage Repairs here in Walnut Creek. I phoned and Larry said they could help me the same day. He came in the afternoon at the appointed time and installed new springs and a cable wire which had worn out. All worked great and he was out in an hour or so. Very nice gentleman and solved my problem. Really appreciated the timely assistance. I will use them again.

I chose to give this company a chance based on other reviews. I did see one or two negative reviews which appeared a little questionable, like the client was being unreasonable.
Garage door wouldn’t stay closed. Called and spoke with Larry. He worked with my hectic schedule and even worked some of his appointments to accommodate me. He arrived, diagnosed the problem and professionally, expeditiously and courteously went about completing the task.
A couple days later something else went wrong with the garage door (unrelated to the first problem) and he came by again and quickly fixed the problem before we headed out of town for Christmas!
This kind of service is very rare these days

I left a message on Sunday and Monday 9:30am I called Larry (he didn’t call me or even know who I was) and he put me on speaker phone to take down my info and when he couldn’t spell my last name (as easy as Jackson) I finally yelled it and he came on and said «sorry I just got a bunch of calls I can’t see you today!!!»
Complete jerk, bad service (just for me raising my voice to give him my last name)!!!

Had to get to the Giant’s game, door came off the track… what to do? Called the last company who came out 6 years ago, never returned my call. Saw the online reference to Same Day Garage Door Repair, gave it a shot, and WOW did I get service! Larry took my call after just a few rings, told me he thought they could come at the latest by 4:15. Told him that might be cutting it close to make my game — darn. He said let me call my guy and check his GPS and narrow down the ETA. He did, called me promptly back, gave me a 3:15 ETA, which I could live with. He arrived early at 3:00 and was done by 3:15. Charles was the tech, personable, knowledgeable, didn’t talk down to me as the «wife», and handled the job with ease. Time to spare to get on the road for the Giant’s game — THANK YOU SAME DAY GARAGE DOOR REPAIR — THANKS LARRY, AND ABOVE ALL, THANKS CHARLES! …GO GIANTS!

In the past 4 years Ive been having many problems with my garage door coming off the track or something breaking on it, sometimes due to my stupidity. My previous garage door mechanic told me that my garage door was old and he can’t adjust it to keep it work properly and I shroud replace it. I couldn’t afford a new garage door so made an effort to stop opening my garage quite as often. The other day the garage door came off its track. I decide to try another service and called Sam Day Garage door Repair (SDGDR). I called them on a Sunday morning, they couldn’t come out the same day but did give me an appointment at that time for the following Monday.
it was nice to be able to not have to wait till Monday for callbacks to see when someone could help.
The repairman, Hector was very nice and didn’t try to sell me a new garage door. he noticed that the tracks were installed too far apart in the original installation (over 10 years ago). He fixed this and now the garage door opens better than it ever has since I owned the house. the price they charged was very reasonable. I would call them again to fix my garage door.

Very fast same day service! I backed into my garage door like an idiot and wanted to get it fixed by the end of the day. I found the listing on Unilocal and called. Todd answered the phone and was very helpful, immediately contacting his guy who was out in the field. The technician, Hector, arrived about 1 ½ hours later and did a great job fixing the door. He was also very polite and informative. Would use them again if need be.

We are in the process of remodeling our house and decided to add Carriage House garage doors as one of our biggest makeovers. Our older door was working good but looked like a piece of painted wood with a handle.
Larry at Same Day Garage Door Repair bid on our project and was in the ball park so we decided to go with his proposal since we used his services on a previous job and it worked out well.
This is the biggest improvement from a visual standpoint that we have made and the impact was huge thanks to Larry and crew for an outstanding service and helping us get the right doors.

Quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed within 30 minutes. I am very happy with the result. I am knocking them down from 5 stars because they originally promised 1:30 but keep pushing the time. (they finally showed up at 4:00) however they called me twice to let me know they were running late. Why not a 3? My standards are pretty low for repairmen to show up let alone show up on time. Everyone runs late I appreciate that they kept me informed.

Since there weren’t enough reviews on Unilocal,I searched on Google and since the reviews looked good, I chose to try them out.
Larry answered the phone and was very nice. I told him my garage door was acting weird and not closing properly. I also informed him that I wanted my remotes re-​coded because of a recent break-​in. He replied that his technician could take care of the remote and diagnose the problem on the first visit with a $ 40 visit fee. He offered to send someone out that same day, but I didn’t need same day service so I made an appointment for the next day.
A technician (not Larry) arrived the next day. The problem turned out to be a simple one — the stop sensor had somehow moved so down the track passed the point in which the door could sense when to stop and go. The technician moved the sensor back in place and tightened the screw to keep it in place.
While standing there, I realized this was a good time to reprogram the keypad that also opens the garage door in case we didn’t have our remote. I asked the technician if he could do that as well. He said it shouldn’t be a problem but he’d have to call someone else familiar with all the codes.
After a few minutes on the phone, the tech told me that to reprogram the keypad alone would be an EXTRA $ 40 so that the total service call would be $ 80.
I was taken aback. $ 40 to punch in a couple of codes on a keypad? Really? That’s equivalent to the same cost as driving out, fixing a sensor, and reprogramming a remote? It just didn’t seem right to me. Especially since a year earlier, I had another person come out to diagnose another problem and he reprogrammed that same keypad (it’s a very fidgety device), and an in-​car remote device all for a $ 40 service call.
I told this to the tech and asked him to speak to Larry about it since I was expecting to pay the $ 40 we had discussed and that the keypad didn’t seem to warrant that much extra cost. Another few minutes on the phone and the answer was still the same. No, he wanted $ 40 to reprogram the keypad.
I politely declined (already knowing from the last time that I could just get the instructions online) and gave the tech his $ 40 bucks for the sensor and remote work. As I handed him the check, I asked him if he warrantied his work meaning that if the garage door starts acting up the same exact way it did — if he’d come back to take a look at it. He said no, they don’t warranty that work because he didn’t ‘fix’ anything or install anything and since it’s working right then, the work is complete. Another look of surprise on my face as I handed over my check.
That’s that. I’m sure not going to use them again. It just seemed that they were trying to nickel and dime me for something they could have easily done for free or at least a LOT less. Instead of gaining a loyal customer, they gained a slightly annoyed and unsatisfied reviewer.
