Dr. Martens Washington DC

Had a wonderful experience and bought a new bag. I saw the bag online but when i cane to the store it was completely different. Exactly what i needed. The salespeople were amazing And friendly and effective lol. I left out with a great purchase and a whole new attitude

The only reason to shop at a boutique store is for perfect sizing and excellent customer service. Save time and money and buy online from a far superior selection! Or go to Journeys at a mall if you must have a pair of Docs today and expect any assistance. One customer was in the shop, and there were three employees, a security guard, an additional employee who was supposedly also a manager, and an alleged additional invisible manager. No one greeted me, and I had to grab one of the feckless, navel gazing employees to ask to try on a pair of boots. To his credit, he was able to produce a pair and shared his unsolicited Docs 101 knowledge without being useful.- by this I mean that he gave the information that he knew while not knowing, understanding, or caring about what I needed. The remainder of the sullen staff neither came to assist me, nor even came to the aid of their coworker even as he was audibly whining loudly enough to be heard over Thom Yorke’s voice in the background. I think these glowing reviews are highly suspicious and possibly written by friends who are infinitely more adroit at playing with smartphones than doing anything real. Or perhaps the staff was a little too 420 to work. And maybe, the invisible manager was too! Whoever owns this store might consider getting one or two good employees, and terminating the remainder. Assuming that these employees earn the DC minimum wage, they are still stealing from you. Though times, brands, fashions, and cultures change, Dr Martens was once a worker’s boot.

I tried on about 10 different pairs of shoes/​boots in the course of an hour. The sales people were very helpful and patient. The manager is the BEST. She was attentive, engaged in conversation with me, and gave her opinion and recommendations about the different fits and wear, which were very helpful and appreciated! It was busy, too at times, and she handled all the customers well. It’s good to see a well-​run store with happy, well-​trained employees :-) I’ll be back for my next pair!

It’s so refreshing to experience a knowledgeable sales person. I’ve never owned a pair of Dr Martens but knew that I wanted a pair.

I love docs. I have a collection that rivals the store room of a shoe store. I went in with no idea what to expect but knew exactly what I wanted. the sales folks were awesome (I didn’t need any sizing help but they were so helpful to an older man looking for work shoes) and even recommended coffee and food around Georgetown to me. there should be more of these stores around the US!

Yesss! There’s a Docs shop in DC!
I had little to no expectation of doing anything more than ‘window’ shopping, but honestly, the staff rocked and made my visit super fun. I tried on 3 different things; 2 shoes and a pair of purple classic boots. I loved them all, but ended up with the purple boots cuz well. PURPLE. What more of a reason do I need?!
Also bought the hubs a pair of work boots and some replacement laces for older boots at home.
I am a sucker for great boots and fantastic service.
Oh and this was a busy Friday night!

Recently the bf and I spent 4 glorious days in Georgetown. It was our first visit there and M Street is an obsessive shopper’s orgasmic dream!!! We stumbled upon Dr. Martans and couldn’t have been happier with our experience there. Being way back in the «house music days» Doc Martan wearers, we rushed right in! Jade and Kevin were fabulous, informative, funny and nice. They have lots of styles to choose from conservative to fun and funky! I got a pair of ankle height boots that were $ 80. I normally wear a 9 ½, got a 9 and they fit perfectly. If I’m ever in Georgetown again, I’ll definitely visit them again. My 13 year old son is in LOVE with my new boots and I’ll be taking him to the NYC Soho store very soon to get a pair of his own.

This is one of my favorite places to visit on M Street when I am in DC. They have a great selection, with all the latest docs. The staff are all very helpful, patient, and attentive. The shoes range from around 100 bucks a pair to the 300 – 400 range for designer originals. Really wanted to pull the trigger on a pair of Edisons — maybe next time.

I went in with my brother and it was way better then I expected. They have a huge variety of different styles of 3 holes up to 24. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. What even surprised me is they had those 2 tones docs I wore in the 90’s… wtf was i thinking when I bought those… Any who I picked up a pair of 8 holes and was very happy with them. I am glad they opened a store in georgetown. I will def be back again …

I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, with my boyfriend. I am a major fan of Dr. Marten’s and have been wearing them for about 20 years. I used to work a lot in Georgetown, so I am familiar with what type of traffic to expect, and was not surprised to see a bunch of people in the store. I kept thinking, yay! people really like this brand as much as I do!
We were greeted when we walked in, and it was wonderful to see nice people working in the store. I kept looking around and in my mind, comparing the selection to what is online on both the USA site and the UK site (like I said, I’m a big fan). I have to admit, while they have a large selection, it isn’t as much as I thought it would be. I know that they are in a small space, but there are certain styles that I think would sell better in that neighborhood, that were not on the shelf.
The con: while the employees are nice, and I already knew my size and everything, they were not super knowledgeable about fits and wear and leather care. I was overhearing what two employees were saying to some customers, and it was not correct at all. I didn’t chime in because that would have been rude, but the people in the store on that day were not typically Dr. Marten wearers which is most likely what skewed their advice towards clients. The employees were nice though!
If I didn’t already know what I know about this brand, my size, leather care, etc., then I most likely would not listen to their advice, or style.

It was a grey and rainy day, and like a beacon of light from the heavens, there stood Dr. Martens with their doors open. I was treated like royalty as soon as I entered. The employees were more helpful and attentive than the Downton Abbey staff. I tried on several pairs of boots before deciding on two pairs to buy. The person helping me did it all with grace and a smile.
The atmosphere in this place was all I could hope for in a store: Bauhaus on the stereo, boots arranged and cleverly organized, and comfy chairs to sit on while lacing up my boots.
I don’t know if you’ve ever owned Dr. Martens boots before, but I’m not exaggerating when I say they last a very long time. I have pairs from more than a decade ago that still have a lot of life left in them.
Very happy they opened this store in Georgetown. I’ll be back, I’m sure.
