A smaller building with a quiet group of residents, The Ashton is probably one of the few residences in DC that are worth staying at for more than a month. The apartments are quite thoughtful and have real luxury features unlike all the counterfeit luxury apartments in the area. No, granite counter tops do not automatically create an air of luxury. You won’t find any other apartment in DC with Jenn-Air in the kitchen and a dry bar in the living room. Is $ 2870 for a one bedroom a little much? Maybe in some places, but for 1,200 square feet in this neighborhood, it’s not all that bad. If you’re considering 425 Mass and The Ashton… choose The Ashton. At 425 Mass, you will surely go insane with all their problems and shortcomings. The staff at 425 Mass got their management training from YouTube. My only complaints about The Ashton? Haha! I don’t like the thermostat… I installed my own. The bathroom counter height is too low and I wish they didn’t cheap-out on the dishwasher!
