Best salads! We got the special where you select 3 salads for like $ 8. We got humus with veggies and bread, edamame, and avacado salads. All were perfect! and a great deal

Not commenting on food but on advertised«free wifi». The fine print: it’s only available in one seating area, also known as the freezing(near the doors and open mall entrance) and smelly(near the bathroom) section.

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast, before heading to the national mall, and we were surprised when they told us they were out of pancakes and potatoes. The food we got were okay but the workers were nice.

While I do like the Corner Bakery in general, this night at this location was not that great. We went on a Saturday evening. It was not crowded but it took a bit too long to get our food. My sandwich was ok. Not great but not bad. What was bad was the filthy, disgusting restroom that I had to use to wash my hands before eating. There was tp all over the floor and it was just bad. I did mention it to the manager but seriously? there is NO excuse for the restroom to be that disgusting. when I see a flithy restroom I think the kitchen is dirty too. Just a thought Corner Bakery…

I used to go to this place every morning. The coffee options are wonderful and the coffee area is typically very clean. I wouldn’t have lunch here… I’ve done that before and I was just underwhelmed and uncomfortable the entire time. It’s definitely a wonderful place to stop by in the morning, though to get coffee and cookies. The cookies are fantastic. The sandwiches are also decent if you’re in a rush.

Looking for light evening meal close to hotel. It was perfect. Tasty salad /sandwich combo with cookie for room later. Thanks

Terrible. The muffin I got was greasy to the touch. My chai latte was made with whole milk and I wasn’t even asked for my preference. The dining area was filthy, none of the tables were bussed. Good in a pinch, I suppose, but I wish I had gone anywhere else.

Hair found in pasta. Curly, short, black hair. Asked for and received refund. Was offered coupons but I literally would not eat here again for free. Calling the health inspector! Edit: So… Just read the routine health inspection report from March 2015, the inspector noted that employees at this restaurant do not wash their hands and the prep table is unclean. Beware!

I like that they have the nutritional information for baked goods on their website however it doesn’t tell me much when they don’t include the weight /amount of the serving size. I did have a pecan bar from them though on the 4th of july and it was quite delicious(albeit not worth the 690 calories listed). Service moves pretty fast and there are lots of tables/chairs to accommodate everyone. The location is also very convenient to the mall and white house.

The worst. My husband and I were in the area to get his watch repaired by the jeweler store just across the street. While we waited, we decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I ordered a spinach sweet crisp salad with chicken, and dressing on the side. I had to send back my order twice — first time– my salad was drenched in its dressing, second time — there was no chicken. After spending nearly 30 minutes just to get my order«right», I noticed the strawberries were rotten. And into the trash my lunch goes… In addition, the cashier did not know the menu well. She told me the chicken would cost addition 50 cents extra. When she learned her mistake in pricing, she did not know how to correct or remove it from the system. As if those two strikes weren’t enough, I find it extremely unsanitary that the cleaner would wheel a cart full of dirty dishes and trash around the sit down area to clear the table. There was a cart full of trash stationed next to me my face for a good 10 minutes while I waited for my food. The whole experience was a nightmare. Never again.

Great prices with good portions! Nice café atmosphere with fresh and delicious food! Panini, sandwiches, pasta, and salads with great variety, and all can be in a combo! Delicious and not heavy food! Kids’ combos available. My daughter loved the mac-n-cheese.

Solid Corner Bakery with lots of good breakfast choices. My fiancé and I wanted to get a bite to eat and have a place to sit before we went to the White House Spring Garden tour and stumbled upon this Corner Bakery. He really enjoyed his coffee and I appreciated all the good Panini choices! There is plenty of seating(even at a crowded time, as it was when we were visiting) and service was efficient. It’s also located conveniently in downtown DC, just a few blocks away from many tourist attractions. Definitely recommended!

While searching for a quick breakfast hit to get us going on our last day in DC, we came across this place. The menu looked enticing enough, and it was an order and grab a seat type of place, vs waiter service. We were short on time, so this was perfect. The coffee was ok, if not pretty good. Their iced coffee stood out in particular. Hot coffee is serve yourself from one of those giant coffee container things. My friend and I wanted the hazelnut coffee, but it came out of the thing nearly cold, which was disappointing. We ended up with the regular dark roast, which was totally acceptable, but by no means memorable. The food was actually really good, but we were disappointed to find they were out of their skillet potatoes. It was around 11:30am when we arrived, so I understand being on the tail end of breakfast means slim pickings, but still. If the breakfast menu is still up, keep it all available. I ordered the french toast with eggs and bacon. I was quite impressed by the french toast! Perfectly cooked, lots of flavor, and layered with a custard sauce. The applewood smoked bacon was crisp, and the scrambled eggs were tasty. My wife ordered the Anaheim scrambler sandwich, which was pretty good, though a little small. Overall, if you’re in need of something quick and easy, definitely stop here to fuel up. If you have more time on your hands, maybe look around.

In almost three years, the terrible service here has not improved at all. I try to avoid this Corner Bakery location whenever necessary, but I’ve been dragged in by friends and colleagues. Regardless of the time of day, whether there’s only 3 customers or 30, the service is consistently terrible. My most recent visit was one day this week when my boss suggested we get lunch here before heading to a meeting next door. We had almost 40 minutes to order and eat before our meeting. I ordered the chili because I knew(thought) it was going to be fast. First, my boss’ sandwich and soup came out, but they got his order sandwich wrong. Then, they brought him the correct order but with no utensils. After 15 minutes, they finally brought my food, but it was also the wrong order! I immediately asked to speak to a manager who promptly gave us refunds. I hope more customers demand the same for their poor experiences. Perhaps the corporate office will take notice.

This place is good if you need to grab a quick sandwich but beware it is very pricey for what you get. Also the staff almost seemed in Lala land when we were ordering therefore one of our orders was wrong… we were starving though and didn’t want to wait. If you’re in a hurry and don’t mind paying the price this is an okay option.

Still loving the breakfast! They have some grilled panini sandwiches, one of which is the Anaheim Panini. It’s a scramble of bacon, avocado, tomatoes, green onions, and cheddar on grilled slices of sourdough bread. You can also get those ingredients as a scramble plate with potatoes and toast, the Anaheim Scramble. My favorite is still the Commuter Croissant but this Panini is a close second! Usually not too crowded around 9AM on a weekday, but it’s not as fast(or as cheap) as Mickey D’s, but that’s probably why you didn’t go there in the first place. At the $ 5 mark these breakfast sandwiches are great quality but probably not an everyday breakfast if you’re on a budget. Especially if a small coffee is $ 2, you might want to just grab the free coffee at the office.

Long line to wait to order at counter and then hunt for a table. If you’re eating alone this becomes an ordeal as you can’t grab an table before you order. I ordered the American breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon with an extra side of sausage. My breakfast arrived without the bacon the server couldn’t speak enough English to understand my problem. I had to go back to counter and wait to get it rectified. Potatoes were bland eggs were overcooked as was the Bacon once in eventually arrived. Toast was dry and there was no butter even after asking for butter it did not arrive. I wont go back again. Find somewhere else if you’re looking for a good cooked breakfast.

I normally love Corner Bakery in Arlington Virginia or in Chicago however this particular location is a crazy mess. Whenever I go in there are lots of staff members milling around yet the coffee area is a disaster. Nobody seems to want to serve customers in an elegant or efficient way. When I ask for simple things like milk refills the manager gives me attitude. DC has a particularly bad customer service problem and Corner Bakery exemplifies it at this location.

I should have turned away when I saw the pair of teenagers making out in one of the front tables. But no, I was famished and needed just a little something, and besides, I’ve been to other Corner Bakery Cafes and have been a fan. This one isn’t as good as others. By about 2 pm, there were pretty slim pickings when it came to the baked goods. Maybe I hit it on an off day??? Staff is slow. Food was a disappointment. Their cheesecake brownie(I know, I know, so much for New Year’s resolutions!) was calling my name so I ordered one. It looked so nice and inviting there in the glass display case — a decadent brownie with swirls of creamy cheesecake ribbons throughout. Well, what I got looked(and tasted) pretty awful(edible, yes, but nowhere near the quality I expected). My «cheesecake brownie» was cold — like someone had taken it out of a freezer a few minutes before — and was comprised of three layers smushed together. On the top and bottom, chocolate Texas-sheet-cake style cake, and in the middle, «cheesecake» that had none of the zing or zest that I would expect. It was more like a chocolate-cheap cheesecake sandwich. See my pic for a visual. Didn’t finish it, and don’t think I’ll be back.
