We had booked this hotel for one night for my parents & cousins. The booking was done through Expedia where we booked a King room with sofa bed. When they got there, the room that was given to them was a king room without an additional bed. They tried asking the lady on the front desk to give them the room we have booked and she refused to make any changes. They even requested her to charge extra and give them an upgrade and she kept saying nothing was available, it was all booked up. I called the hotel from NJ to sort it out. The same lady told me «I have done everything I could by giving you this room. I cannot do anything more.» It was shocking as we had paid and she was making it sound like she did something extra by giving us a room in the hotel. I asked her to give extra blankets but she said she cannot, there are none available and asked me to speak to Expedia as we had booked with a 3^rd party. After a frustrating conversation, I called Expedia, after being on hold for 38 mins, Expedia called the hotel again. They asked to be transferred to the Manager but the Manager never picked up. He tried reasoning with the same lady and she didn’t cooperate. In the meanwhile, my husband spoke to another Expedia rep and even she called the hotel. After so many calls by different people, Marriott magically had the room with sofa bed available and transferred them to this room at 11.30pm after a long day of travel! Since Expedia booked another room for them and refunded the booking amount for the other room, we realized that the rooms were very much available and the front desk woman had been lying. It was so frustrating to have my parents go through an experience like this, especially when we booked with Marriott! Shame on your staff!!!

Nice interior, big rooms (we got the 2 queens with pullout couch) reasonably priced being in central location, toiletries were good quality.
Negative– no microwave and refrigerator in the room, valet parking only which is a whopping $ 43/​day (unlimited in/​out)

We had a great stay. Clean room, super helpful staff. The restaurant serves good food and both the evening bartender, Katie and one of the day shift servers, Brandy, were super pleasant. Great location and easy access to lots of sites!

I’m not sure why this place rates so low. We never had any issues with a dirty room or slow internet. Our room was super clean and our wii-​fi was fast. I booked two nights here through Expedia for $ 125 a night and although we didn’t get the best view, we weren’t in our room much to care. The staff and the valet service were all very professional when we checked in. I requested a crib for our room and they were prompt in bringing it within the hour. Ask any of the staff members and they will give you advice on getting around the city. What I love about this hotel is also the location. It’s within walking distance to the White House and many other attractions.
The reason I’m docking a star is because of their valet parking fee (around $ 40 a day), which is absolutely ridiculous. If we knew about Parking Panda sooner, we would have saved so much money. I recommend anyone traveling to DC to get the Parking Panda app and find a local garage. We paid $ 16 a day to park and walk around the National Gallery.
Another plus to this hotel is their awesome lobby and Nage restaurant downstairs. We were so tired from walking around all day, it was nice to just walk downstairs to get a cocktail and have a nice gourmet dinner. We thought we were going to get the evil eye for pushing in a stroller, but they were very accommodating. Room service is from Nage and and everything was delicious. Watch out though, they do add an automatic gratuity to your room service bill.
Another plus is the fact that they had an awesome gym, a pool and laundry room downstairs. Be sure to take advantage of all that during your stay because you won’t regret it. This place really is a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Great service from check in to check out. The room was very clean trash and recently cleaned the staff was very accommodating and nice and didn’t hesitate to offer their assistance if there was anything that I needed. Five star service.

These people do not deserve a star at all! Very unprofessional, two employees of the housekeeping members walked into my do not disturb room without knocking asking if I needed service, I saw one employee refill the complimentary bottle of water with another bottle of water. I have been disrespected via email by 2 different managers after expressing my concerns with them and to top it all off… the room was dirty and they did not switch my room!

This is a good, lean, Courtyard in a great location. On the plus side, it is modern, everything seems to work (plumbing, electronics, etc.), and it works. On the downside, the in-​lobby restaurant means there is no «Marriott Bistro» in the lobby (a glorified Starbucks café), so there is no quick/​cheap breakfast here.
Parking is always expensive in a big, downtown metro, but this place is valet only, so brace yourself. To their credit, the valets are fast and professional. And like the parking, the rates were are pretty high, so it’s not a huge value, but if you want to be here, again, it’s a great location.

My husband and I chose to stay here as opposed to the Hotel Palomar where our wedding group had a room block. Given he has an elite membership with Marriott and we loved the brand, we figured why not?
Boy were we wrong.
For starters, I booked the hotel on
because a.) I love any good deals on hotels (especially when the going rate for a room is over $ 300), and b.) my baby boy gets a percentage back in his 529 plan. I was very happy to book our room via Groupon. A few days before we checked in I called reservations to make sure everything was good. She told me I never booked on Groupon, but they did have my reservation. I kindly informed the lady that I did in fact book on Groupon and was looking at the confirmation on my computer. Perhaps Groupon booked through another source. I don’t care as long as the reservation was made. «Well I’m telling you you didn’t, so you must be confused.» Since when is it good customer service to argue with someone who is paying for a room. The fact I had to tell her I didn’t have time to argue (I had a job to get back to) was pretty sad. She was able to confirm the reservation (funny how that happens) so I said a quick thanks and hung up.
I was hoping everything else would go smoothly upon our arrival.
Maybe things got lost in translation, but when I booked, I noted there were two adults and ONE CHILD. Too bad we got a corner room for someone in a wheelchair which mean absolutely no bathtub! On top of that, the wallpaper was so nasty near the toilet, it was turning a bright yellow color, which is not promising given it’s hue and proximity to the place you do your business. I was so turned off by the shower (tons of rust and discoloration), I ended up washing up elsewhere.
Outside of the first day smelling like the room was fumigated, the second day was better… that was until housekeeping tossed my husband’s shirt with the bed sheets! I don’t know who doesn’t look before they scoop things up, but they didn’t and took a piece of his suit for a nice wedding at the Washington National Cathedral. When we spoke to the front desk about it numerous times, they claimed to call downstairs, but no one followed up, said I’m sorry, or anything.
We have stayed in plenty of Marriotts across the country and this one was the biggest joke. For charging so much a night, their rooms are overly outdated (I’m in the design business and you can capture the historic sentiment and still keep the place a little better maintained).
Bottom line, there are plenty of other hotels in the area with better deals, better rooms and better service.

Standard courtyard Marriott hotel. The hotel is in a great location downtown and the interior is very nice and the staff is very friendly. The staff did a good job cleaning my room. The room is very spacious and the wifi was fast. My only two complaints are that the beds could be more comfortable and also the TVs are rather small. Other than that everything was great!

We stayed here for a wedding and at the time I booked, the regular rate was $ 299. I paid substantially less because there was a room block, and I think I would’ve given this a much lower rating for $ 299.
The rooms were fine and a good size. The mattress had definitely seen better days. Our bathroom was large enough and clean. The toilet made a loud, terrifying sound when flushed and seemed like you could flush a pair of jeans down and it would be fine.
Valet parking was pretty high at like $ 43 a day, so I used Parking Panda and got parking less than 2 blocks away from yesterday afternoon through this afternoon for $ 21.
Check-​in and check-​out were both very easy. All staff members encountered were pleasant and helpful.
I think I’m mostly just annoyed because I got basically no sleep. Granted, part of this was probably because there were too much alcohol coursing through my veins and my body couldn’t handle it, but, the hotel related issues were: uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable pillows, paper thin walls, previously mentioned super loud toilet that could be heard from other rooms, the loud drunk people at 4 am, and whatever service truck pulled in at 7:30.
We were barely in the room so we didn’t use the free wifi, but free is always appreciated.
Oh, and yeah, the soap with the hole in it was weird…

Decent hotel, if you get it at a discounted rate. Had I paid the full price they originally quoted? I would have been quite displeased.
I’ve been in many Courtyard Marriott Hotels. This one is rather dated, and not quite up to snuff, IMO.
To start with the positive, ALL of the staff were lovely, from front desk to valets to maintenance to housekeeping. I loved that they have a restaurant with extended hours and a happy hour, as well as a pantry where you can buy a nice selection of beverages and sandwiches/​snacks, all easily charged to your room, and available ²⁴⁄₇. Nice lobby lounge. Quick check in/​out. And complimentary internet is pretty awesome (speeds were perfectly fine).
The room was a nice size, though the mattress was run down (which I could tell when doing my bed bug check, and before every laying down the thing). It still provided a decent night’s sleep. However, during said bed bug check, I realized that the housekeeping staff don’t always change the top fitted sheet, as there was a dried booger wiped on the underside fitted sheet.
Gross.
The walls are a bit thin. The bathroom is rinky dink, with a shower you’d expect to find in a by-​the-​hour motel (cracked tiles on the floor, toilet which often required a double flush, 100% polyester old school shower curtain, and light which flickered every time it was turned on). Plenty of hot water, though.
Towels weren’t crunchy… but they definitely weren’t «oooo…hotel soft».
Valet is $ 35/​night, and you can have a friend use it, and you approve the charge being added to your room. That was a sweet option.
The complimentary soap they offer has a hole in it. Literally. The entire middle portion of the bar is gone. Purposefully. And it didn’t provide a clean wash.
Pass.
You don’t need a room key to get to the rooms (nice if you have friends visiting), though you have to use your key for entry after 11pm… and they won’t allow delivery to be brought up to the room.
Very close to Dupont, easy Metro from Union Square, and a place I’d consider again, if the price is right.

Pretty good location and price if you’re visiting Washington D.C. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable, especially the beds. Slept like a baby despite the noisy drunk patrons that seem to come here.
On the ground level, there’s excellent complimentary water, and a CVS is a short 5 minute walk over by Dupont Circle.
It’s located nearest to Farragut West station which has access to Reagan Int’l Airport and is only 2 train stops to Rosslyn Station which is close to the 51a line that goes directly to Dulles Int’l Airport. If there’s no traffic, the airport to the courtyard is no longer than a comfortable 35 – 40 minutes.
Tip for Runners: From the Courtyard, you are at Scott Circle. Take 16^th St and jog towards the White House, go around it and run along the Washington monument, pass it, and go left around the water to reach the Jefferson Memorial which will spit you out on the opposite side of the Washington Monument and go up 17^th St and then turn back to 16^th St until you reach your hotel. That loop is a nice easy 5 mile run with a nice warm up down hill and a comfortable incline back.
Very friendly, courteous staff here. Had no complaints.
Only odd thing was the toilets. The pressure of the flush might startle you because it is LOUD!

If you want a Courtyard in this area, this is the way to go. Nice older building, well maintained, comfy beds, and a great location for walking around whether you are here for business or visiting.
Do NOT make the mistake of going to the Courtyard Dupont Circle (up on Connecticut Ave)… that one is horrendous.

Ridiculously thin walls. Pleasant staff though. Very friendly and helpful. Hall smelled like weed ALL NIGHT LONG on the 6^th floor :-(not their fault but no one came when I called the front desk. Definitely a party a room away from me.
Great location though. Nice walk to DuPont circle.

This Marriott property was a wonderful location and I enjoyed my stay. It started with the check in process, great service.
The location was in walking distance from many of the city sites and easy to navigate.
My room was on the 8^th floor corner and the view of the city was awesome. Side note: the city is pretty active and the emergency vehicles were thru out the night.
Great stay at a great location. Make sure you give it a try.

My last hotel experience staying at another chain of hotel in NYC was horrible. Then I stayed here to attend Inauguration ceremonies.
I can’t say enough good things. From check-​in to check-​out, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The staff was helpful in getting taxis for me throughout the trip and to the airport. This is how a hotel should be – not too stuffy, but welcoming with customer service as a number one priority.
The rooms are great. The newly renovated lobby is beautiful and elegant.
I think this hotel is nearly perfect. I will definitely stay here again.

This is a decent hotel in Washington. It is walking distance to the White House but a far walk to all the other monuments like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Korean War Memorial etc;
The rooms here are average size but very clean and we thought the service was great. We first got a handicap room which made showers awkward so we asked to be moved after the first night. They were happy to accommodate us and we very much appreciated it.
We got a discounted rate so for $ 140, we were pleased with our stay. We weren’t so pleased with the $ 28 overnight parking fee though.
