Hoy día tuve una mala experiencia
Con mi niña de tan solo 7 años mi nińa ya me había dicho que la señora que dice ser dentista la trato mal en la vez anterior y esta vez mi cita era a las 9 de la mañana dicen que tenía que tomar una medicina y amarraron a mi hija para darle la medicina lo permeti por qué mi hija no se quería tomar la medicina me dijeron que esperará una hora y treinta minutos en ese tiempo un niño le dieron la misma medicina y se puso a sudar Elado la mama del niño se asustó y le dijo mi hijo está mal y pidió agua para El Niño y la secretaria le dijo que el agua estaba en el pasillo y cuando la señora salió a dar agua asu hijo dijo la Estupida secretaria que ahí no era restaurante y que ella no era mesera y le contesto la otra señora ayudante de la doctora mas mala que he conocido que no fuera mala que un favor a cualquiera se le hace

After breaking a crown, I decided to come here because this office is within walking distance to my house.
What a mistake!
I was assessed by a man who apparently works at this office sometimes, but his name was nowhere on any of the material. They took a few bitewing x-​rays of my teeth. They thought they could order a special kit to fix the crown instead of doing a completely new one. On the first visit, they cleaned my teeth, but they took maybe ten minutes to do so. There was no scraping of tartar, no bleeding of gums, no flossing. They said they would call when they had the materials in to fix my crown.
After two weeks, I never received a call, so I called and made an appointment. This time, they told me that my insurance would not cover the procedure. I knew this was incorrect as I had checked online before arriving to see what was covered. I called my insurance, who notified me that the office did not call, and that they were not sure where this office was getting their information.
I decided to leave as it just became more apparent that things were very strange at this office. All of a sudden, Dr. Whitfield-​Locke appeared in leather shorts, and a fur hat-​meanwhile it was 80 degrees outside! She was not working on patients but asked why I was leaving and stated that her office would get back to me after speaking with my insurance.
I have not heard back from them, and will never go back here again.
What a disgrace to the dental profession in DC!

I wish I could give zero stars.
The person who answered the phone to schedule the appointment acted like I was a pain in the ass because I asked her to check availability on 4 different days. God forbid I would want an appointment conducive to my schedule.
When I arrived I was quoted a cost of $ 70 and told that I didn’t actually have benefits but received a discount. I called my insurance company while in the office and they were as surprised to hear this as I was. Apparently in order to be seen in this office YOU MUST have panoramic films done which is not the standard of care and not covered by most insurance companies. My co-​pay was actually $ 30 but the add’l fee of $ 40 was suppose to be for these films. When I explained that I knew that the panoramics are not the standard of care and I didn’t think they were necessary I was told that the dentist was thinking about if they would still see me as a patient. Basically before deciding if these films are medically necessary based on a discussion with me or an evaluation they just wanted to make some extra money. Ridiculous! Now on to file a complaint with the Board of Medicine.

I picked Dr. Whitfield-​Locke solely because she was close to my house and I figured how bad could a dentist be? Really bad apparently! I was appalled at the service and treatment I received from her for the following reasons:
Her waiting room was lackluster. I don’t expect much out of a dentist waiting room but she had only two magazines which were outdated and geared for children. Also, it was small with barely enough chairs to accommodate all her patients. If two more people had shown up, someone would have had to stand!
The wait time is ridiculous. I have low standards for dentist being on time, but my appointment was at 4:00 p.m. and she didn’t see me until 5:25! She also seems to not have any dental hygienists on staff, so she in turn did my teeth cleaning, which leads me to my next complaint…
She did an awful job cleaning my teeth. I have had amazing teeth cleanings before (Francis at Wilshire Park Dental in Los Angeles… in fact I should write a positive review about that place after this) and I KNOW what a good, quality teeth cleaning should feel like and how long it takes. She did the bare minimum with the tooth picks and she didn’t even floss me! What dentist doesn’t floss their patients?! She also was incredibly painful with her tooth mirror! I know, how is a tooth mirror painful? The angles she was leaning the mirror on were hurting my gums and lips. The thing that was not painful? All the tooth hooks she used to clean! I know my teeth aren’t in the best shape, so usually when I get a teeth cleaning, some blood appears and I can FEEL the tartar being scraped off. I got none of that from Dr. Whitfield-​Locke.
Last rant — I was the last patient of her day and she RUSHED me out of there. I am not joking but between the «cleaning» and the «check-​up» she spent a total of 5 minutes on my teeth! I would appreciate my dentist to spend more then that on something as important as my teeth!
After my experience with Dr. Whitfield-​Locke, I am NEVER going back to her office ever again.
Oh and a heads up for Unilocal reviewers, she has two addresses listed for her office. I went to the one located on 3333 14^th St. NW #110 in DC.
