Cc Liquor

A basic liquor store in DC. It’s cramped and cluttered inside. The registers were behind a wall of glass, which I understand is for their protection, but didn’t help with the vibe. I wanted to get in and get out as soon as possible. They have a good selection/​variety of liquor.

Has anyone figured out what the fuck their hours are yet? It’s like a craps shoot. 9:30pm on a Friday night — maybe we’re open, maybe we’re not. Go screw yourself either way. But maybe we’ll be open on Sunday at 10:20AM.
Aside from that neverending saga, the place is solid. Don’t come expecting a D’Vines experience with small batch/​microbrews. If you do, you’re going to have a bad time. M’kay? You do however get an inch thick bulletproof glass for the cashiers and a plethora of mediocre to medium quality liqour and beer selection. But hey, we’re in Columbia Heights — sometimes shit goes down.
What this place does, and does well is sell you the convenience of its location and somewhat reasonable prices. I did balk at the fact they tried hitting me for $ 3.00 for a liter o cola. Kindly smiled and put that shit back with the quickness.
The staff is awesome. Always willing to help and joking around.

Had such an awesome experience here, which may seem an odd thing to say about a liquor store, but… My dad and I walked over to get cocktail hour supplies as we were staying in the area for about a week. It seems like the place is run by a husband and wife, both very friendly, and as we were browsing around the husband came out and was making (good-​natured) fun of my dad for having missed a loop on his belt. So my dad had to take off his belt there and fix it of course. He also helped me pick out a couple things from behind the counter (orange bitters, a smaller bottle of vodka) and pointed me in the direction of the limes. We picked up some scotch and some rye as well, and as we were done checking out and getting ready to leave the wife threw in a bottle of Ciroc Amaretto for free! I guess that’s how you can tell you just spent too much money at the liquor store?
tl;dr: go here, buy booze, get dunk, you won’t regret it. Unless maybe you’re a Hindu, Muslim, or Mormon then you might regret it… but you could always just go in and BS with the couple working there for a good time.

This liquor store has most of the standard types of bourbon, gin, and vodka that are consumed in this country. Don’t expect artisan vermouth or a particular small batch bourbon though. The staff are friendly, but the inch-​thick plexiglass standing between the customers are the cashier doesn’t put off an inviting vibe.

While not the biggest selection in the world, the selection is not bad and they get full marks based on good prices and service. The owners (husband and wife I think) are super friendly and always willing to help, making me feel like VIP every time I go, even though I only go once every few weeks.

They have a very extensive selection of liquor, especially vodka which is what I primarily buy there. Pretty extensive beer selection as well, although I would not recommend them for wine (as that selection does not seem as good as the beer and hard liquor selection). Prices are very good. Very friendly guy behind the counter. He always make me feel like his favorite customer, even though I only go once a month or so.
For a combination of selection and price one of the best liquor stores in DC.

Looks like any other liquor store on the outside, but they have a surprisingly good selection. They’re very friendly there and are helpful, and that’s kind of rare in a place where the person behind the plexiglass is usually as rude and curt as they can be. There are also a few beers available that are a step above your Miller/​Bud/​Coors light, such as Anchor Steam, Longhammer maybe?, and a couple Sam Adams varieties. Obviously not the first place I’d go for beer, but if I need something that isn’t Bud light then I’m not left out in the cold. They also have all of the mixers, etc. that you would possibly need, which is especially convenient.

Not the greatest selection; however, the customer service is over the top! The owner and his wife keep me coming back every weekend and some stressful week nights ;-P

This place has a great selection or beers especially Flying Dog which I love. The prices are totally reasonable. They also a selection have wine and liquor, lots of good vodkas.

In a city awash of liquor stores, this one shines above the din. And it has its manager to thank.
Sure you can get your mad dog ²⁰⁄₂₀ or miller lite anywhere. But what keeps me coming back is the man behind the counter. Always ready to help you pick out items, bends over backwards to make sure you’re not spending too much (i.e. will point out if something is on sale), and just damn pleasant to be around.

Right in the heart of Columbia Heights, convenient location, easy access/​great selection of alcohol. Had Affligem beer, my favorite beer-​which is a rarity to find around the city. There were other unique beers imported from around the world, even organic beer!
parking is bad, like every other part of the city…

Good as a neighborhood liquor store, and with a good selection.

Almost all the booze other than cases of beer are behind the giant wall of Plexiglas. Unsure of my desires and desiring to be in close proximity to the booze (touch/​feel/​smell) I head across the street to liquor store #2.
