Embassy Suites – Washington

I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The lobby was under construction so the pool wasn’t available. Wish I knew that before I booked.
At different times channels on the tv would be unavailable. The complementary breakfast was great. The evening happy hour was great too. I enjoyed that.
There was no AC in the room. I turned the temperature all the way down and no air was coming out of the vents. Trying to get on the phone to the staff was a waste of time. I’ll avoid this hotel if I ever come back.

Hotel doing repairs. Lobby is old looking and very dated. Hotel security acts like you are a criminal when you walk in and out. Did not feel wanted or comfortable with my staff front desk could be more helpful too.

Been here a few times my favorite! The stuff is so nice! Breakfast in the morning so good!!! Location is great! There’s a Walgreens and Starbucks so close ! I walked there everyday ! I recommend it !!

I really enjoyed this hotel. Found myself walking to various places because it’s in close proximity to where I needed to go. Excellent service, comfortable bed, overall… would come here again. The complimentary breakfast is delicious too lol

I enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay here again. It was close to quIte a few places to eat, but the drawback was it was quite a ways (I walking distance) from the monuments and museums. The drinks at night were well worth the stay, but the breakfast got boring after a while. The staff was real nice and very helpful.
The one big issue that I have is with the internet In the bedroom was very weak or didn’t work at all. When I told the front desk about it they were quick in putting a booster in the room for us, but they shouldn’t have that problem and need to fix it before they get more complaints.

A great location in the heart of Georgetown. The staff was very friendly. Love the complimentary breakfast daily though it can use variation. Made to order omelets, bagels, waffles, fruit, cereal. Only complaint was the coffee but lots of nearby coffee shops to explore.
The evening reception was unlimited drinks and light snacks. They had chips and veggies and assorted dips. One night they had hummus. Two hours of non stop drinking, can’t complain about that!
The bed was comfortable but the room could use updating. Surface areas were cleaned but we found an iPad in the back of the tv cabinet that had been there since December. Daughter is going to try and find rightful owner.
Wifi was spotty and we told the front desk and they immediately put a booster in the room for a better signal.
Would stay here again when I come back to town. It’s walkable to the monuments and museums. Just under 2 miles to the Lincoln memorial. Lots of nearby eateries and very close to DuPont circle.

I stayed a week, and like the five star rating says, it’s «As good as it gets».
I dealt with Seyi (shay), Christina, Dunn, Sergio, Luis, Michael and James the engineer, and each and every hotel employee I interacted with was wonderful; so great I took note of their names before leaving since I knew I wanted to sing their praises. When I could not work the clock or needed a light bulb replaced James the engineer was there in a flash. The room was good, there were lots of channels to watch so I appreciated that in the evenings when I had an hour to relax and watch a movie, and I’ll admit I never found time for the pool so I can’t comment on that, but I can say I had a wonderful time and the staff is what made it so great.
I book travel for many folks other than myself and I will recommend the DC Embassy Suites every time. I loved it.

Great location right in the heart of Georgetown. A few blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro station and lots of great restaurants very close.
Check-​in was very easy and the clerk was pleasant and professional.
Breakfast has a wide variety of pastries and they also make eggs to order which is a nice touch. The food was great and the coffee was strong.
We had an updated room and it was very nice, comfortable bed, great toiletries. Made for a nice stay.
The property is showing a lot of signs of it’s years. It’s not run down by any stretch but there’s a lot of work to be down (common area carpet cleaning/​replacement, etc.).
All of that in mind I would without doubt stay at this property again.

We stayed at this Embassy Suites July 4 – 9, 2015 on a family vacation. The location is great. The staff is friendly. My problem was with the cockroaches. The first night we were there my daughter saw what she thought was a mouse run across the room. We searched but couldn’t find anything. The next night my son was getting out of the shower when a cockroach THE SIZE OF A MOUSE ran across the bathroom. He killed it. I let the front desk know but the hotel was full so there wasn’t much they could do. Needless to say, where there’s one cockroach there are more. Manager offered to reduce my room rate for those two nights and said he had the cleaning staff do a deep clean. He also said he’d give me a bunch of Hilton Honors points — which they still have not done. When I called to follow up I was told I’d have an answer in 74 hours. That was five days ago.

Not impressed. Pictures of pool are greatly deceiving, it’s a slightly oversized hot tub and shouldn’t be qualified as a pool. There were 25 people in pool when we went there, you couldn’t even extend your arms to left or right without hitting 4 – 5 people.
Italian Restaurant had a rat run across restaurant while we were there. Some customers were really upset about it (and weren’t offered refund), we just took our business elsewhere.
Location and price is why I gave two stars over one.
The «managers cocktail hour» included chips and salsa, fountain machines without ice, and watered down alcoholic beverages with long lines. I guess you can’t complain, it’s free, but not as good as most «free» manager specials.
Pay $ 50 more and stay at Westin or Ritz, worth every penny.
Game room doesn’t have machine built in last 25 years.

I don’t want this four star review to bring them down. I just can’t give many hotels all give stars. The location is unbeatable. I went running in Rock Creek everyday. The Metro is only s few blocks away. There’s good food in most directions.
The staff is friendly. The rooms and rest of the hotel are not brand new. It’s an Embassy Suites. You get a bigger room that probably looks a lot like your house. Housekeeping kept up with our slobbery very well.
I had an omelet one day and it was fine.

I’m a loyal Hilton member and have stayed at a number of Embassy Suites for various work trips. This one definitely has some work to do! Room was pretty grimy and the service at the front desk was not great. My room stopped working at least 3 times so I had to keep going up and down to get it fixed. Really frustrating!

Location is perfect! Hotel itself is very dated the beds are not very confortable! I stayd here 3 days! Parking is 44 dollars what is crazy! There is free breakfast so thats ok! I personaly would not recomend this hotel to any of my friends.

Very large rooms in desperate need of remodeling. The mattresses are so soft I woke up with a back ache. I requested a very quiet room and was given a room on the top floor overlooking a small street. I was woken up at 5 by a garbage truck. Street noise is amazingly loud for a hotel room. Finally the wifi in the room is very slow. I would happily sacrifice the large room and generic breakfast for a quiet, well lit room with a comfortable bed.

Convenient to DuPont.
Good rates.
Spacious rooms.
Clean.
No bugs.
Great place for kids.
Plenty of common space to hang out in.
Pretty decent restaurant.
Cons:
Elevators so slow we chose to walk 8 flights.
One elevator was broken/​stuck off and on.
Kids running everywhere, felt like I was in a Disney hotel
Broken HVAC in our room — though they fixed it
Old chipped and cheap furniture
Running toilet that drove us crazy

Solid, safe option. Decent service from the desk staff. Unfortunately, I missed the breakfast, and the happy hour — I’m a fan of Embassy Suites breakfasts. Location is reasonable walking to DuPont Circle and the surrounding establishments.
This location is a bit tired. Clean and didn’t smell old, but felt worn out. Knicks and dings in the trim and furnishings.
Wifi was acceptable, and I was in a corner room — not sure where they keep their boosters. Parking is self-​parking, but still about $ 40 with in-​and-​out privileges [no, there wasn’t an Animal Style option].

This is a very nice hotel which features a large internal atrium, free hot breakfast, and other amenities in the heart of D.C. The staff are generally friendly and helpful and there is also a decent gym, pool, and jacuzzi.
Parking is very difficult and expensive, but the location is very convenient to most of the hot spots in the District.
Prices are decent for what you get, but look for good deals online.

…Not the best embassy as far as décor and renovations, but still a great hotel. The complimentary full breakfast is a great perk. The staff was very efficient with the check-​in process. They were also helpful when approached about directions/​events around town. The bellhop was even helpful enough to direct me to an available street parking spot, where I remained throughout my stay, instead of paying to park in the garage. The location is close enough to popular tourist attractions to walk or take a quick bus ride without being directly in the midst of it all. Overall, it was definitely a satisfactory stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Unilocalers are pretty spot on about this place.
Pros: Good location near a lot of restaurants and bars. Pretty close to the White House and the Mall, and all the Smithsonian museums. Price for a one bedroom and living room can not be beat. They offer a complimentary breakfast and happy hour.
Cons. Just a worn out hotel. My room is pretty tired and trashed. Large and impersonal place. The breakfast is pretty yucky. WiFi is so so.
I guess in the final analysis if this is a price consideration stay here; as Embassy suites offers a really good value proposition (you can always shell out another 300 to 500 bucks a night for the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons down the street).

Good place to stay! Taxi from DCA (Regan Airport) was $ 19. 4 nights cost about $ 750+tax.

Quick/​attentive service (had issue with fridge at 11p, and it was replaced within minutes)

It’s your standard Embassy Suites. Rooms look identical to others. Hotel layout is same. Gym is above the «hotel» average and definitely in the number of cardio machines. Great location!

I stayed at this Embassy Suites location prior to officially settling into DC. I chose to stay at this hotel based on its prime location, the free breakfast in the morning, and being able to have a King Bed. I paid quite a bit (around $ 250 a night) but it must have been a peak time when I booked for conferences in DC.
Once I arrived, I was told that my room wasn’t ready. Once it was ready, I was given a room with two beds – they said they were Queen, but I’m pretty sure it was between a Full/​Twin bed. I was quite disappointed with the room, but the staff made it seem like I should be happy to even have a room. Also, I was on a low level floor and could hear a lot of traffic/​night noise/​sirens at night. Since the room wasn’t as advertised, I inquired and they did give me free wifi for my stay, but it’s too bad that they normally charge for wifi!
The rooms are spacious because they are suites, but quite dated. When I mean dated, I felt timewarped with their choice in microwave, TV, and fridge. I didn’t use the swimming pool but it was really small and crowded.
The breakfast was standard to other self-​serve breakfast. I’ve been to other Embassy Suites locations that had better breakfasts. It is probably because it is DC, but the clientele in the morning seemed kind of stressed out and all in business suits.
Overall, the location is prime, but you may not get what you request. If you can get a cheap rate, it may be worth it, but I didn’t feel like I got what I paid for.

Pricey and cheap usualy does not go well together. Rooms do not have safes. Not one little bottle of water in the room. The silverware at breakfast is as old as the hotel itself. The trays are sticky, wet and diirty. For $ 400 you would expect a bit more!
