Founded in 1982, we are a family-​owned business that was started to bring affordable, quality picture framing to the DC area. We have framed, matted, or dry-​mounted more than 120,000 items for more than 11,000 customers since we opened. Our services include do-​it-​yourself framing, custom framing, conservation framing, box mounts, drymounts, canvas stretching, jersey shadowboxes, and much more. Established in 1982.

Frame of Mine is a family owned business founded in 1982 to bring affordable, quality picture framing to the DC area. Since then, we’ve framed, matted, or dry-​mounted more than 120,000 items for more than 11,000 customers.

We bring everything from simple prints to complicated tile and ceramic framing to Frame of Mine and have always been extremely happy with the results. Their staff are patient, creative and helpful in selecting matting and frame styles and colors to bring out the best in our art work.
Since moving to Capitol Hill we never go anywhere else for our framing needs – they’re the best.

They are the best. They have the knowledge and the «eye» to pick the best elements to use for framing artworks. In some cases they have restored and reused the original frames we had because they were chosen by the artist and decorated by him. They did a wonderful job each time. We have never used the DIY option (because we are lazy) but I’ll keep it in mind for straightforward things.
Most importantly, you can trust the people at Frame of Mine for good advice, price, and product!

I’ve been going to Frame of Mine for nearly ten years and they have always been superb! For some reason I am infuriatingly indecisive when it comes to choosing frames and matting but the staff is always incredibly patient and helpful and eager to work with you to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for. Their prices are reasonable and the quality of the finished product is first rate. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have been gouged by other DC frame shops (especially with «specials» from Groupon etc.) so it was a delight to find a place close to home that does high quality work for reasonable prices. Frame of Mind will fully frame anything but if you just need something matted and mounted, they handle that, too. I am so pleased that their new location will be on Capitol Hill near the current site. I recommend this business without reservation.

We have had a number of framings of old family photos – some over 100 years old and an excellent job is always done with exquisite attention to our emotional investment in the outcomes. Several choices are always proposed by the friendly and respectful staff in their neat and well kept shop.

Frame of Mine staff are incredibly helpful, suggesting frames and matting colors that may not be what you initially thought, but look great. I’ve had 7 things framed with them, and each has been wonderfully done, and with great care. The option to put the framing items together helps if you’re on a budget. I assembled 2 of the frames, and the rest were completed by the staff. Excellent quality, reliable staff who care about what they are doing. I recommend them, and will continue to use them in the future.

Love this place. They’ve framed two of my diplomas and several other projects. It’s a real community shop. They’re patient with my incredible indecision, and always happy to offer pro tips about what works and doesn’t.
I actually have no idea how they compare on price, but my sense is that they’re reasonable (and really, with what I spent on law school, shouldn’t I pony up to preserve the diploma?). Turnaround time is generally pretty short, though they get a little bogged down during their huge annual Chinese New Year sale.

Cheers to Beverly and the wonderful staff of Frame of Mind! I brought in an antique American flag that had been stored in a musty basement for decades! It smelled terrible — but they were all smiles and helpful. Additionally, it was huge– as in nearly 6 feet long! They had to use plexiglass because of the availability of glass in that size. they did a gorgeous job– gave me a ridicously awesome price (I got quotes for $ 1500 – 2000 minimum from another place). I will always return to them for framing!
They accomodated me and when there was a delay from a manufacturer– they contacted me and were extremely helpful and polite!
In a town of grumpy, stressed out, and mean people– the staff of frame of mind stands out for their great attitude, professional service, creativity, and professionalism. Truly a customer service oriented experience.

Frame of Mine is exactly the local business many of us yearn to find. They are truly a treasure, and I will never take my frameable art anywhere else in Washington, DC.
The staff are warm, welcoming and professional, and really know their stuff. They always have taken the time to work with me to design and choose the best materials for my art, archival matter and photography. They deliver exactly as promised.
To make this even more compelling, I happen to live in Arlington, Virginia and to work downtown in Washington DC. I do not live or work any where near Frame of Mine — but that is no obstacle for me. They are worth the extra travel and inconvenience, since I am 100% confident that they will do an outstanding job on every assignment I hand them.
I will always remain loyal to Frame of Mine so long as they continue performing in so many superior ways.
