Do not ever park in the lot located @ 701 8^th Street, NW! We are from out of town and apparently DID NOT READ the very, very small print on the very, very small sign stating the garage CLOSED @ 9:00 pm??? Are you kidding me??? Imagine our dismay when we returned to the lot and it was sealed up tight as a tick… so, we called the phone number on the very, very small sign and were told it would be at least 25 minutes before someone would be able to come and let us retreive our car! Mind you, it was pouring down rain and 45 degrees!!! Now, when we arrived to the lot, the attendant was so busy collecting our $ 15.00 in a hurry, I guess he just «forgot» to kindly mention the 9:00 PM CLOSING TIME! It’s absolutely ridiculous that a PARKING GARAGE WOULD CLOSE @ 9:00 pm on a weekend night??? I also found it interesting that the guy who showed up to let us in told me that this situation «HAPPENS ALL THE TIME»…so I guess I am not the only person who did not READ the very, very small print on the very, very small sign. Oh yeah, the guy that answered the phone for MarcParc was RUDE and showed ZERO customer service skill… I think he needs to be trained on how to handle these type of callers/​situations. I would like to SUGGEST/​RECOMMEND ONE THING TO MARCPARC: PLEASE SPEND SOME $$ AND INVEST IN LARGER SIGNAGE AND LARGER VERBIAGE STATING YOUR RANDOM CLOSING TIMES… ALSO, IT MIGHT BE SMART TO HAVE THE MONEY-​GRABBING ATTENDANT SIMPLY MENTION THE CLOSING TIME TO YOUR PATRONS. I would love to have my $ 15.00 returned due to the MAJOR inconvenience! I will NEVER park in any MarcParc garage!

I worked for marcparc for about 6 months a few years ago and the event staff seems to be populated with mostly ex-​convicts. Their management is ex-​military and they all seemed to be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. They also do not do drug testing — A percentage of the people parking your cars could be full blown drug addicts selling dope out of your car while they have it.
They also found some BS reason to fire me once I got close to getting benefits which seems shady and possibly a violation of law.

I have nothing but GOOD THINGS to say about MarcParc. They truly are «people driven.» I had a situation with my car that MarcParc resolved to my satisfaction. One employee in particular, Mr. Terrill Coggins, exemplfied the «people driven» customer service. He was helpful, attentive and fair. I am a HUGE fan. Keep up the excellent work Marc Parc.

Here is my story:
On the night of May 11^th, I attended an event at the Library of Congress. I drove my car to the event. The valet parking was being run by Lawrence McCray and MarcParc, Inc. I paid $ 10 to have my car valet parked for the approximately three and a half hours I was at the event. When I got my car back from the valet attendant, I noticed that the car was at operating temperature (meaning the oil was at ~185 degrees and the coolant was fully warmed up). Someone who knows cars well will tell you that, after almost four hours of supposedly sitting in parking lot a car should be well cooled off, especially on a cool spring night. I got in my car and started to drive and noticed that there were almost a full three miles on the odometer compared to when I gave the car to the valet when I had arrived. I then noticed that the coolant and oil were at operating temperature. This was a red flag to me that my car had not been treated very nicely. I drove home thinking to myself that I needed to check the entire car as soon as I got home. I pulled into my garage and, in my full suit, I proceeded to check out the car. Upon one walk around, it was obvious that the valet had damaged one of my wheels. I am an avid car enthusiast and I keep my car in very good condition at all times so the damage stood out to me like a sore thumb once I was inside the lighted garage instead of the dark DC streets. Upon seeing the damage, I jumped back in my car and headed right back to the event hoping the valets had not gone home for the night. They had not left yet and I spoke with the manager of the event, Mr. Lawrence McCray. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me that I had caused this damage to my own car despite the wheel being in mint condition when I left for this very event. He then informed he that I would need to file a claim with MarcParc, Inc. which I did the very next morning. My claim has now been denied and the company’s position is that I did this damage myself despite having an accident free record and a proven track record of keeping immaculate care of my automobiles. I want everyone who is considering using this business to be aware of how MarcParc employees will treat the property they handle and how discourteous and disingenuous the company executives handle complaints against them.
After I was told that my claim was denied, I informed Kirk Nielson of MarcParc, their Director of Auditing and Claims, via e-​mail and in person that I planned to file a claim with the BBB as well as filing a small claims suit. They still have no intention of making things right.
