First time getting a colonic and it went great! Well the actual experience was uncomfortable but Dr. Knights tried to make me extremely comfortable and patiently answered my dozen or so questions. The procedure goes like this: you change into a robe in the bathroom, then you’re lead into a room with the big colon cleanse machine thing, you lie down on it and stick the very small tube in your you-​know-​what (!), you have control of the water that streams through it – the water expands your colon and voila! The fun begins! The machine has a toilet-​like area for you so it shouldn’t be too messy, and you can choose to look at your «movement» when you’re done (I declined). Overall it was an awkward 30 minutes but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience more comfortable. Pretty expensive ($ 85) compared to other Living Social/​Groupon colonics but I think it’s worth it since they were so nice and the place was spotless! Oh, did I forget to mention that I lost 4.2 POUNDS?! I’ll probably gain it right back but the fact that 30 min of hydrotherapy rid my body of 4.2 pounds of contents is remarkable and I look forward to going back in the near future.
