Specialties
Attentive service and a warm, rustic atmosphere showplace the straight forward dishes of the Tuscan region, which include prime aged beef grilled over live embers, simple pasta dishes and risottos, grilled seafood and fowl, freshly baked bread, and homemade desserts. Tortelloni al Burro e Salvia — thinly rolled pasta enclosing generous amounts of ricotta and spinach that is handmade fresh daily and dressed with a butter and fresh sage sauce — is a Ricchi family favorite and can be found on our regular menu.
In addition to these diverse offerings, our menu features a selection of daily specials that include fresh fish and classic cuts of meat such as prime rib and veal shank.

History
Established in 1989.
A family tradition was carried from the Tuscan village of Cercina, Italy to Washington D.C., combining the warmth of the traditional Italian dining experience with signature family recipes from the original Trattoria i Ricchi. Over the past twenty-five years, Christianne Ricchi has received numerous awards and the highest national ratings for her skilled and consistent management of the i Ricchi kitchen and dining room. In 1997, President Luigi Scalfaro of Italy awarded i Ricchi with the most prestigious honor of Italian dining, the Insegna Del Ristorante Italiano, which confirmed its status as one of the best Italian restaurants in the world.
