I appreciate that this place is a QUALITY sandwich place. The bread always tastes fresh, and so do the ingredients. That said, I still haven’t found my go-to sandwich here(and I’ve been here several times). Nothing has been so good that I am craving it again. BUT, them risotto balls though!!! They seemed a little gimmicky on the menu, but there are so so so good. Worth buying even if you’re on a budget and a sandwich seems like a splurge. Actually, you could totally just order these instead of a sandwich. Another note, I coordinate catering for my company, and Taylor Gourmet has their catering down! There’s nothing better than seeing boxes of sandwiches and knowing they’re gonna please people.

Consistently good and fresh food. Seasonal menu is really the way to go, very inventive. Also, service is quick and friendly every time I’ve been there.

This place is all over the map. Some foods are super bland and others are super salty and over seasoned. Anything fried is way over seasoned and salty. I got a chicken cheese steak, and was the blandest thing ever, I had to cover it in ketchup for any flavor. The subs, I feel like they need to be «fancy» and use high end cheeses and meats, which leaves the sandwich tasting like a million things. This is a hoagie, not a 5 star restaurant. They need to just tackle a «good sandwich» and go from there. I ordered a side salad which had scallions, squash, sunflower seeds etc… It was absolutely disgusting. It was warm with mayo(which isn’t listed to be on the salad) that, in my opinion, «tasted like old people». If you’re not sure what that is, order the butternut nut squash salad.

While the meat was fresh, the sandwich has lacked flavor. I’ve tried Taylor twice and I’ve been underwhelmed by their sandwiches.

Ordered the juniper sandwich(curried chicken salad, slaw, grapes) on toasted sesame bread. Overall it satisfied my after drinking appetite, but I felt that the chicken was too salty for my taste. Bread was too hard and crunchy as well.

I just had one of the BEST sandwiches ever at this location! It’s one of the new seasonal favorites – the curried chicken salad. Oh my god! There was just enough curry but not too much, the slaw was fresh and crunchy and the sriracha-honey sauce was amazing. Tons of layers of flavors. I’ll be getting one every day it’s available! Now I wish I’d bought the large!

I don’t know how it’s possible to be so bad at service but this Taylor location managed to do it. I came to order dinner take out because the place was empty, after taking my order it took them 30 minutes to get two simple salads and a soup together. Even with 30 minutes they managed to get an uncomplicated order wrong. I won’t be going again.

Regularly come here with my classmates for a quick lunch, and while it’s good… it’s not GREAT. First tried the Bella Vista, and while I loved the salami, ham, provolone, and peppers, the large chunks of picked cauliflower from the giardiniera was an odd addition to the texture of the sammie, not to mention the constantly falling veggies while you are trying to eat. Next tried the cheesesteak no 2, which was nice, but I had to pick out the enormous amount of wilty shredded lettuce to fit it into my mouth. I also had to tear the sandwich into thirds because for some reason they did not cut it. They did not skimp on the ribeye, which was nice, but the overwhelming amount of bread turned one sandwich into a lunch, a late afternoon snack, and a late night dinner for my husband later. Fresh ingredients and excellent staff, but not the best sandwhich shop in town.

Taylor is consistently good for the most part. I have tried quite a few of their sandwiches and most have been good. My absolute favorite is the cheesesteak. It is hands down the best item I have had. The south is great as well… if it isn’t overcooked. I have gotten this sandwich before and the chicken was so over fried it was almost black and it was hard as a rock. Order at your own risk. My husband likes the meatball and the chicken salad. Some of their menu items are seasonal so don’t get too attached. If you find one you love, it could be gone soon. I don’t love that aspect but it keeps things fresh and is part of their brand I guess. I’d rate them a strong 3.5 stars.

This review is for their vegetarian options only. Risotto Balls with Marinara sauce — AMAZING! But then again, many items deep fried and filled with cheese is hard to mess up. 5⁄5 stars. I would order this again! Christian Sandwhich — I ordered this sandwhich on wheat bread and it was a bit dry and not that great. 2⁄5 stars. I would not order this again. Cumberland Sandwhich– I ordered this on wheat bread, and what a dissapointment. This sandwhich is dry and the chickpea fritters are soggy. 2⁄5 stars. I would not order this again. Overall, the veggie options suck. This is not the place to go if you are vegetarian!

40 minutes to get 2 salads and some kids chicken fingers. They had 2 people working in the whole place preparing the food, taking orders, running the register and keeping the place open. The place was packed and everyone was waiting for food. If I hadn’t paid when I ordered, I would have bailed for sure. The owners need to be onsite and see what is going on here. Hire more people and make this place work or it will most likely go out of business. Food came out acceptably prepared and correct, which is the only reason for the second star. Would not stop in again.

I’ve given Taylor plenty of stellar reviews. Their sandwiches have rocked. The owners used to be in there; probably watching quality. They need to get their attention back to the details again. That’s the amount of goat cheese on my South?!? See photo. I didn’t feel like asking for it again and I shouldn’t have to! It ruined such great work on other components of the sandwich, such as excellent breaded chicken! Adding some arugula to this one might help too. Also, very sad to see Island Ave off the menu.

Great sandwich shop with healthy options. I wanted something quick and healthy so I decided to order the race on cracked whole wheat. The sandwich was actually pretty good. The price was little high for a turkey sandwich but what do you expect with the name Taylor«gourmet» lol. The service was great and they made my order in a pretty reasonable time. Will most likely return.

I’ve seen Taylors ever since I moved to DC but never got a chance to try it out until a couple of weeks ago. I was coming back from kickball aka drinking so I was starving. That however, did not stop me from appreciating such a delicious sandwich. They had so many choices but I opted for a classic… The Federal. It’s been a while since I’ve had a decent Italian sandwich and this did it justice. The bread itself was amazing, definitely reminded me of the Italian bread my uncle brings back from Brooklyn delis. The Federal also had a good hefty amount of meats, which most places in DC seem to lack. The store was clean and the people who work there were really nice and patient as they waited for me to finally decide what to eat.

Staff is friendly, great location! The lunch rush is pretty intense, as it should be! This place is gooood! I started going to the K St. location of Taylor Gourmet since I work in the area. So far I have had the classic cheesesteak sandwich, one of their breakfast sandwiches and my favorite– the chicken cheesesteak!!! I love it. Best chicken sandwich I have had in DC– seasoned to perfection. I get mine with no onions. On my second visit ever, one of the cashiers(didn’t get his name) let me sample all of the soft drinks which were sooo tasty. I liked the black cherry flavor and it went great with my sandwich. If any of you have ever been to &Pizza you’ll know why the soft drinks here are worth getting! Looking forward to my next visit and my next chicken cheesesteak! I don’t know if I’ll be able to eat anything else. Just kidding! Might try the turkey next time.

We came in around 2pm to avoid the lunch rush, and I’m glad we did since the shop is tiny. All the sandwiches here are made to order, and each one of them look so good and I want to try them all but I went with the Cherry St, Merion, Pearl St, and some Risotto balls. The buns are lightly toasted, the regular sized sandwiches are pretty big for one, they are a little bit pricey, and I believe they use real sugar for their signature fountain drinks. I went with the cream soda and that was not bad. It had a weird after taste :/ The Risotto balls were good but not as good as the aranchini balls I had in Miami. These were stuffed with cheese and I’m not sure if there were rice in it or not. Overall I enjoyed every bite of the sandwiches that I had. Definitely will come again if I’m in the area.

I am a HUGETG fan and have been to a handful of their locations in the DC area. They are consistently super clean, delicious, fresh, have great service, and offer high quality ingredients. It’s a little pricey, but definitely worth it. You won’t get a gross, sub-par Subway sandwich here. I personally love their traditional white sesame seed rolls, but if you think they’re too hard, you have other options – such as a soft roll; you just have to ask for it. The Cherry Street sub with roast beef, brie and arugula is my all-time fave. I’ve had their salads too, and they are outstanding. This location is fine, but it was incredibly uncomfortably warm inside when we stopped in last week before the Concert for Valor. I was relieved that we were taking our sammies to go. FYI– Download their app and add a credit card so that you can get a free $ 5 credit. It’s super easy to pay using the app too.

The polumbo(sp?) salad with no cheese sustained me for lunch EVERYDAY for a hot and steamy week in DC. It’s basically an Italian meat salad and the cashier will ask if you want to ADDMOREMEAT in the form of chicken breast(lol). If I go back, I’d ask to add cucumber to balance the super flavorful pepperoncinis and dressing. I obviously can make this chopped salad at home but I was thousands of miles away and the cool, sassy crunch of the salad was a great mid-day pick me up. Even if the line looks long, do not despair! Service is super fast and friendly. :D
