Ticket Giveaway: “Anything Goes” @ The Warner Theater

Woah serioulsy?! I got two free tickets to this great show at the Warner Theater, and I was beyond amazed to find that my tickets were the absolute best seats in the house — third row, directly center (third row was actually better than first bc you would be TOO close). The show was really professional and the first broadway show I have seen in a while because I’m too cheap to buy the tickets usually, haha. I definitely impressed my plus one as well ;)

LOVED the Unilocal tickets made available for this event! The show was a throwback to old Broadway days where the music is awesome and the plot is a bit silly. Can’t go wrong with Cole Porter penned songs! They just don’t make em like this anymore!
The Warner Theatre also makes you feel like you are in New York. Bring on more tickets, Unilocal!What a treat!

I arrived at the theater at 7:20pm and the start time was 7:30pm and I thought I was good to pickup my tixs at will call. For some bizarre reason, the line was monstrous! I’ve seen other shows at the Warner theater and never seen the line like this. At one point I was super afraid I would miss the opening!
Luckily, me and my friend made it in the nick of time. By the time we got our tixs, the usher threw us the play bill and rushed us inside. The lights were completely off and it was hard to find our seats, but we managed.
I completely loved Anything Goes! It was hilarious. The supporting actors were wonderful. I loved each character and what they brought to the story. The set design was wonderfully done and I loved how they portrayed the rolling rooms on the boat. All the costumes were completely gorgeous! Well done to the costume designer, the outfits looked well made and expensive.
The singing was phenomenal. One of my favorite scenes from the show was the part where everyone just got on the cruise boat and they set sail. While singing their song, everyone swayed back and forth together and it really made the ship seem like it was moving, totally loved it!
The Warner theater is a great small venue, giving an intimate performance. The gold detailing is beautiful. I go to the Kennedy center all the time and while its not like the Kennedy center, the Warner theater has lots of charm.
The whole theater smells like cookies or sweet roasted nuts, it’s great! The concession stand is right outside the theater. Inside the theater feels a little drafty since the exits lead exactly outside.
I’m thankful to Unilocal for all the performances I’ve seen there. I love the Warner theater and I hope I get more chances to go!

The Warner Theater is a pretty amazing venue. It’s intimate and beautifully ornate. There really doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house; our seats were way off to one of the sides, but we could still see mostly everything.
Although I’ve lived in the DC area for a little over a year now, I’m always glad to discover new gems in the area, as there are SO many spots hidden all over the city. So I felt pretty fortunate to attend the Anything Goes show thanks to Unilocal Elite NoVA. Awesome choice for an event! Ultimately, I wasn’t exceedingly impressed with the show itself– it was a bit slow– but it still had its laughs and fancy costumes and whatnot to keep us entertained. And up on my attending the event, I learned about the upcoming Bob’s Burgers Live show. I’ve already purchased tickets and I am very excited to be returning to the Warner Theatre!

What a gorgeous theater! It is on the smaller side… reminds me of the little theater at the Kennedy Center where the NSO plays.
I won 2 tickets from Unilocal for «Nice Work if You can get it» and everything was smooth from start to finish. There was a parking lot directly across the street and it was $ 15 for the weekend (not affiliated with the theater). Easy to find a spot and walk over to the Warner.
Box Office was smooth picking up my tickets at Will Call.
Ushers were friendly and helpful in finding our seats…14^th row directly in the middle.
Lighting and sound was great!
I smelled fresh baked cookies throughout the first half. Come to find out there were no cookies but warm, seasoned nuts. Also, some fresh baked pretzels with a dipping sauce. Two bars and a ladies room that had plenty of stalls.
Drinks and food were brought into the theater. I like that. We didn’t buy anything because we were going to eat at one of the many restaurants right outside.
Small enough to be quaint… velvety and plush to be majestic at the same time! Can’t wait to come back!

I came here the other evening to watch the play Anything Goes, in town for a brief two night showing. I was lucky enough to win tickets via DC Unilocal.Having never gone to the theater in DC before, I was very excited. The theater itself is easy to find, being on 13^th St right before Pennsylvania Ave. It was easy access being just a short walk from the metro center.
The theater itself was beautiful with gold embellishments on all the walls. It felt very austere and invoked a sense of sharing in the glorious past of the theater before modern entertainment. The chairs were comfortable, but not luxurious. Arranged close together, it could be difficult to see if you were seated behind someone tall or someone with large hair. I sat in row T of the orchestra, and though a little far back, I could see and hear everything clearly.
The entrance hall while beautiful, can get quite crowded before the show. Its especially awkward if your entrance is for the orchestra because you have to stand in the flow of people coming in the main theater entrance, while waiting to pass the curtained entrance to your seat. At intermission everyone goes to the bathroom, of which there seemed to be only one regular and one handicap, both which had lines that would take the entire intermission time plus more. It would be nice if they had more restrooms available. The bar was very popular at intermission, they served specialty drinks that had names alluding to the play we were seeing. I ordered the MoonFace for $ 10 which was served in a small cup, but was strong. The popcorn came in prepackaged boxes and was surprisingly good.
The musical itself of course was the highlight of the night. I had never seen Anything Goes and this production was fantastic. I’m still singing all the songs a week later. My favorite was Its Delovely. Emma Stratton was fantastic! I look forward to the next time I can watch a show at Warner Theater.
