History

Established in 1928.

Patrick J. Callanan began the business in 1928 which has been thriving for three generations. Patrick began the business by boarding animals of the community. He would eventually retire and give the opportunity of running the business to his son, Dr. Kevin Callanan. Kevin getting his degree at the University College Dublin in 1969 would add the veterinary practice to the family business. After 40 years of treating the local community it is now Kevin’s turn to do the same. His sons, Dr. Jon Callanan and Neil Callanan have been working for over 10 years in the practice and are keeping the family practice growing treating the animals of the greater Boston area. Jon following his father would also get his degree from University College Dublin in 2008. In 2006 they opened the Massachusetts Animal Medical Center. An 18 000 sq. ft facility with 6 exam rooms, a diagnostic labratory, a digital radiograph system that would include dental capabilities and two surgical sweets.
