LEFT MY PET CAGED IN ITS OWN FILTH ALL DAY!
Took my cats to be groomed and was told they would be ready in 4 hours. When I picked them up only one had been groomed and the other had been left in its carrier the whole time where it had peed and was coated in it. I was told «sorry, couldn’t do that one» and that was it. Not only did they not groom him but now he was covered in his own urine and I had to take him home and shampoo him. They had my cell number and never called. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PETS!

My dog LOVES going to Toureen for day care! The facility looks brand new, it’s super clean, and the staff is very friendly. They all know her by name and she get’s so excited when we walk in. At Toureen, she is out playing ALL DAY! As soon as we get home she heads straight to the couch and passes out. Toureen has been a life saver since she’s not cooped up in my office at work all day and an outlet for her puppy energy.

Toureen has been great for our beagle! He was previously staying home all day (with a walk in the middle) and we could tell he needed some quality time to run around and play with other dogs.
We started taking him to Toureen twice a week and he loves it. The staff is great; they all know him by name and recognize him when he comes in. He seems to get a ton of exercise because he’s usually tired all through the next day. His anxiety issues have decreased and he’s much more socialized — I think Toureen has played a large role in this.
I haven’t used their other services (apart from a nail trimming) but I am considering boarding him there for some of our trips (instead of a house sitter) and will update this review as needed.

My husband and I don’t have enough good things to say about Toureen! We have been bringing our puppy to Toureen for daycare 1 – 2 times a week for the past couple of months and she loves it! We have even boarded her there for 2 nights and we felt extremely comfortable knowing that she would be fine without us. The front staff is friendly and helpful and everyone there knows her by name. She also sleeps like a baby when we bring her home because they keep her so active during the day. We definitely recommend Toureen to anyone who wants to bring their pup to daycare, board them overnight, or get their nails clipped!
One thing that I wish was a little different are their hours. Although they are open 7 days a week, the hours M-​F are 8 – 6 and I always feel like I am rushing to and from work to pick her up. Other than that, no complaints!

This review is solely for the grooming facility…
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT allow them to groom your Yorkie! My previous groomer had a baby and drastically reduced her hours so I figured I’d give this place a try. I drove 40 minutes out of my way to get there.
You can’t meet with the groomer to explain what you want, it’s all done through the receptionist. First mistake!!! I specifically told them to tip my baby’s ears (her hair was extremely long due to years of growing it out) and the groomer not only tipped them about an 8^th of an inch below the original tip line but took it upon themselves to chop all of her other ear hair off so it was super short. They were also told to not touch the face length yet they took it upon themselves to buzz the hair at the bridge of the nose, just below the eyes. Lastly, I said to NOT trim the tail and they buzzed all that hair right off. I picked up my dog and was in complete shock. Two minutes down the road I started to bawl my eyes out because I knew it would take forever to grow back. Whoever said «it’s just hair, it’ll grow back» has never had a terrible haircut!
It’s been almost a year and my dogs hair is still no where back to normal. The tail finally doesn’t look wide and flat, the non-​tipped ear hair is still two inches shorter than the rest of her facial hair, and the hair on the bridge of the nose is finally long enough that it doesn’t stick straight up in her eyes.
Never again! Not worth the 1-​star you’re required to give.

I have to say that I was going to leave a negative review here after picking up my two «fur-​babies» from being boarded for 5 days. I was upset when I got home, but I decided to call Chris first and give him a chance to explain a few things to me. I do feel better. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be back, only because I know I’m probably an over-​protective mother. :-) But give Chris a chance and call him if you have concerns.

Worst place to get a grooming services.
They make it look al nice and friendly, but in reality they are all very rude and unprofessional. They messed up simple haircuts bunch of times. Every single time I took my dog there she would be terrified, I don’t know what they do behind the closed doors, but my dog would be very upset and stressed out after. I was refused service only based on my complaint that they were not professionals. I called in to ask if there were any appointments, was on hold most of the time. Finally I was told I can come in, but the girl could not find me in the system, her manager on the other hand did, but then with in 5 min of our conversation told me I can’t come in. On my arguments that I was just told that I can, she said she has no idea who I spoke to and she can’t see us. I called later to make an appointment for another day and was told the groomer would call me back, which I didn’t understand why and what does he have to do with scheduling. Obviously no one called. I called again and after 10 min hold the «owner» picked up the phone and refused me and my dog in service. I kept asking him for a reason and his answer was that I was not happy. Of course I am not going to be happy if you charge me money and make my dog look ugly and you can’t follow instructions. SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS. Any way I would not trust this place.

Toureen has been amazing! We have been sending our new puppy there 3 days a week since we got her. She loves it there. The staff and the owner are really friendly and there rates are highly competitive with similar places in the area. We were able to save some money by buying a package deal which was a great option for us.

Dear Pet’s loving owner,
Be advise about this place and how they treat your pets. We brought our longhair cat for first time grooming. We mentioned that this is the first time and the kitty is very sensitive and if he doesn’t allow to be groomed they just need to stop and call us back. They said that it will be ok and went ahead with grooming. The cat was nervous and quite scared because of the unusual situation. A couple hours later, we took the cage and our cat was not the same, extremely quite and very strange. Once we got home, we open the cage’s door and once the cat came out of the cage, we were shocked. He could not walk any longer. Something has been done to it.
The nightmare was just beginning… we ended up going through pet’s ER and doing knee surgery on his leg due to trauma done during the simple grooming. I will mentioned that they paid for the treatment, but that does not discount what horrible thing they did and likely causing life lasting injury physically and mentally.
Please make sure you do not do the same mistake we did and bring your loving pet to this place. These people are not good to your pets.

I’m writing this review after about 5 visits, all of which were full day daycare sessions.
A note: our dog got Kennel cough at another facility… it happens. We weren’t upset with that place. Reviews blaming Toureen for a dog contracting kennel cough are unfair. Like children, dogs pick up germs, bacteria and viruses… And it’s pretty hard to pinpoint the origin.
PROS: The facility looks modern and clean. Everyone working there knows your dog. The employees wear uniforms, making it feel more like an actual business. I like that. They are friendly too. My dog seems to love it here and comes home exhausted every day. He also doesn’t smell as bad as when he’s come home from other daycares.
Pricing is very fair for daycare, and buying a package makes Toureen the cheapest game in town, or at least on par with the cheapest. We like that aspect.
There is also a small store inside to purchase food, toys, and general supplies. Prices seem reasonable.
It’s attached to an animal hospital/​clinic, I think. Which seems like a great thing.
CONS: The 6pm pick up has us rushing to get him, to avoid an overnight. I really wish it was extended to 6:30 at the bare minimum. No webcams to check up on my little guy. Very little Facebook activity in terms of posting pictures, in lieu of the cam.
OVERALL: We like most everything about this place, except the pick up deadline. If you can’t make 6pm, this might not be your place. We’ll continue to use Toureen until we have a negative experience, although I don’t anticipate that. If Toureen had a webcam and 7pm pick up time, it’d be perfect.

This review is long overdue! I have been taking my 2 year old dog («child») Max to Toureen since he was a few months old. I had a crazy work schedule and needed someone to take care of him during work days as well as have him socialize early on so that he can be friendly with other dogs. Max has become part of their family as they took him in and treated him as if he was their own. Each time I would drop him off he would run in and get excited to see the entire staff! This is a family owned business which I love even more! I had placed Max overnight at Pooch hotel in Newton which is owned by a corporate company and had a horrible experience with them so I’m happy I found Toureen afterwards.
I’ve read some of the other reviews and think that people have to be realistic and realize that whether it’s a pet daycare or a middle school, there is always a chance your child, pet, etc. will hurt themselves, get sick, or fight with others. If my dog is able to run into a wall at home often because he’s a klutz, s**t can happen when they are at a dog park, walking with you, or at a pet daycare facility.
My experience at Toureen was nothing but great. Each individual there was always so helpful, attentive, and friendly, not only with Max but with me and my boyfriend as well. Since Max went to daycare 5 times a week, I LOVE the fact that you can buy different pre-​paid visit packages and get a discount on them, not only for day care, but for boarding as well. Max also stayed there plenty of times overnight and i’ve never had any issues when picking him up. They have great boarding packages like the stay and play which allows the dog to play in day care, get a walk around the nearby river, and sleep in their suite size room. I could keep going on and on about other great things such as having a vet next door, having pet supplies in-​house, grooming, etc. but this review is already getting so long!
Unfortunately after 2 great years of living in Watertown Max, my boyfriend, and I moved away to Sharon and we no longer drop Max off daily at Toureen because of it. I told everyone there we’ll still bring him from time to time when we’re in the area so he can have fun with his fellow pet friends and the staff he loves so much. I can’t thank enough Chris, Frank, Lauren, Thomas, Maxine (who is no longer there but was great!), and the rest of the Toureen crew that took care of my baby! We will see you soon!

Where have you been? My Lily is almost 13 years old and I just heard of Toureen Pet Resort. Lily had a great time and I was so impressed how clean and welcoming everything and everyone was.

have used Toureen now for board
I got and play group and grooming for 4 ½ years now. Ollie loves this place! He goes in and out wagging his tail. They offer a bath every time he boards and comes out nice and clean! Staff is friendly and very pet-​oriented. I have recommended Toureen to friends and family and they have also had good experiences.

After reading some of these reviews about Chris, I almost didn’t use this daycare. It was the last one I looked at, even though it was the closest to my house. But the others were unacceptable to me for various reasons when I checked them out, and so I went with Toureen.
Admittedly, I am not an easy person to please, and I find a lot of people to be rude, and very rarely post when I’m happy (I should.) but I’ve been bringing Lexi To Toureen now daily for several months and not only is she happy to see the staff each day, but the staff has been consistently pleasant. Not only that, but Chris went above and beyond today to help us out. I couldn’t tell you if they are the best in the world, but from what I’ve seen, and my experience so far, they are the best in The area!

I dropped off my dog there on a Saturday and picked him up on a Monday. As others have said, when we got home, he raced to his water bowl and drank much more than I’ve ever seen him drink in one setting
Also, as others have said, the place smells really bad. My dog now smells like that. I had to give him a bath once we were home for a few hours and the smell wasn’t gone.
Again, reinforcing what others have said, the customer service is awful. I felt like I was bothering them just dropping him off and picking him up. Picking up my dry cleaning is a more pleasant experience.

I created a Unilocal account specifically to review this place. We picked up our cat this morning after a 7 day vacation out of the country and we really should have heeded previous reviews. Our poor little guy’s nails are maimed to bleeding nubs (both dried and bright red blood), and he is significantly heavier than when we dropped him off. He was only about 8 lbs, and now is easily closer to 10. We specifically requested his nails NOT be trimmed after reading horrifying previous reviews, and we brought our own food for him as we keep him on a grain-​free diet at home. The poor thing is howling and desperately trying to clean his paws. I’m cringing just looking at his nails and furious that they ignored my request. If you’re looking for cat boarding, find a place that allows more than 20 mins per day of exercise and doesn’t routinely make cats bleed. We won’t be back.

I just received a rude response from Chris about my previous reviews. I start looking at all the other reviews and notice that he did the same with each review that critiqued the business. He even went as far as to question the truth of one reviewer claiming that the woman was lying when she said her pet got kennel cough.
The poor coverup of incubation for kennel cough being 7 – 10 days so the pet could of had it prior to coming in does not work when you write the SAME response to every person that stated their pet got kennel cough.
As far as my experience, Chris read my review and made NO ATTEMPT to contact me after I picked up my pet with Kennel Cough. Instead me made a note of it in their system and when I called to discuss the situation he put me on hold purposely for 5 minutes then, with what turned into a heated argument, called me out on my review and said he didn’t want to talk to me because I bashed the facility.
Talk about customer service. Chris, look at the reviews, they’re all saying the same thing– poor customer service and shady practices. Instead of spending time on Unilocal trying to cover up the bad reviews, why not work on YOUR business.
I would highly recommend taking the extra time to drive to Pet Smart in Cambridge; its like night and day with the two.

I take my shit tzu for grooming and always have a great experience.
I had an issue with picking up my dog when boarding her. The «pick up» hours seemed limited. I was contacted by Chris at Toureens and will board her her again in the future. Thank you for the call.

Great place if you want your animal maimed and your credit besmirched!
Brought my cat in for a nail trim upon a friends suggestion. when we came to pick her up she was shaking. frightened never seen her like that. They cut too short resulting in bloody paws. We demanded our money back and that they pay for her to get examined. They offered to examine her themselves but she was terrified of them. We said we would prefer to bring her to our own vet and they agreed to cover the cost. Imagine my surprise when collections letters started coming for me to pay toureen for a visit that they not only agreed to pay for but that their poor care necessitated.
The staff is condescending, rude and unprofessional. One star cause Unilocal wont allow zero.

This place is awesome!
We brought our one year old Yorkie Kito here when we decided to go on a last minute weekend trip. Unlike a lot of other pet hotels in the area, Toureen doesn’t require day care before boarding.
When we brought Kito here, we chose to groom him as well. We paid extra for the river walk and personal play time and were surprised to have paid so little overall.
When we picked him up they told us how he was and everything was great. The resort is clean and the staff friendly. Kito wagged his little tail right out of here so we will definitely be bringing him back next time we’re going out of town!
