Wowza these guys are fast.
I called on a Friday morning at around 7:30, just to get an estimate for having a tree that was growing into my foundation removed. They showed up at 8 and said they could do it right then. It was way cheaper than I expected, and they also removed some ugly shrubs that I’d been meaning to dig out for no extra cost.

Marcelo and his crew are fantastic ! They are so talented, hard-​working and scrupulously tidy. I’d gotten several estimates for trimming five trees, including one colossal overgrown tree. Marcelo’s estimate was clearly the best, but I was also impressed by how knowledgeable and easy to work with he was. It took a few back and forth calls to get the estimate, and set an appointment. Game day he was there at the appointed hour, and proceeded to execute the work himself in an organized, proficient way,…plus he was very flexible regarding aesthetic issues. Bonus was that he’d discovered that raccoons had been nesting in the huge, overgrown tree. Great talent and great value ! ! Bravo, Marcelo!

If you need someone to work on your trees, call Marcelo of Rivera Tree Service. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, honest and responsive. He gave us some great tips on how to care for our trees.
We got several quotes for trimming ten trees in our yard. His bid was the lowest by far and he called us back within a couple days to close the deal. Another company told us that it would take a crew of four all day to do the work and that they were booked out for over a month. Marcelo and one helper did the job within the week and were done in three hours.
They took great care not to damage the fence, any surrounding plants, or any of our neighbors’ property. They left our yard nearly spotless and our trees look great. When our trees need some TLC, I will call Marcelo again.

Marcello and his team have done an amazing job in helping us re-​landscape our backyard. I couldn’t be more impressed with his services and professionalism. He is very prompt and on schedule. I highly recommend him.

I called Rivera Tree service for a tree stump removal estimate. Marcelo came out and said he could do it with his truck now, if I have the chain. And it will be less expensive because he does not have to return and use the gas. Slam Bam Thank you Mam — it was done in less than an hour and the charge was minimal for this heavily rooted flowering locust tree. I had been trying for months to whittle away at this beast. Marcelo you are an angel and a hard worker too. Thanks to you and your kind mom who returned my call promptly. I know where to go for my next tree problem.

what everyone else said… this dude rules look no further. super pro, called right back (on a holiday) came out next day for bid, called him back few days later to accept bid, he came out and killed the job the next day. I had called on Marcello and his crew for 2 separate jobs in the last 2 months– removal of a huge tree and trimming of huge tree + smaller trees. I was pleased with the work from the 1^st job and had called on him for the 2^nd job.
He had accommodated a 60-​mile drive to give bid on the 2^nd job.
They were very responsive, coming to the sites to give bid within 24 hours. Both times, I had solicited multiple bids for 1^st job; 2 bids for the 2^nd job. Both of Marcello’s bids were very competitive (one is even at ½ of the next higher-​up bid). Marcello called to confirm of the appointments and were on time, if not earlier, on dates of bid and on dates of work. The crew were very efficient and accommodating, doing more than (trimming up branches to make the tree looking better, not just simply chopping senselessly) what were intended in the original assessment, without complaining nor demanding for additional $.
The crew had cleaned up the job site with manually picking up the small branches, and blowing clean the premises and even the adjacent common areas, neighboring properties’ yards.
I appreciate the time and the care Marcello and the crew took to ensure they left the properties, the trees (or no tree:)) looking better than when they arrived.
I will definitely call on them again for my next job.

I had some really overgrown trees in my backyard that needed a lot of work. Like the rest of you, I went to Unilocal to find out who to call. I found about 4 places with decent reviews and made some calls. 2 places didn’t even return my calls. Another wanted an absurd amount of money because they had an arborist on staff. Then I called Rivera Tree Service.
They came out within a couple hours to give me a free estimate. Marcelo was great. He talked me through the whole process of what they would do and what would be best for my unique situation. I explained my concerns about the branches damaging my other plants and he assured me that they would rope the branches to make sure that there was no damage. He gave me a very reasonable quote and had me call to setup an appointment. I set it up with the woman who works the phone (not sure of her name, but she was great too!) After we had set it up they called because they had a cancelation and wanted to know if I wanted the job done sooner. I said yes and they were out the next day.
They did an amazing job on the trees. I now have so much more sunlight coming into my yard and house. They were professional, clean and courteous.
Based on my experience in trying to find someone to do the job, it is hard to find a reliable company to do tree work.

Marcelo showed up today to service my land, and only a few hours prior, he had gotten his truck broken into with a lot of equipment stolen. From his smile and POSITIVE ATTITUDE on the job, you would have never known!!!
From the quote, I knew he was who I wanted to go with. He offered competitive prices, and he TOOK THE TIME to explain to me things about how to trim trees effectively so that I don’t have to keep trimming them so often.
The job he did was impeccable, and he and his helper CLEANED UP EVERYTHING BEYOND expectation.
Not only do I enjoy paying for good service, I enjoy putting my money towards a a good person.

There is a reason that Marcelo only has five star ratings. I don’t always rely on Unilocal ratings, but obviously this person deserved to be called for a tree bid. His was not the lowest bid, but that was because the first guy was not going to remove the debris (which was enormous). The next closest bid was several hundred dollars more.
Discussing my trees and what needed to be done, he showed obvious knowledge of trees and their care, and offered sound advice about tree management.
Marcelo came when he said he would, moved items (with my permission) so they would not be damaged, did an excellent job of trimming up many redwoods to 25 feet, put the moved items back into place, and left the area neat and clean. He was flexible and willing to accommodate a request made by my neighbor to trim dead limbs higher than 25 feet on one tree, which had not been part of the initial bid. I could not have been more pleased.
Based on the excellent work, I hired him to trim down a huge hedge by several feet. He came out within a week, and again did an excellent job. One more thing: Marcelo was the one to do the actual climbing and branch removal (& chain sawing the hedge, rather than sending out a less experienced crew to work unsupervised.

Marcello recently pruned and topped a large eucalyptus tree in my back yard. He was punctual, did a great job, charged less than his competitors and even figured out a way to save me $ 300. I’ll definitely call him the next time I need tree service!

This tree service has prompt service and good prices. This is the fourth time we’ve used them but not the last! Great company.

I had Marcelo and his team in to top two monster avocado trees (40″ diameter) and chip a few small mountains of brush. His tree surgery work was excellent, his chipping was fast and priced well compared to others who bid on the work, and overall he’s just a really good guy. I’ll be happy to have do all my tree service work from this point one, I have no need to every find another tree service to work on my property.

This is two reviews:
1.Marcello is a fair and honest man who does outstanding work. Marcello has manicured two of our oak trees that are absolutely beautiful.
The rates are more than reasonable.
2. On Mothers Day I was working in my yard with my family. My Parrot decided to join us. The very long story short~ is that a blue jay dive bombed my Parrot and scared her… She flew away into an oak tree about 150ft up. I knew that if I didn’t get her down that afternoon she was dead. I tried a few different things, and finally I thought I am going to call Marello. I did, and he came out to help me in less than 30 minutes. Marcello came completely prepared on a Sunday. He was positive, and helpful. He climbed the tree in minutes and saved my parrots life.
I have had my Parrot for 20 years. My Parrot is worth a few thousand dollars, and is a member of our family. His help will forever be remembered by me and my family. To add to Marcello’s outstanding efforts and concern for my situation, he didn’t want to charge me!!! I wouldn’t allow that.
