«Gimme Sugar» Custom Desserts is a home– based business that provides all-natural baked goods to the Greater Dayton area. Everything is baked to order, never frozen. I am currently only taking special orders and there is a 36 – 48 turnaround on most orders. However, I have been able to accommodate those with rush orders. It never hurts to call. Open hours are call hours only, because this is a home based business. I specialize in vegan desserts and decorated cakes. I also modify recipes to accommodate those with food allergies and sensitivities. There are no artificial flavors or preservatives in our baking. I use only all– natural sugars and unbleached flours. Special recipes and ingredient requests are always welcome. Natural food coloring is available upon request. I also do wedding cakes and provide free consultations and tastings. Orders and questions can always be sent to us through either email, the website, or text message. I do deliver and fees may apply.
History
Established in 2013.
I started my home business while working for Earth Fare, a health food store located in Centerville. We had lots of requests for modified and custom recipes. When we could no longer accommodate due to changes at the store, many asked for my assistance outside the store. My business not only helps those with special diets, but also appeals to those who enjoy home-made treats. I do everything from cupcakes and birthday cakes to custom cookies and wedding cakes. Every occasion is special and should have delicious desserts. I use recipes that have been passed down to me, along with new recipes that I create.

If you asked me 10 years ago that I would be a baker and cake decorator, I would look at you with a raised eyebrow. My own background would make you do the same. I am a graduate of Ohio State with a B.A. in History and a B.S. in U.S. Politics. I sketch and paint in my spare time. I got into cake decorating in 2006 when my father decided to open his own business in Miamisburg, OH. He just didn’t want to decorate cakes. So he paid for me to learn some simple skills at the local JoAnn’s and the rest is history. I continued to take all the Wilton classes and soon became a Wilton instructor myself. Since then, I have worked with another local bakery and currently with a health food store where I learned more about the science of baking and Vegan desserts. I am always testing out new recipes and flavor combinations. This is such a fun and rewardingly sweet career.
