I’ve been to a lot of l&l bbq an these guys do it right. Good service and quality Hawaiian food.

Not too sure why there are a bunch of bad reviews, but my experience was a good one. Just ask my tummy lol. I ordered the loco moco and curry shrimp. Loco moco was frikin delicious. Gravy was really good and gotta love popping the egg so the yolk can make it a happy mess. Shrimp curry was good also. I love curry. Just a slight spice to it. Mac salad was decent. Veggies had a lil snap to it. That’s the way I prefer it. Overall a really tasty lunch and I shall be returning.

Disgusting, I’m was so dissapointed. I got the loco moco and my stomach was hurting for a good 24 hours. The place was dirty, the fish tank that is in front of the store had huge fish in there but it was dirty. The place had good reviews from years back posted on the walls but nothing recent. The cashier was okay to me but was rude to the other customers before us who waited a good 30 to 40 min for their food. Stating, «look at your receipt you got what you ordered.» Overall, I would never go back again.

Pretty terrible experience. The katsu curry bowl was too spicy and they cut the vegetables up in 3 inch squares. The loco moco meat was hard. Pretty sure the spam on the spam musubi wasn’t really cooked. On top of all that, they would not put the AC on. Nothing like eating mediocre food in a hot restaurant. The location in Irvine is so much better!

This place is disgusting. Best l&l is at the puente hills mall. I got served over cooked smushy rice in the spam musubi and my katsu dish had soggy rice so did the bbq plate. F this place. We work hard for our money. You guys are lucky i live a distance away. I want to drive back and throw this plate in your face. F the cook. F this place. I never use Unilocal but this food was so disgusting it gave me a passion to come voice myself. Dont eat here. NASTY. Clean your fish tank before i call animal control. Wish i could leave a 0 star.

Place has good chicken katsu. Large portion size. Regular is more than enough for two adults.

I used to love coming to L&L! We had one in Monrovia but it closed down so I’d drive to Azusa for my Hawaiian food. This place used to be on point with the quality and quantity but after just finishing my Lau Lau and Kalua plate, I am disappointed at how poor the quality of the food has become. I had called 20mins in advance to place my order because I know how long it can take to prepare the plates as I’ve frequented this location. When we sat down, I couldn’t wait to savor every bite of my comfort food reminiscent of my college days at Manoa. I unwrapped the LauLau from the banana leaves to find uncooked taro leaves. I dug thru the taro hoping the meaty morsels would redeem the dish but there was nearly nothing there. To say the least, I didn’t enjoy my plate. My nephew ordered the Chicken Katsu but even the breading was undercooked. We ordered some musubi’s, the nori was chewy and unseasoned. Before even consuming the musubi, I concoted my Sriracha and Soy dipping sauce, sriracha was watered down. The place is cutting corners and it’s not for the best.

THEYWATERDOWNTHEIRSRIRACHA!!! That fact alone should be reason enough to avoid this place! Simply get back in your car and head up Workman Ave toward Baranca and there’s a Hawaiian joint next to Chipotle in the Eastland Shopping Center. It’s cleaner and they are cheap bastards. For crying out loud, they use one of the cheapest soy sauces around and microwave their Spam Mitsubi. I was there tonight and ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad with«Italian Dressing,» which was basically a container full of oil with no flavor. The BBQ Chicken was decent, but lacked flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco, which was fine(no problems with that), and their fishy smelling and microwaved Spam Mitsubi. I took the Mitsubi back and told them it didn’t taste fresh and tasted microwaved. The dick-head«manager» told me «we don’t need to cook the spam because it comes cooked from Costco.» Nah really? I thought they made it from scratch. The owner because saying stuff in his native language, looking at me and then laughing with the woman at the register. Then when he was done making the Mitsubi, he walked it over to me saying he made it fresh for me. I told him thank you and next time make it fresh when the customer orders it. I’ll never be back here. This place was so great when it first opened, now it’s crap, with crap food and crap service.

We always pick up food from here. The food is good but the service SUCKS!!! I called and order 2 minis, I paused real quick & she hung up on me. I called back, I wanted a Hawaiian sun can & the total, she hung up again. I called back & asked her why she kept hanging up on me but didn’t say anything and acted stupid. She sounded like she was talking to me with an attitude and yelled out my total and hung up. I’m never going back there ever again. She didn’t even get my name or number. Horrible!!! Picked up the order and it was wrong!!! Never going back there again

I’ve been going to this location since I was in high school. I believe this branch is not owned by the same owner compared to the Puente Hills and others. They don’t have $ 1 spam musubis or any other specials like the other L&Ls. Each time I come here, I rarely see a line and I always order chicken katsu from them. I’ve tried chicken katsu from 4 different L&Ls and this locations Katsu is much different. As you bite a piece of Katsu. You can tell how juicy and tender and crispy it is. Plus it does not give you a nasty aftertaste to it. Idk how they cook it differently compared to other locations but I love their Katsu here. Plus the way they put it in that styrofoam container is really organized. With the other locations, each time I open my container, I could tell that they just threw the Katsu on there with the rice. The reason why I deducted a star is because of one rude lady that works as the cash register. She is a pretty rude asian lady. There were a couple times when I walked in when there was no one inside and I just stood looking at their menu to see if I can try something different and here she is just standing there interrogating me and asking«what can I help you with?» even though I’ve told her that I’m still looking and she just stands there looking at me with a not so friendly look. And at the same time she has this small TV at the side that’s turned up pretty high. Also another thing as a note, they have this fish tank as you walk inside the store, if you look at it you can see all the rot and grime the fishies are swimming around in. It’s pretty nasty to look at. While I was waiting for my food last night and I saw that it kind of made me lose my appetite.

I have gone to place for years, the food is decent but the staff is extremely rude! I called tonight for take out and the man who answered was very snappy and even yelled at me because I was having a hard time understanding him. They should at least have someone who answers the phone speak some sort of english. When I went to pick up my order he was equally as unpleasant. I will be avoiding this location in future and I recommend you do the same.

Good price, better than the other L&L’s in my area. The workers are quick, order come out fast, they hook it up with bigger portions too. The restaurant is decent sized, a bit old, but clean. Nothing I can complain about really. It’s L&L man! what do people expect giving crappy ass reviews. SMH but yeah the best deal is the Chicken Katsu, they really pack the box!

This place really went downhill I always get the musubi’s chicken katsu and bbq. Wasn’t the same flavor that I once knew and it just killed it finding hair and macaroni salad. BUMMER

I shouldn’t have given this fast food a one star at all. Been to other L&L and by far this restaurant is the filtiest of all. Got the order Chicken Katsu and had to throw it away because of the Bad smell and taste of the Chicken. Just plain nasty! Will never go back to this place!

The place used to be clean. The soda fountain and the restrooms are filthy and smell horrible. Tables are sticky. The lady behind the counter did not greet us nor was she friendly at all as she took our order. I assume she is the owner as she is the one that is always taking our orders since we’ve been going there. She is greedy, she denied us hot sauce packets as she pointed at the bottle of hot sauce on the counter and she also denied us lemons. Then I asked her again for lemons and all she gives us is one lemon wedge. We ordered a large Seafood platter one wedge isn’t enough. She even answers her cell phone while taking our order. As I just typed this draft another customer was told to wait TWICE as she was giving her order, that customer just told her off cause she answered her cell phone in the middle of her order. Been coming here for years. No more. Going to Ono’s Hawaii for now on. If this restaurant fails it will be all because of that one lady.

I really thought it was opened by Hawaiian Japanese, but it is not. I heard the staff speaking Chinese… Anyways, very big portion indeed, but the food was not good at all. Katsu chicken was very soggy, so was the musubi…
