Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is a casual dining restaurant chain in California. There’s 19 locations. This one is located at Plaza West Covina. Their menu consists of starters, small plates, greens, wok-fired dishes, pasta and noodles, brick oven pizza, sandwiches, burgers, soups, meat, chicken, fish, lunch specials, and sweet treats. They also have a gluten-free menu and a small menu for dogs. They have Happy Hour from Monday-Friday 3−6pm & Sunday-Thursday 9pm-close(bar & patio only). Here’s what I’ve tried: *Mimosa — This was refreshing. Nice balance of orange juice and champagne. *Loaded Potato Hushpuppies — Perfectly fried. The breaded portion was crispy and the whipped potatoes were very good with lots of spice. *Ahi Poke — The ahi poke is served on crispy wonton chips with wasabi dressing. The fish portion was very fresh and the dressing cleared my sinuses. *Ahi Poke Jar — The ahi poke is on top of all the other ingredients. There’s lots of pickled cucumbers which was rather horrifying because it overpowered all the other flavors. I didn’t taste the sesame peanut vinaigrette or the wasabi dressing. There was a slight hint of avocado. I preferred the original Ahi Poke which didn’t have any pickled cucumbers. The crispy wonton chips were indeed crispy. *Spiral Pasta with Meat Sauce — This was pretty good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the meat sauce was filled with lots of meat. The menu says there’s a touch of alfredo sauce but I didn’t taste any of that. I didn’t mind that though. Service has been pretty good for all of the visits. The servers were friendly and attentive. They would come by frequently and ask if we needed anything else. I preferred the older version of the Ahi Poke. Their new version makes it feel like I’m eating a jar of cucumbers. I will probably request for no pickled cucumbers next time. The hushpuppies and the spiral pasta with meat sauce were pretty good. Will be back for another visit.

Great for happy hour especially during sports games. The workers were on top of their duties even when it was busy. Only bad thing is parking due to how busy the mall and other restaurants can get. Will definitely come back

We had a great time at Lazy Dog! After the wait at Lucille’s was reported to be two hours, we bailed and went to Lazy Dog. We waited for maybe 30 minutes and spent that time at the bar. The double Knob Creek was actually a full double, which was nice. The food we got was great. Tha Cajun Fries, we got for free for checking in on Unilocal, were delicious and a definite order every time after. The sweet potato tater tots were good, but I’m not a huge fan of tater tots. The spinach artichoke dip was really good, as it tends to be. I got a burger for dinner, don’t remember which one, and it was good. Not exactly how it’d been described in the menu(I was expecting more spice and flavor), but it was good. Service was great, no complaints there.

Came here because my friends really love this place. Jk. I just really love them: P Or wanted to see them same thinggggg. So we got seating at 6pm on a Friday quickly(although, every time the door opened, the sun got into our eyes sigh). We got a menu and some time to figure out what we wanted. BBQ Ranch Bacon Cheeseburger A charbroiled half-pound beef patty topped with hickory-smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, chipotle ranch, lettuce, tomato, pickle and red onion on a brioche-style bun Yep! BBQ Ranch bacon, and I got my burger medium. I feel like having some of that rawness makes it juicier and better! There was a good amount of chipotle ranch, and it was tangy! :3 Everything else about this was a good mix together. I liked the red onion on there too: D. Altho. One large piece of baconnn(: You also get a side as well, and I upgraded to cajun fries. Don’t be me. I forgot to check in and get the Unilocal check in offer of free cajun fries. Why no one tell me: P Service good. Near Best Buy/Lucille’s.

Everything was on point with nothing to complain about. The service was excellent and the meal was delicious. The drinks were filled and I was satisfied. I usually have a lot to write about but this time I’m left speechless lol. I will be returning to try other delicious meals. My roast beef was tender and juicy sitting on a puddle of gravy and mash taters. It is recommended. So I’ll shall return to try the others that caught my eye. To be continued…

This restaurant seemed like a great place to check out for the first time and to watch some NBA playoffs on a Wednesday night, so I stopped by here after a movie at the nearby Edwards Cinemas. I got free Cajun Fries with a Unilocal check-in, and we’re already off to a good start! The generously portioned fries were hot and fresh with a perfect amount of spice and accompanied with a delicious dipping sauce. We decided to only get drinks while watching the basketball game on TV at the bar area. To start things off, we had a Lazy Dog Beer Sampler which came with 6 different beers(stout, pale ale, IPA, blonde, etc) that all tasted great. We also got their Sangria Sampler(pomegranate, white peach, and raspberry) which all tasted fruity and delicious. We also tried their Asian Pear Martini and Strawberry Peach Bourbon Smash, both very sweet and satisfying. The service was top notch, as our waters were refilled frequently, and the servers came by to check up on us every 10 – 15 minutes. I would definitely come back to try at the very least their Hush Puppies!

Mixed review… I visited Lazy Dog for a business dinner. Hostess was very accommodating when I requested a booth. Our server was friendly & competent. He answered all of our questions regarding an appetizer and a few of their entrees. I told the server we were in no rush as this was a work dinner. Trouble spot number one… My vodka martini was ordered explicitly straight up with the request for no vermouth. It arrived not only with vermouth but dirty, with olive juice, as well. It was quickly replaced with an apology. Our delicious appetizers arrived, emphasis on delicious. Trouble spot two. However the entrees arrived about 90 seconds later. A runner not our waiter delivered out food. I stated a little quick are we, we just received our appetizers. Response Oh. and he walks away. Normally I would have just sent it back to be remade not reheated but my dinner companion rolled her eyes as said no worries. As stated earlier our Apps were great. I loved how they do a flash Wok with the calamari. My Shrimp and rice entrée was perfect as well. Service MEH!

Love the atmosphere here. The bar is self seating so you don’t have to wait for a table if it’s available. I recommend the Sundried Tomato Pesto Pasta, it’s so delicious! The Sundried tomato sauce really compliments the texture of the pasta and chicken. Sometimes they add a ton of broccoli, but other times you’ll see a few in there. Their drizzled pesto sauce looks great and tastes great!

Lucille’s was 1.5hr wait, so we decided to come here. Never been to Lazy Dog, so it was a good time to try it anyway. Short wait. Large seating and bar area. Ordered fish(forgot if it was cod or some other type) with black beans. It was good. Bf seemed to like his Chicken Pot Pie. Thought it was decent with my two bite try out. The entrée took a very long time to come out. Thought they forgot to make our dishes, so we asked the our server to check on it. Other than my seafood entrée, I enjoyed the Cajun Fries $ 5.75 the most. The seasoning was spot on and it came with a chipotle aioli sauce. Best of all, it’s free when you check in on Unilocal! Service was good when we had the temporary female server(sounds like she was covering for our real server). We’ve received decent service after that. Saw the restaurant’s tip suggestion was 18%, 20%, 22% @@ Only seen one other restaurant I’ve been to on the Westside with these tip suggestions. If this is going to be the trend now. Might just have to cut back on dining out. Also had this Aqua Fresca that was refreshing. Couldn’t recall the name. It was lime juice color with mint. Anyways, had a sip of the Strawberry Peach Bourbon Smash. It was kinda good, but small. Thought it was a large mason jar. Aye, pictures can be so deceiving.

Burger was a bit dry not sure if the blue cheese made it taste like this? I ordered a medium and it was cooked through out. Pizza was excellent, well balanced mozzarella and pizza sauce. Not empresses with the sweet potato tots at all. Wifey really liked the peach sangria! I also enjoyed the house Jeff.

Been here twice and both times were for their happy hour. Everything on their HH menu is well worth the price. $ 3 for a huge basket a cajun fries good enough for at least two other people. The wings were really tangy but could have been a little spicier. Edamame were extremely salty and I wish the chicken tortilla soup was creamier and didn’t have soggy tortilla chips. I don’t expect much service since we were in the bar area, but it did take a while for us to flag someone down for us to grab the check.

My friend loves to come here so i joined her a few times now. Best time to come is during happy hour. Nothing beats discounted appetizers and drinks. Food: Pretty pricey for what you get. I got the chicken lettuce wrap. It was ok but has a aftertaste of old oil from the fried little crunchy white noodles thats in it. Its full flavored where you probably didn’t need the hoisin sauce. I didn’t finished and decided to wrap it to go with extra lettuce. Too bad i didn’t see it before i left and before i finished the whole thing to find a dried up dead wings of a bug/fly on my lettuce and to top it off, ½ a blue rubber band in the mix of the chicken. This comes to remind people that it doesn’t mean your at a nicer restaurant and not a mom/pop place, means that it is cleaner. Its not.(Minus 1.5 stars) Cost: Again, for the price you pay for the types of food and flavors you get here, its ok. Not bad but not delicious. If i ever come again, i would come mainly during happy hour as thats what i feel its worth. Thats just my tastebuds. You can be the judge of it.(Minus ½ star) Service/ambiance: Oh service has so far always been great. Servers always attentive. Thank you for the great service! Ambiance is relaxing. Dark, dimmed with descent décor. Parking: prime time is horrible! Expect to go on circles fighting with other drivers for the same spot.

The cancun fries were okay. Too crispy and crunchy. The pizza is really good but the mushroom are not fresh. The Kung pao chicken was amazing.

This location is pretty darn good all around. The server was polite to ask if I’d like my kid’s order to come out first. Which we did. I ordered the Sesame crusted Ahi Tuna with cauliflower Mash and coconut curry sauce on top of mixed veggie ragout. It was actually ! I ate the whole thing, scrap sauce with fork and lick, whole thing. The app — spinach/sundried tomato/cheese dip though — I would totally skip. It was too greasy with too greasy tortilla chips. The fennel sausage pizza looked good(with goat cheese and mushrooms/peppers). Service was good and attentive. Waters filled. Happy camper.

Fantastic atmosphere, food, drinks and service. Carlos was serving our table, and the New York steaks 14oz he recommanded was juicy and flavored just right. Lamb shank was pretty good also compared to outback steakhouse. The free flatbread with Unilocal check in was a decent portion, delious too. I don’t like to write, see my food pictures :)

2016 Unilocal 100 Challenge 25⁄100 I love this chain and always stop by one if near one during lunch or dinner. My daughter’s dance team was competing nearby and we had a little lunch break so most of the parents all met here. We were able to get a nice long family style cocktail table in the bar area. While the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent. They have a great varied menu to serve all customer types. I’ve had most of the main dishes and they’re all tasty. Their flatbreads are great appetizers and their soups and salads would satisfy any light or healthier eater. I love their burgers when I’m hungry and they go so well with their draft beer. Overall, it’s a great atmosphere with great food and service.

This place gets extra points for having cute dog portraits on their well :) suuuperrr cute! I came here for dinner on Veterans Day and it was packed, but we luckily got a table for 5 just in time. Even tho they were super busy, the food surprisingly came out pretty fast compared to how long I thought it was going to take. I got their margherita pizza with arugula; it was delicious. I think it was because I was craving pizza for so long, and my favorite thing to eat is arugula, so that’s prolly why I thought it was so good. There was also a gang of arugula on top, it was the perfect topping. I just wish they put more cheese on it. It seemed like there was more tomato sauce than cheese, and I love super cheesy pizza. Seasoned fries are wayyyy better than their regular fries. So if you have a dish that already comes with fries, tell them to exchange them for seasoned fries. There will be a charge, but it’s worth it. Their chicken strips looked so delicious. Of course I didn’t eat it, but someone at my table ordered them and the crispy skin looked so tasty. Also right when it came to the table, it was steamy hot right when you bite into it. Definitely want to come back to try their tater tots :)

I come here frequently mainly for the spinach and tomato dip, which is amazing here. The chips are always light and crispy and the dip always has that long string cheese eye porn pull to it. Ugh, just thinking about it is making my mouth water! Anyway, I was here earlier with my BFF and beside the dip, we got the loaded hush puppies and chicken tenders. This is the only place I’ve actually really ordered chicken tenders from. I guess that’s saying something! I usually like to come for happy hour since I like to pick at appetizers. They have a great deal. Drinks are well made. I’ve been to this location multiple times through out the years, but the only reason I’m writing this review was because of my server! Rosa! She was super nice and friendly! This would’ve been a 4 star review with out you! Anyway, love this place. Atmosphere is awesome :) will be back again and again.

Unimpressed. The reason why I decided to come here over bj’s or other establishments is because I read on Unilocal that they have good service. Unfortunately, this was not the case for me and my family. I called and made a reservation. The guy on the phone said his manager approved the reservation. Then, I called to change my reservation time and the lady, Caroline, said I’m not even listed on the reservations list and that she would make sure I’m on there this time. When we got there, we waited 30 mins even after having a reservation. What is the point of having a reservation?! The food: I recommend the ahi tuna poke nacho appetizer(if you like fish and spice) and the soy ginger salmon. The cajun fries are also decent. The drinks were bland and nothing special. My mom got the china mist iced tea, which is actually just a fancy name but it’s basically unsweetened iced tea(so ask for the sugar packet if you want it sweet). My sis in law got the tiger woods and she said it was basically an arnold palmer and that the cranberry was lost in there. she wanted to dilute the drink she had too. so nothing special. My hubby ordered a captain morgan with ginger ale for me(which is my usual at bars other than dessert martinis) but I knew right away that something was off with my drink. My hubby confirmed it was because they added flat/old ginger ale. Come on! This is supposed to be a bar! To make things worse, someone came up to our table with our ahi poke app then gave us a flatbread that we didn’t order, said it was because it was our first time here. We didn’t order it, so was it safe to assume it should’ve been complimentary since I said we didn’t order it? Of course we got charged for it. Tsk. Tsk. All in all a disappointing first time experience and I should’ve listened to my mom when she said she’s been there once and it was just ok. Nothing special food and service wise.
