Tofu soup was a-ok :) I ordered medium spicy but should have gone w/super hot. Not spicy at all. My shrimpers were a bit overcooked but the flavor of the broth was good. The side dishes were pretty ok. I have had better but they did refill the dishes that you liked. The service was spot on and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely come back :) Good job Jeun Tong.

The food is mediocre and so are the side dishes. My friends beef tofu soup lacked in flavor. And how do you run out of eggs? They told us that there were no eggs after we got our tofu soup. It ruins the whole tofu soup experience without an egg. As we walked out from the restaurant the ladies that came after us got eggs. That made me very upset. My friends and I are not going back here again.

Can’t go wrong with the beef bulgogi bibimbap special with the tofu soup side!!! Always great food and great service, usually seated promptly! And friendly service is a plus! My favorite place on a rainy day!!!

I love coming here for their lunch specials! 8.99 gets you tofu soup of your choice with rice and traditional korean side dishes also known as «ban chan». for only $ 2 more you get the combos(starting $ 10.99) like bulgogi bibimbap, spicy chicken, etc. with tofu soup of choice, also with traditional korean sides and rice. Such a good deal! Food is great as well, it’s comforting on cold days. That egg slowly poaching in that hot stone tofu, doe. Mmmmmm. This is my go to spot when I’m in the area and craving for some korean food! Service is pretty good, but be patient with them during rush hour. I see the dude in glasses working really hard, ’cause they’re super understaffed during lunch time.

ATMOSPHERE: Casual sit-down place. Fairly spacious with a good number of tables. THEWAIT: I went on a few occasions for lunch during the weekday. There was never a wait for me, even during prime time lunch hours. FOODQUALITY: I have ordered the spicy kimchi tofu soup here a couple of times and I have to say they know how to make a mean tofu soup. The quality is top notch and the spiciness level is absolutely perfect. I also tried their bibambap and was extremely disappointed by the lack of flavor. The meat and vegetables looked well-cooked and seasoned, but surprisingly, the entire dish tasted bland. SERVICE: The service is all right, but of course, can be a bit slow during the lunch time hours. OVERALLEXPERIENCE: Many of their items on the menu are reasonably priced. They have a lot of great combo meal selections. This is a great casual place to go to for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend their tofu soups! It’s the reason I always come back to this restaurant…

I came here to eat for a late dinner in the 626. I honestly only came here because I’ve been craving dukbokki! It’s the rice cakes with fish cakes in red chili sauce. I looked up all the Korean restaurants on Unilocal and found through the pictures that this restaurant had it. So we went to this location. It’s located in a shopping plaza with other Asian restaurants, so it was a lot of scavenging to figure out where it was. It’s on the left side when you enter through the plaza entrance. At night, only the Tofu House lit up with what looked like Chinese characters, so that’s the place you’re looking for. I guess it serves as a barbeque place and also a tofu house. When we got there, it was an older restaurant with carpet still. But whatever, we were there for the food, not the décor. We chose our table and sat down. Immediately, the waiters brought us the menus, which were just paper placemats. We couldn’t find the dukbokki, but it was because they spell it out as toppoki. I was so excited to get it and it was so delicious! The only thing missing is the ramen, but otherwise, the flavors were amazing with the hard boiled egg, fish cakes, and the perfectly cooked rice cakes. The waiter first said, you know it’s an appetizer right? But that’s all I wanted, and I thought it wouldn’t be enough, but I actually couldn’t finish it. My friend ordered their tofu soup with seafood and shared it with me. It was really yummy too! Very smooth tofu and so much seafood flavoring. If you’re coming here to eat Korean food, I’d recommend it! It’s just not your high scale or fancy restaurant, but it’s very delicious. Great staff too! They greeted us when we came and left, refilled our waters, and gave us extra utensils for us to share our food.

I am very picky when it comes to Kbbq and tofu bowl since I can cook both at home. The kimchi pork and galbi were great. and not overly burnt. The tofu bowl was very good with a bunch of clams in it… I’m impressed and say this place is legit.

Great small Korean restaurant. I usually go here to eat with my sister at night, when I’m craving tofu soup. The food taste great and price is quite reasonable. I also like the restaurant because its close by.

This place brings back great memories. When I first moved out to LA, I lived in West Covina for a few months. During my moving months, my dad would accompany me and we would have our father-daughter dates here! We are both fans of Korean tofu soup, so we would come here for their lunch specials. I believe the specials only go for 11 am — 3 pm if I’m not mistaken, on the weekdays. Their food is very tasty, fresh, and served promptly. Parking is readily available, and we have never had to wait to get seated/served. The prices are fair for what you get as well!

After living in ktown for so long, one slowly starts to develop a palate, as well as an ego when it comes to Korean food. (I should also mention that my own mothers cooking would be anyone ktown restaurants menu to a sad like of kimchi.) That being said, after moving to Baldwin park and being surrounded only by decent Mexican food for miles on end(with a few exceptions of outstanding places– and don’t get me wrong I by no means am dissing Mexican food), when I get a hankering for soon tofu, I usually refuse to drive to the 30minutes(if there is no traffic, and there is always traffic) after my move further east. Well, I used to try to ignore my cravings, and now I drive less that 10 minutes to get my tofu and spicy chicken! The only things I get here are the Korean ribs(sometimes), the kimchi soon tofu(almost always), and the spicy chicken(almost always always). Now the main thing I really like here is the spicy chicken, as spicy as it can be, and enjoy bites of mushroom, chicken and habanero! I know, I know, now most if any(cept me n my mama), will cook with a ton of habaneros, and most Koreans don’t use it too often– but this place does it right! It’s this weird tasty fusion of flavor and spice and… It’s oh so nice. The good thing for me, is that this place doesn’t give that damned fried fish as a side, which I don’t mind since i don’t like it– but if you do, well suck it up and eat some tofu. I Aside from the food, I really enjoy the service. I usually always see the young lad that takes me n my boyfriend’s orders, as well as confirm that we want that much spice. He is always polite and wonderful. This is my go to soon tofu spot in BP and I’m so glad it’s so close to me and I can save my road rage.

I’ve been craving some Korean food for a while now. The restaurant was clean with friendly staff and quite a few customers during lunch time. My boyfriend ordered the spicy chicken in hot stone pot with vegetable tofu soup. I ordered beef bulgoli in hot stone pot with mushroom tofu soup. The food was really good and so was the banchan(side dishes). I couldn’t get enough of the seaweed one and the pickled cucumber one. Overall the experience was great with a friendly staff with fast service and great, tasty food.

Food allergy friends!!! Jae was our server to ight and he was INCREDIBLY accommodating to my multiple food allergies. He went back and forth between the kitchen and our table with a ton of questions to ensure that I had a safe meal. THANKSJAE!!! Oh and the food was great!!!

I don’t know how i did not bother even checking this place out when it was sitting under my nose, less than a mile away from my aunts place where I lived for a year plus! Seriously though. The Spicy Dumpling Tofu soup. is stuff worthy of dreams. Its so good. The Galbi Bibimbap on a stone pot is so good! and I cannot believe they came as a COMBO. how can the soup be THAT eventful? TELLMEH!!! Rating this with 4 stars because I am not well versed in Korean Food. and will revisit this rating when i try other stuff and have some sort of gauge. But really, on an experiential level. This was so good. I want to come back.

This was supposed to be a 3.5 but I’m bumping it up to a 4 because they have really great lunch specials! For $ 9, you can get a tofu soup and beef bulgogi plate! It’s definitely worth it because they give a lot of meat and while the soup is a little smaller, it’s definitely still enough to fill me up! I also tried the beef bulgogi soup which was very tasty :) it reminded me of beef sukiyaki because of its sweet oniony meaty broth. Service was pretty decent but it was very slow at the moment. Our server didn’t come to check up on us a lot but brought us things quickly when we asked for them. Definitely not the best tofu house i’ve had,(I prefer jeun tong on Amar) but great for their lunch specials! I don’t think theres many other places that can beat $ 9 for tofu soup and meat :)

Bland food and horrible service. Too much MSG taste in there tofu. Waitress looks mad and pissed off. Didn’t even want us to take home left over kimchees. Really? Maybe they save it for the next customer. Will not come back again.

3.5 stars. Perfect place for some refreshing, heart-warming, fulfilling meal. If you’re in a big group, I’d recommend two people ordering a combo + soup. Below is a summary of our experience. Our Order: C1 Galbi Combo with seafood soup(mild) $ 19.99 + Kimchi & Beef soup(medium) $ 9.99. Pros: –Seafood Soup is great. It comes with two clams and one shrimp. They crack the egg as it’s boiling. Very refreshing & each bite was hot & tasty. Not salty at all. Don’t get white(level of spicy) because the mild gives it a little hit & that’s not spicy at all –Good for kids because they offer kids meal –Every soup comes with rice too; pouring the leftover soup in the leftover rice is good. The pot keeps everything warm and fresh. Cons: –The appetizers that comes with the meal was below average. They didn’t give fish and the each plate didn’t look as fresh and discolored. It tasted exactly how it looked. –The Galbi meat was really chewy due to the fact that majority of it was burnt or had too much fat. Overall, it definitely makes you feel refreshed but I definitely had better. I’m full and good to go. The combo + another soup is truly enough for two people.

I really love the soon doo boo here! They have a great selection of soon doo boos but they also have«dduk» or rice cake soon doo boo unlike other places! Yum! Their broth is very flavorful and the soup is always served piping hot. The only complaint I would have(and this would be if I was nit picking) is that their spice level jumps from hot to dangerously hot. I usually order my soon doo boos«very hot» at other places. I asked if they could somehow accommodate me with a spice level in between those two levels but they said they use an extract so they wouldn’t be able to control it. This Korean girl loves her spices doh! But in the end, still fine with me :) As for the place itself, it’s a big open restaurant with very traditional Korean paintings and plenty of seating. It isn’t very packed most times I go. They seat us immediately and take our order in a timely manner.

So good! At first I was a little sketchy about it because it wasn’t a big name tofu house. But it was very good, and they’re very fast about getting everything to you in a good amount of time. I got beef tofu soup and I’m completely stuffed– in a happy way– and would recommend it to anyone else too. Ahhh, I don’t have places like this in Fresno. Hubz got the chicken bulgogi and although I was too busy stuffing my face with my own food, I promise his looked just as tasty.

I like this place. I’ve been here several times and it does do the job when you are craving tofu soup. There’s the lunch special where the portions are a bit smaller than the dinner portions. The only thing is I wish they had the fish here. I ordered the beef and tofu combo. It comes out steaming and full of deliciousness. Be cautious of how spicy you want it. It can come really spicy if asked for. I like it that the meats are not swimming in oil when served. Some places just use too much oil.
