Wow, check out all these shitty reviews LOL! Anyways. I needed a smog check. Went over to the Purrfect Auto Service in Glendora on Route 66 with the coupon from a free ads paper (pennysaver), total price for smog check is $ 29 with the coupon. However, the employees at Glendora didn’t do it cause the EVAP monitor in my car wasn’t ready and was told to drive a few miles to get it up and running. Ok whatever. came over here, got the smog check done and passed with flying colors. Sweet.
Three stars because the waiting room is so outdated, smog could of been done a lot quicker, and because my seat was far back when I got into my car.

DO NOT COME HERE… I came in to get my breaks done and was told I needed $ 1200 work done and after declining service owner refused to give me back my vehicle unleaded I got it towed and threatened to call police to come and take away my car and give me ticket all while yelling at me. He’s RUDE, OVERPRICED, and a WASTE OF TIME.

I just had my Toyota Corolla for smog check with engine check light on, on March 7 – 2016. It failed then they suggested me to replace the Catalytic converter. It costed me 676.96 .
Just come back to day April 15. with recurring problem with engine check light on, they did not stand behind their work.
They told me another part need replacement & it will cost me another 469.99 dollars after just less then 300 miles driving. I refused that service.
I will not come back this place any more since they tricked me into costly repair. Not even worth one star for this place.

UPDATE I WON MY SMALL CLAIMS CASE AGAINST THIS SHOP. THEY APPEALED AND I WON AGAIN 06/​15/​2016 .They are CROOKS specially the Manager name SAM. Please don’t go to this shop. They will rip you off and lie about a problem your car has but really it doesn’t. I just recently took them to court for a timing chain they did in my Cadillac. They did such a poor job on my vehicle and couldn’t fix the problem I paid them to do. They had my car a total of 8 times and each time they had my car they just kept deleting the code and blaming the problem on something else like excessive sludge on my motor which is a complete BS and they also diagnose my car from a you tube video telling me I need to replace or rebuild the motor that my motor is bad and this is after numerous times they had my car. They are just coming up with BS excuses because them as as a shop and having mechanics that aren’t qualified to do a job I paid them to do. So I decided to take my car to crest view Cadillac in West Covina and fixed the job that purrfect auto couldn’t. Crestview Cadillac diagnosed my car stating my chains were off by two teeth, stretched chain and missing bolts, engine cover and splash guard also nuts and bolts wasn’t torqued right. I also had them inspect my motor for current or past sign sludge and found nothing. My motor/​engine was free from sludge. So that just tells me purrfect auto (Sam) was giving me the run around. Also they had made a fake invoice that saying no warranty because my motor had excessive sludge. But what they mest up on with that is that is was a different date from the first original invoice I got that never said or mentioned anything about warranty .both fake and original invoice both have the same invoice number, mileage, name, parts, price, etc… only difference was the date and fake copy stating no warranty. Well that fake copy had a date same day I was at work so I took that in to court and my time card stating that I was working on that day and never signed that invoice. If this shop did this to me imagine on how many other people purrfect auto ripped off and lied to .so please take my advice and avoid this shop for any repairs for your vehicle or even for oil changes. They are not reliable and trust worthy but instead they will lie and give you the run around and take your money. If you are reading this and already had a similar incident like mine I would highly suggest filing a claim against them through BAR (bureau of automotive repairs) they will help you out

Go some place else!!! Pepboys had done my last oil change and I had a coupon for 11.99 for an oil change at this place, they said that whoever did my last oil change put the plug in not straight and one of the men working there comes over to me with my plug and pieces of my oil pan that they stripped off while getting the plug off. I’m positive they just yanked it off from the beginning and jacked up my pan, so now in the near future I’ll need to invest in a new oil pan. Go somewhere else and save your time and money

Went here to get my oil change and they tried to charge me $ 800 to get repairs they say I needed. Said they were giving me a discount. Told me I had to get my car towed after I already drove it there or they can do the repairs in about 4 hours for $ 800. Told him no and I was going to call my friend who is a mechanic to come look at it. After I told Them that they decide to put my parts back together and change my oil. They also took my air filter off and didn’t put it back on right, didn’t notice that until I got home. Got my oil changed here before and had to replace stuff in the following weeks that I had no problem with before. That should have been my sign not to ever go back to them for anything. I honestly think they tamper with parts so you have to replace them. My personal mechanic been working on my car for the past two weeks so if anything is tampered with they will be getting sued. Good thing we took pictures of everything he replaced before and after and things he still is going to replace

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT I repeat DO NOT take your car to these people I took my car in for smoke coming from my car is took my car on a Monday and I received a call from the manager whose name is Sam on Tuesday morning that my car should be ready Tuesday afternoon after he gave me a list of things that were wrong with my car me being a girl and not knowing just went ahead and agreed it took him six days after not calling me back and may continue continue to call him repeatedly every day long story short my car still with leaking transmission fluid and my horn was working have to take it back 3 times and there’s no end to the story because I’m still waiting they charge me $ 1,500 to pay for transmission fluid that still wasn’t done completely I still have smoke coming from my car so please I beg you do not go to this place save your money for your car to another place if you have to run far far away from this place

Shame on me for not reading the Unilocal Reviews before going. The only good thing about this place was that they accepted a smog check coupon even though it was for another location. The other location couldn’t do it because their tech was on vacation. I was informed that I needed a new gas cap ($ 16.99) in order to pass. I know I could’ve bought one for a lot less at the PEP Boys down the street. That didn’t sit well with me but I told them to do it. What bothered me even more was the recommended service section on the invoice. A timing belt/​water pump replacement for $ 745.00. I had just replaced both a few months ago for $ 670.00. If they had looked, they would have noticed the new water pump. I won’t be going back anytime soon.

Sam the «manager» from Purrfect West Covina called me on 10÷17÷15 threatening me and said he would sue me. I laughed at his arrogance and intimidation tactics. I told my officemate and he had a similar problem with Purrfect West Covina and advised me to inform Unilocal

I’ve been here many times for an oil change.
Last week i was going down gladstone and my car was turning off i pulled over to call them and check what the problem can be. The manager actually had one of the mechanics drive to me.
I was able to make payments with them. Hopefully i don’t have to go back again unless its for maintance but if i have a problem again ill def. Be getting it fixed by them.

If I could give no stars than I would. I do not recommend this place! They rip you off! They charged my husband 150 $ to run a diagnostic test and a engine check light test for another 150 $. And said supposedly all these other stuff was wrong with the car. We took it to a bmw mechanic specialist and he said we definitely got jipped, that it shouldnt of cost that much for any of those things! especially for something that takes a couple minutes… We just spent 300 on nothing. And the owner is trying to say «I’m not trying to take your money» Yea right! Never going back again. Don’t waste your time or money there!

horrible place to get a smog… took in a ’07 toyota camry for a smog check today and the guy on the phone quoted me $ 35 including the certificate and smog so I took it there. The service was horrible the guy told me it would be 30 – 40 minutes so I left the car there and went out for a bit around the area and when I came back instead of working on my car or any car they were sitting around eating lunch and I had to sit there and wait for them to finish their lunch… finally they get to working on my car they finish the smog and the guy comes back to me with the air filter and cabin filter from my car THAT HE HAD ALREADY TAKEN OUT… when I asked him why he had taken the filters out of my car he said it was to show me that they needed to be changed and to ask me I wanted him to change the filters… first off… Im pretty sure you should ask me that question BEFORE taking the parts out of my car and on top of that he said it would be an additional $ 40 for this when I already didn’t want to pay him the $ 35 just because of his shit service. I ended up making him put the filters back in my car and told him I’d take care of it myself but I will never go back to this place again for any reason this is place has the worst service I have literally seen of any business.

DON’T EVER COME HERE for any type of service just like all the other reviews say! They will rip you off and they are some heartless crooks! I went here last week with my $ 19.99 smog check coupon… and of course my car didn’t qualify for the coupon because it’s an SUV… well okay that’s fine. So they did my $ 45.00 smog and then claimed it didn’t pass. I was told it needed a valve job that cost $ 1695.00 and takes 4 days to fix! Ha! Is that a joke dude! What they didn’t know is I just got my car checked about a week ago at Victor’s Quality Motors and didn’t need anything fixed for it to pass smog. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to take advantage of people and still sleep at night! Needless to say I took my car back to Victors Quality Motors where I should have taken it to get smog in the first place and of course it passed with flying colors! Just go to there page and the reviews speak for themselves… they are awesome and very trustworthy. Mike helps me every time and I will never go anywhere else! So if you’re looking for a great auto mechanic that are honest and do good work go to VICTORS QUALITY MOTORS!

I want to warn everyone of this purrfect auto service places. BEWARE!!! Do Not go to these places to get anything done to your vehicle. I have learned the hard way. These places are big time scammers that are only in it for the money. They may seem nice at first, but when you let your guard down the screw you over hard! I took my car to one of these places in West Covina for an engine replacement. When the engine was replaced in my car they I got the bill and noticed that there were many things wrong with the engine. One of the pullies on my engine was not properly set right and on top of that they have broken many original parts. They started charging me extra for so called new parts which where actually used parts. Somehow they must messed with the oilman because the car was leaking oil everywhere and when I changed the oil myself on my car I noticed there were pieces of metal shavings in the oil. The engine was a piece of junk that they put in. I put in a complaint to the automotive repair which is like BBB, but for automotives. They didn’t much. As soon I made a complaint that purrfect auto service in West Covina on West Covina parkway was gone. Then some guy told me that the same owners open up a purrfect auto here and they are doing the same thing to everyone. So don’t bring your car to these places. They will take your hard earned money and they will screw up your car!

This is probably the worst auto service I have done. I came here to do a normal oil change. At first the person said it was only going to take 20 minutes for the service. Little did I know that 20 minutes turned out to be over an hour and there was only one car in the garage not even being serviced. After I waited for for over 40 minutes, I asked the person if it was already done, he said it is almost ready. By the time it was done, the whole process had taken over an hour just for an oil change.
As I was paying for the oil change, the person on the other side of the desk said «your total comes out to be $ 90.» I asked him why would an oil change be $ 90 that does not make any sense. In return he said that we had replace your air filter for an additional $ 50. I told him, why would you change the air filter without letting me know at the beginning of the service. If you are going to add an additional change or charge to the agreed payment at the beginning of the service, it is only common business ethics to notify the customer that there is going to be an additional charge.
To add on to the horrible business ethics and service, as they were bringing out my car from the garage, they managed to scrape the entire front bumper of my car. The person who drove it out did not even take the time to look if there was any damages and just walked away. It shows how they treat and service other peoples vehicles without any proper care at all.
Overall I would not recommend anyone to bring there cars here to service period. This is probably the worst auto services I have ever been too, as they neglect to provide any decent customer or work performance services. I would give a rating of an overall zero, but the lowest is one.
**This kind of auto shop service deserves to be reported to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for poor work and business ethics towards their customers and their vehicles.

Do not go here. They try to charge you more even you bring in a coupon. Even double what the coupon is. This is my last time here.

DO NOT GO HERE! THIS PLACE TRIED TO SCAM ME OUT OF $ 120!
A few months ago, I came in here for a routine smog check. I had just had a lot of work done on my car, so I expected it to easily pass. However, when the «mechanics» at this place came back, they said it didn’t pass and that it would cost about $ 120 to fix the problem. They also said I would have to pay the $ 55 for the smog check when they re-​ran the test after they fixed my car. I knew that sounded fishy, so I left.
I immediately took my car to my (very trustworthy and well-​qualified) mechanic, who said my car was absolutely fine. The next day, I went to a place that only does smog checks, and my car passed with flying colors.
I wish I had read these Unilocal reviews first. I’m so mad that I lost $ 55 to these people and they have my credit card and other information.

Came in to get a oil change and smog check done cause they had an ad in the penny saver for $ 55. Go in and they tell me it will cost more do to my car being a 95 and older car. So I ended up paying $ 75. Waited for a good hour and a half cause there was a good amount of cars being worked on. Would given 4 stars if they were able to give the price that they advertised.

BAD Experience. Horrible advice. Wasted money. DO NOT COME HERE. Listen to fellow reviewers.
Came in to get my car smog checked. My car fails due to a visual that the engine light is on, but it passed emissions.
They offer to do a diagnostics test for $ 90 to find out the reason for the light to still be on. They say that I need to replace my front O2 sensor. The price they gave me to replace it was wayy too expensive. I ended up going somewhere else for half the price.
What happened next? Check engine light is still on and it wasn’t my O2 sensor. I just forked over $ 90 for a misdiagnosis. I didn’t want to bring my car in here the first place, but because out of convenience I was going to the mall, I needed a smog check.
They also marked my car being the WRONG YEAR, so it made it more strict to pass my smog.
The only thing good is the price of an oil change, but even then, I won’t be bringing my car or referring anyone back to this shop.

This is one of those moments that I wish I could give no stars for a review. They currently run a coupon in the Penny Saver for a $ 17.95 Smog Check + Certification. Since it was cheaper than the other coupons I was used to, I thought why not — I can treat myself to some boba after!
The first time I go there, they tell me the smog check machine is broken, but they will call me once it’s fixed. I leave my number for them to call me and never received a call back. Ok, maybe they’re busy and lost my number, it’s totally cool.
So I call ahead and ask if the smog check machine is working. They tell me yes so I go on over to get my car smog check, coupon in hand. The guy tells me that with the coupon my smog check will be $ 40. Um… what? I know, I know, I’m cheap — and yes normally $ 40 would be a reasonable price to pay for a smog check, but with a coupon??? Are you kidding me???
So I ask the guy the break down the costs for me. He gives me some bogus answer how, the smog check itself is about $ 20 and there’s an extra $ 10 for the certifiate and $ 10 to transmit the data to DMV via phone. REALLY?
Needless to say I walked out, not due to the price but due to the principle if you’re trying to use a coupon to draw my business don’t tack on all these bogus costs and be upfront about your service beforehand!!!
Do yourself a favor and drive over to Smog Pros Test Only on Colima and Nogales! They provide much more reliable service and won’t try to nickle and dime you.
