Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Do NOT buy any additional services from this location, and do not trust their «advice». They up-​sell products which can damage your car. For example, the Valvoline employee recommended an engine flush for $ 70. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, and trusted the company, so I agreed. However, both Honda and GM’s official sites strongly recommend AGAINST engine flushes, and say they can damage an engine. I showed the site to the Valvoline employee, who said that Honda and GM are wrong. So not only do they give bad advice and products, but they compound that with arrogance.

Very friendly crew… honest and welcoming. U appreciated bring spoken to in simple terms but not to make me feel incompetent. Great pricing for all they work they did! Joshua and Thomas are an excellent team and I would let them work on my car any day!

I never thought I’d be reviewing this, but I had such a great experience getting an oil change at Valvoline today. From the second we pulled up, we were greeted by a very nice man who said good morning and told us he would be with us in a second. About a minute later, we pulled up and were greeted by a very nice woman who offered us a lollipop! Great touch. :) The oil change itself was very quick, but still very efficient. They checked that my car was working properly from top to bottom. Thank you to all the great workers here. You made something that is usually unenjoyable to me, very enjoyable. To management, you have TOP notch staff– hard working & wonderful customer service which is something that’s hard to find nowadays.

Go in for an oil change, they tell me I need to replace a belt. I ask in an arguably smug tone to see the belt thinking there’s no problem they’re just trying to make an extra buck. Yeah it was all cracked and ripped in two locations. They give me a price that’s significantly under market value — of course I still looked. Yes, I’m the jerk that questioned everything when they were just trying to help me out and give me a great deal. Of course I’m next-​door buying the young lady working on my car a smoothie because it’s hot out, I’m a jerk and she deserves it.

Truly impressed by the level of teamwork I saw today. Great staff. In and out in around 30 minutes. I usually go to the dealer but I’m very happy with the service here today. A++

They changed il and 3 days later noticed it was leaking, went back and at first they blamed it n my car being to old, but when I told them it never leaked before they tightened the cap and oil filter. The person that did the work forgot the cloth they use to protect bumper and closed hood with it in there. Now I can’t open my hood anymore. NEver will I go back to a valvoline.

I know it’s a chain business but the team at this particular location is just wonderful. Friendly, efficient, and seem to have a great rapport with each other. Yesterday, for example, I stopped in for an oil change while they were pretty busy and witnessed another customer roll up and start SCREAMING at one of the staff members who was directing his car. They seamlessly and courteously handled the situation and even apologized to ME for having to witness it (of course I didn’t care — it wasn’t their fault but it was nice that they recognized how disruptive this dude was). They even gave me a discount on my oil change and totally didn’t have to do that.

Fast and friendly service, but a little too friendly. I have been to this location a few times and I have always been made uncomfortable by one of the staff members who will flirt with me, ask my name and personal phone number. It’s very convenient that you do not need to exit your car during the visit and all the services I’ve had done were fairly priced and well done.

On the fence with this place, staff was friendly but I wasn’t too pleased with the service I had done. I went into this branch for the first time, and asked for an oil change and tire rotation, that Harold would be doing. After waiting at the dunkin donuts next door (valvoline doesn’t have a waiting room here) for about 25 minutes my car was done. They told me my anti freeze was low so I asked them to fill it costing me an extra 5 – 7 bucks. After presenting my 15 dollar off coupon I felt my bill was still steap, 60 bucks! That means I had a 70 dollar oil change with 5w30 and a tire rotation, that’s more than the dealership! I always get a free rotation with an oil change. After accepting the price, I was super pissed because I brought my car in with no washer fluid and left with no washer fluid. I have never had this happen before! Normally I pay 20 – 30 bucks for an oil change, rotation and all my fluids are topped off. I most definitely won’t be coming here again.

I am new to the area and had changed my oil once before with midas but I was looking for a place that I did not have to get out of my car so that I can bring my little chihuahua for a joy ride. Came here and was very impressed, everyone was very friendly, not only to me but to my puppy giving him a couple of doggy treats while I waited. I will definitely be coming again.

Car wash — squeeky clean was 5 bucks (they have other to choose from)
I think the prices are comparable to just about any other place I’ve been to but with the convenience of having them do it right then and there.

Five days after a «MaxLife Oil Change» and «Air Filter Replacement» at Valvoline in West Hartford, CT, my 2011 ¾ ton GMC Sierra shut down in one of the worst case road hazard scenarios. Not knowing the issue, I brought it to the dealer where it was purchased and where I have it serviced/​repaired. I was told the air filter was missing/​never installed nor was the air box reassembled. This truck is a work horse for my company, MTR, LLC (Martin Tank Removal). As a direct result of Valvoline Instant Oil Change negligence, MTR, LLC suffered a loss in business along with 4 hours of employee wages which I had to pay while the employee waited for the vehicle to be diagnosed and repaired.
The Manager of this Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Derrick Mitchell, neglectfully offered the repair cost and the repair cost ONLY, refusing to compensate me for my other losses suffered. I refused as they are responsible for a loss much greater than the replacement of the mass air flow sensor. Also, the vehicle was subjected to a harsh winter road environment containing magnesium sulphate with the formula MgSO4 with no air filtration for over 500 miles pulling a five-​ton trailer.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change will be fighting for the maximum amount allowed in small claims court. Or, perhaps a class action lawsuit would be appropriate after reading the other reviews…

A little pricey but worth it given the kind of friendly efficient customer service they provide. You can ask them a question not related to your service and they will go into detail to help you solve your issue. They will even tell you where to purchase things at a lesser price that they actually can provide for more,

This place is the best for an oil change or quick maintenance service on your car. The staff are so friendly and nice, and I like seeing so many female employees. They get the job done quick; you are in and out. Their prices are on par with similar businesses, but they are always sending coupons in the mail to their regular customers.
And they give you a lollipop while you wait. And no crappy, generic lollipop– a Tootsie pop!

1.) Just to warm you up:
I love my heading for this one. This place is great to for your immediate car services. I don’t know why all the reviews from previously were erased. This happened after I got elite. Perhaps this place didn’t like our reviews? Hmmmmm.
2.) What your eyes may see:
A conveyor belt type system of a process. Just sit in your car as the men and women work on your car. You are in the mechanic’s room.
3.) Service:
Fast. Friendly. They even give you a blow pop while you’re waiting. Included is refilling of windshield wiper fluid, tire pressure and visual checks on lights, windshield wipers and other things happening internally. So they make recommendations as to what you may need for your car.
4.) Price:
I believe a little costly but at this type of efficiency it makes sense.
5.) Impressions:
This is my go to place for oil changes.

Absolutely, Great service and a great systems these people have here. You pull in, everyone is nice. They ask you what type of service you are there for, recommend items that are needed not just to add on other service. Get you Oil change here!

Everyone who has reviewed this place has already said what needs to be said but I’ll wrap it up in simple points:
You don’t have to get out of your car (awesome!)
Everyone is beyond friendly
They gave me a lollipop (yay!)
I used to hit the valvoline up near the WH resevoir but it always takes too long and I hate being in the waiting room. I live closer to this location anyway and it was super quick on a Saturday morning. Thumbs up!

Came here for an oil change. Was instantly impressed by the fact that I didn’t even need to get out of my car! Pulled up and was greeted by a group of guys who instantly got to work on my car-​changing the oil, checking lights, fliters, and some other stuff that I have no idea about (I’m totally not a car girl Lol). Luckily my fiancé was in the passenger seat, so he was able to tell them what I needed and didn’t need.
They offered me quite a few things (high efficiency oil, change a signal light that was out, change some filters, etc). We took everything except the oil, which goes to show that they are not just trying to rip you off.
Gave them my address and e-​mail and my fiancé says they send a reminder and coupons when it’s time for the next oil change. Sweeeeet b/​c I don’t even know where the oil goes let alone when to change it! :)

This Valvoline is great, they had me at lollipop! They even have a foursquare coupon for the first check-​in (I realized this after and had already paid). The crew is super friendly, fast and chatty (we talked about my new stylish Galaxy Note). The one downside is that I can get my oil changed for cheaper elsewhere but it might be worth the extra $ 10 for the service and speed!

Damn these people are nice! On a busy Saturday morning at that! I went to get an oil change and windsheild wiper replacement. About 5 cars were in front of me. I pulled the car into the friendliest gentleman I’ve seen in a loooong time but I noticed all the employees were nice. He greeted me enthusiastically, wrote down my request, said it would be ready in a half hour and suggested I get a cup of coffee at the adjacent D&D. All while I’m thinking, «Do you do everything with this passion and this damn fast? Can you marry me?» I just imagined maybe he did dishes and mowed lawns with equal fervor, and THAT to me is a stud. Guys he really was that charming.
He called me from D&D to tell me I needed no filter, which is crazy because everytime I get an oil change people bullsh! t me out of a filter. I went to D&D, read my book that I brought with me in anticipation of a long wait. But in under 30 minutes he called to say I’m all set! Say whaaaaa!!! I’ve never been so thrilled to have an oil change in my life. I even called to do the survey, which I never do, but felt it was my duty as a loyal citizen of this country!
1) I wish I got his name.
2) I also wish that if things go awry w/​my current guy I could get in contact with Valvoline boy and make it happen. And I made it a point to go home to my guy and tell him this information, with all due respect.
