Clear Blue Pool & Spa

Very unfortunate service for several years from what seemed to be inexperienced pool cleaners. Whenever I would call the owner, he would apologize and make excuses on behalf of the actual cleaners. I can’t even begin to count the number of missed weeks, most of which they would insist that they were there even though I had security cameras and knew otherwise. In addition to that problem, I have been overcharged for repairs and falsely charged for equipment that was never even provided to me. Worst of all, months after I cancelled my service, they are still billing me! Complete disorganization and unprofessional service. Stay away, there are so many other far more experienced and professional pool cleaning services.

Been using Clear Blue pool service, for almost a half a year, and Jeff the owner has been honest with ever thing he has promised ! He knows that as a pool owner, all you want is to see that your pool is blue, not green ! I never feel like I’m getting nickel and dimmed, no up sales, no bs ! The last few pool guy’s I had, seemed like they have been in the sun a little to long ! You get what you pay for, and if it’s service that you want, then call Clear Blue Pool and Spa, and ask for Jeff. You won’t be sorry !

Beware! Clear Blue Pools owner, Jeff, led me to believe he did the weekly pool maintenance but it is actually his UNTRAINED (by the workers own admission) worker. During the 7 mo. period I struggled with their bad service, Jeff never once returned to the property to oversee any of the problems.
The only reason I hired this co. was because I needed the pool man to come in behind the gardener on Thursdays, which Jeff agreed to. I hardly ever saw his pool worker, as he came on the day & time he felt like coming, if he came at all. He later claimed he’d been coming there on Fridays @ 7:00 AM. A convenient explanation, since he knew I was not around until 10:00 AM. Jeff’s low end price proves the adage «you get what you pay for.» Even more so, as I literally did NOT get what I was paying for since the pool worker was not even showing up.
My waterfall had stopped working so I paid Jeff over $ 500 for a new pump, right in the beginning. It was not until a few months later the pool worker stated Jeff didn’t tell him the spa was part of the job, only the small pond sized pool. One time I had to ask him to clean the filter. Another time I had to ask him to remove the debris. And to brush the side of the spa. People were complaining about mold/​mildew smells. Eventually it cost me $ 1000 to repair the spa.
The spa was drained. I purchased $ 50 in new spa chemicals & got spa maintenance training myself.
When the pool worker showed up one day, I TRAINED HIM HOW TO MAINTAIN THE SPA! Despite my telling him only to use the chlorine granules as directed, he poured a heapful in the spa. His «quick fix» maintenance solution is just pouring water clarifyer in, which he did despite my objections. Now he had training, but a bad attitude.
The pool had a green ring around it. Eventually the waterfall went out as a chain reaction when he failed to show up & clean the pool basket of debris.
Jeff’s email responses were false promises that the worker would be there, but he never showed up until ¹²⁄₁₇. The pool worker claimed he’d told Jeff wks. ago he wasn’t coming. His solution to fixing the waterfall was disassembling my filter, leaving me with a missing filter grid, nut & bolt which cost me $ 280 in repairs.
Jeff had been paid through Nov. Despite all the no shows through Dec. including the ¹²⁄₁₇ filter incident, he had the audacity to bill me for the complete month of Dec.
A word of advice. Make sure you ask the owner/​estimator if he is the one who does the actual maintenance or not. This is my 2^nd bad experience which proves to me that many company owners who sit home & count the money or are out on the golf course all day don’t care about their customers or business.

I couldn’t be more pleased with Clear Blue Pool and Spa’s team. We’ve been through a lot of pool people over the three decades we’ve lived in the Valley. Jeff, Dave and team are the best we’ve seen so far. They recommended and installed all new equipment (heater, filter, blower, suction cleaner…) and the pool + 3 fountains have never looked /​performed better. Takes but a few minutes to heat up the spa whereas in the past, it took over an hour. They made many extra trips without charge to ensure things were working properly and out of 3 bids, had the best costs and logical solutions.

We used Clear Blue for a year before switching. While Jeff, the owner is great and responsive to problems the actual service techs coming to our house left much to be desired. The majority of the time they were in and out in less than 10 minutes, checking chemical levels and expecting our pool vacuum to do their job. One guy did such a bad job our pool turned green in the summer. Jeff got it fixed and I think ended up firing the tech. Still, we consistently felt like the pool looked a bit off and we thought it was in need of refinishing. We finally switched to another company and the different is enormous.
Our new pool company actually spends time cleaning the pool every week. Every time he leaves, it looks spectacular. Our spa had some discoloration our Clear Blue tech told us would require draining to improve. Nope. Our new tech took care of it his first visit and it looks pristine now.
Overall for Clear Blue: good owner, bad staff.

Jeff and his crew have given me years of wonderful service including weekly maintenance, to complete pool pump installations. His staff shows up all the time, and always does a wonderful job. I couldn’t ask for a better pool and spa service!
