I came at 1 pm and nobody was even here. No «out to lunch» sign, nothing. So, screw this place. Not coming back!

Ladies, the guy running the place is super weird but not in a creepy way. You get paid there which saves you the time of having go inside Pavillons to cash out. It’s located on the side of the parking lot where there would normally be dumpsters.

I’m only rating this a 1 because just drove all the way there on a Thursday and was closed — it was 4:15 pm. When I called the phone number asking why it wasn’t open since it was before 5 she said that location closes at 4:30 then I told her I was standing outside and still closed. She didn’t really have an answer. Anyways guess I’ll try again later
TIP — go before 4?

I hate how their sign state they are open until 5 yet they aren’t. They stop taking customers at 4:30. Cleaning up is to happen after you close like any other service industry. Or better yet clean while you don’t have customers! Also, on one particular visit I was the last customer around 3:45 Pm because he ran out of money! He started turning people away! I hate having to pay a CRV fee and then fighting to get my money back from the government. Let’s stop this stupid fee and set up better home recycling programs!!! Most of us work 7 – 4, 9 – 6 or an equivalent so the hours this place has is deplorable. Only day I can return recycling is Saturday and they aren’t open for long on Saturday. So waste your weekend on retuning recyclables because these guys don’t have hours that cover most of working America! Oh and once the guy gave me 2.97– two pennies??? Hello news flash the CRV values are 5 & 10 cents. You can’t have 2 cents! All refunds must be in increments of 5!!!
Please note: CA State Law requires that all retail establishments who sell items with a CRV, also buy back these empties at the same CRV rate.
Pavilions doesn’t care that the center isn’t open because they only have it there so they can get around not having to buy those bottles back from everyone. It sucks that companies like this get away with this kind of stuff and it sucks that we have to deal with this crap just to get a CRV fee back that the store charged us in the first place.

First of all, let me say that Socal Recycling provides the PERFECT reason to go to re Planet recycling in the Ralph’s parking lot on La Brea/​3^rd. I suspected funny stuff going on with Socal when the business hours were listed as open until 5pm on Saturdays and when I would arrive at 4.30, they wouldn’t accept my recyclables… so last week I went at 4.10-the employee Hector was arrogant and argumentative and when I explained that the website stated they were open until 5, he was not at all interested in helping me. i felt a little less horrible when he turned away 4 people after me. He made disrespectful comments to me and even though all of his equipment was still out and fully functional and I explained he could have helped me out for the 15 minutes I stood there begging him to take my stuff, he could not have cared less. So I left and came back this week at 3.35pm. Guess what? As I pulled into the parking lot, he held up a sign that said they now close at 3.30 on Saturdays!!! He needs time to cleanup! Is he a psychic? He always closes 5 minutes before I arrive? By the way, notice the information on Unilocal and on their website states the business is OPEN UNTIL 5PM Monday to Saturday. Not 3.30. Not 4 pm. 5 PM. I asked Hector if he was concerned that I would call his boss and make a complaint and he was as unfazed this week as he was last week. I can understand why-​although I sent an email to the owner through the website, I didn’t even receive the courtesy of a response. I suppose this is a philanthropic venture for Socal Recycling and its President, Armond Abramian, because they really don’t seem to care about maintaining this business and providing even the slightest degree of courtesy and customer service. Today I left 2 voice mails at the office. The 2^nd one thanked them for driving me to discover re planet and there I found courteous, professional workers who were helpful and happy to serve me and the others there. I received a voucher that I was able to credit back to my debit card in Ralph’s and all was good all around… oh-​and when they said they close at 4.30, they were understanding to the people that had just shown up and everyone walked away contented. SHAME ON YOU SOCAL!!! You’re in a service business. Stop lying about your hours of operation and be nice to customers! You have no business without them!

Great location (Pavilion’s on Santa Monica blvd), and friendly guys. I always do my own sorting (not sure if they’d help the ladies out), but its quick and easy. Rarely have to wait. Seem to be getting a pretty good deal as well.
And even if they’re ripping me off a bit, I’m still getting $ 10 back for happy hour :)

If you are looking for cash from your recycling, this is the one and only drop off location you can go to in the area where you won’t be surrounded by homeless people. I also love that this location is within the Pavillions’ parking lot, which makes for an easy stop before I do my grocery shopping.
Another tip: You can actually trade in much more than just plastic and aluminum bottles at this place. Check the sign for a list of what they accept!

Very easy process and in a nice Westside location. Don’t expect to have a payday but you can buy a cappuccino and help the environment. Nothing negative about this experience and it’s a clean site.

Easy to find location. It is on the east side of the parking lot at the Pavillions in WeHo. There was a guy there waiting and there was no line.
He puts everything in barrels, weighs them, then pays out. I’m about $ 6.50 richer, and helped save the planet. Win-​win!
FYI he takes milk jugs, but doesn’t pay out for them.
