Business Owner

Jennifer Zehenni, Founder and Director of TeachPlayLearn, holds a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Studies with a minor in Urban Education, K-​12 Teaching Credentials, and a Masters in Education, all from Santa Clara University. With 10+ years in both the public and private sectors her background includes: program and business development, strategic planning, curriculum writing, K-​12 instruction with a variety of student populations, administration, and professional development design. Her diverse experience has provided a strong foundation in educational leadership and her creativity in the classroom, as well as dedication to direct service and advocacy, has awarded her such honors as a Master Teacher position within Santa Clara University’s teacher credential program. She is passionate about serving others and dedicated to developing educational opportunities that are creative, collaborative, and accessible.

Our experience of Teach Play Learn LA has been and continues to be excellent. We were well aware of Vanessa Englund’s credentials as my son was her math student in a «previous life». Jenn Zehenni was new to us but soon became a critical member of our academic team. When Jenn came to our home to introduce the Concierge program to us we were between schools for Spring 2016 of 9th Grade. She was extremely helpful in guiding me through home-​school, hybrid and full-​time school options for our son. Jenn is a great communicator and very resourceful when it comes to finding a solution or a multiple solutions to an academic need. And the tutors that came to our home during this transition were also top notch. Both Indy and Sam engaged and inspired our son in a full slate of 9th grade classes. From Algebra 1B to Intro to Spanish all needs were met. We are now enrolled in a private school but regularly my son mentions his Tutors and the things they shared with him about their own very interesting and rich lives. I can highly recommend Teach Play Learn to families looking for a fresh, innovative, 21st Century level of support for them and their student (s) what ever the age. Thank you team TLC for making everything that seemed so hard go so well.

I cannot speak highly enough about Vanessa and Jen’s tutoring service.
The weekly reminders are wonderful and always checking in with us, keeps a parent like me informed of all the sessions that have taken place. Getting an update on the lesson in a short overview is quite helpful.

Jenn Zehenni is a phenomenal teacher. I was fortunate enough to work in her classroom with her for 6 months and see her in action. She used a variety of different strategies and techniques to engage the students in what they were learning. They were completing hands-​on projects, working with laptops to create podcasts, even writing a student newspaper that Jenn designed herself. Each one of her students was thrilled to be in her class!
Jenn is also a huge champion for her students. She found their interests early on in the year, and supported each student as they reached for a dream or a goal that they wanted to achieve during the school year.
You will love the TeachPlay Learn staff and your experience!

Jen Zehenni Is an amazing teacher, leader, inspiration. She’s intuitive. She has that «spark» that makes her students want to join her in whatever she’s doing at the time… it always seems fun and important. She incorporates solid lessons into «play» lessons… science experiments… think Mythbusters… physics lessons… construction projects with Legos. English… why not write a play and then put it on… Your student will LOVE these classes. They’re fun!!!
Jen will utilize every avenue presented to her to get the lesson into her students head.
I am highly impressed with Jen Zehenni, both personally and professionally and I think you’d miss a star opportunity to have your child experience joyful learning if you don’t follow through with TeachPlayLearn.
